There were just a few minor things. We had trouble getting the coffee maker to work and the bathroom doorknob was loose but otherwise it was quite nice.

This was a lovely, comfortable place and easy process. The water is highly chlorinated even after filtration - I suggest bringing your own drinking water.

Excellent communication with Tia. My family and I enjoyed staying on the lake, and there was plenty of room for our guests to visit. Quiet neighborhood and close to coffee shops, groceries and restaurants.

What a great home for a family reunion

We had a wonderful time here at the house. The lake is beautiful and very quiet and peaceful location. Lots of room for everyone and great big area to play games and eat together. We enjoyed the house some much we didn't even go out and explore the area.

Family Vacation 2025

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our time in this cozy lake home. The home is well equipped for any type of fun inside and outside too. We had our own paddle boards but there was a paddle boat and kayaks ready for use. Cooley Lake is lots of fun and the fireworks were awesome! Thank you Tia & Mike for your immediate help with a couple minor things.

First and foremost, the hosts to this property are the kindest and most accommodating I’ve ever experienced. This property was a last minute rental due to the original property I rented fell through at the last second. The house was immaculate and big. There was more than enough room for the 10 of us and 2 dogs. There was a pontoon boat to rent which was so wonderful. The lake has a sandbar that we enjoyed too. Quiet neighborhood and so many great restaurants nearby. Fishing was good too. There’s kayaking and even a paddle boat to use. We enjoyed this vacation very much and will definitely book again with this property. I can’t stress enough of positive feedback on the property and hosts. I can’t thank them enough. Book it!

Family Trip

It was perfect...but not too perfect!!

The day we arrived, we were super stressed because our daughter was getting married in two days and we had been running around like chickens with their heads cut off! When we got there, we took a moment and sat on the deck with the beautiful view and just breathed a sigh of peacefulness. It was just what the doctor ordered! During our stay, we had family coming and going with many trips to the airport and back and to the wedding venue with the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner and set up and tear down and at the end of every day we were able to come back to that peaceful view. It was so much better than going to a cold hotel room. We had several children staying with us and it was so nice that the place was comfortable but not pretentious. The house had just the right amount of wear and tear... The kids were able to just be kids and have fun! It was a great place to gather and we made many great memories there.

Debbie's Wedding family Time

My first impression of this property was Lovely and Peaceful! the kitchen is very large and the table is big enough for all 12 of us. There were enough glasses, cups, dishes, and silverware and pots and pans. The living room also was large with comfy love seats, sofa and chairs. This room was big enough to play games, we brought board games and card games there is also a large supply at the property. We had great fun! We had coffee and breakfast outside on the deck. The view outside the deck in the back - BEAUTIFUL!! A lovely lake with geese, ducks, and a swan. We had a campfire out in the fire-pit and we had yummy s'mores! The bedrooms were all nicely decorated and the linens and towels were very clean. There were even extra sheets and towels if needed. This house was so well stocked. We had a wonderful time reconnecting with our family. The owners are very helpful answering questions. I highly recommend this house. it was wonderful!!!

The pictures don't do it justice!

We reserved this home, last minute, because we are a large family that was coming in from out of town for a memorial service. We didn't have many options so we settled on this property. We were so pleasantly surprised with the home - the pictures don't do it justice. There were 13 of us and there was still room for more people if we needed it. The owners left us sweet notes for our arrival and were very flexible with us. They even left us a yummy bottle of wine. The beds upstairs were super comfy - something that's hard to find w/rentals. The property was beautiful. The only downfalls were some of the amenities didn't work well. The vacuum was an electrical hazard, the dryer took forever and made weird noises and most of the remotes didn't work for the televisions, etc. (and the TV's only had a few basic channels). Also, the couches weren't very clean and could maybe use some slipcovers. However, I'm very picky and still thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I would love to bring the family together again, for a better occasion, and all stay here during the summer.

Thank you so much for your review! We are glad your overall stay was comfortable. We are so pleased when we get feedback from guests with issues that we wouldn't otherwise find so easily. Since your stay, we have replaced batteries and ensured that the remotes worked. We rented a fabric cleaner machine to handle the tough cleaning of our couches. The vacuum cleaner is an old one, it will be replaced! The cable during this season is pretty basic and the nightly rate reflects that, however during our summer months, the programs get upgraded. Thanks again!

Very Disappointing Property

The online listing looked great, but this was a very disappointing property. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable. The laundry machine had a warning about poor water quality and potential damage to clothes, so we couldn’t even use the laundry. The coffee pot was terrible and made a sludge. The patio was filthy and we had to clean all chairs before sitting on them. The kayaks had water in them, were dirty, and essentially useless for our trip. There was a sign on the neighbor’s property that they were watching the house. The house had almost none of the basics that we come to expect with VRBO properties, such as basic cooking materials, tin foil, paper towels, travel shampoos, etc. The owner needs to do some serious investment in this property in the little things.

ames, So sorry we weren't made aware of any issues during your stay. We could have addressed and rectified all of them for you! New beds and pillows have been being replaced between guests. One queen bed in that home was still due to be replaced, but we didn't receive it until after you checked in. We would have loved to swap it out for you! All the pillows have been replaced, as they are every year. The warning sign in the laundry room should have been thrown out, as we replaced the well and water treatment system last season, and have had no issues. We could have gladly replaced the coffee pot, as we keep extras on hand. (coffee pots do go bad more often than we could've ever imagined). The neighbor is a member of the neighborhood watch, and does have a sign. The website does list what we do and don't include with the property, so you can review before you book. However, the website indicates that we do not supply any paper products, but we have been supplying enough essentials (TP, hand-soap, DW detergent, etc) to get you started. Also, there has typically been tin foil, plastic wrap, wax paper, etc left over from previous guests on site (but we cannot guarantee that will be the case for everyone). The tree debris on the chairs is something we try to avoid by blowing off between each guest, but sometimes nature happens and a windy day or some rain may knock some twigs, leaves, and nuts down on the chairs and they may need to be whisked off real quick. That’s just the horrors of living in nature. Maybe a more urban setting would work better for your next “vacation”?
