Wonderful weekend stay

Cozy place to stay in San Anselmo. The space was small but very comfortable and well-provisioned - all the necessities plus some extras. Would definitely stay again!

Amazing!

Adorable and spotlessly clean! The host thought of everything, making our stay incredibly comfortable and welcoming. We hope to come back and stay again! There are some stairs, which were a bit challenging as my husband had hurt his leg during our trip, but everything else was perfect!

Lovely tree house

My son and his girlfriend stayed here while visiting us here in Marin county. They absolutely loved their stay in the modern, clean, and well appointed tree house apartment. Dreamy treehouse vacation rental

We had an amazing time at the treehouse! The property was so well maintained and the boats couldn’t have been more thoughtful or considerate when it came to attention to detail. The kids didn’t want to leave!

Beautiful, cozy and comfortable w/ great hosts

This beautiful place felt like saying in a 5 star hotel in a tree house! Every little detail from the interior decor to the thoughtful amenities were above and beyond. We enjoyed our stay so much we had wished we booked an extra day just to hang out in the space. Our hosts were wonderful and made us feel right at home. We will be staying here again in the future and taking full advantage of the beautiful hiking near by!

Quit retreat in San Anselmo

This was a lovely apartment for a three night stay. The apt. Is clearly very new, clean, quiet and comfortable. Hiking trails are literally across the street. The nearby towns of Fairfax and San Anselmo require a short drive, but have plenty of dining options. A really restful spot for a short break.

Oak Tree Oasis

This is a very peaceful location up in the hills of San Anselmo. The views of the surrounding hillsides were spectacular along with the sunrises and sunsets. The hosts were friendly and inviting. We especially enjoyed time on the deck with Gilbert the oak tree and the clean modern decor. It had all the amenities we were seeking and was in close proximity to areas we wanted to visit. A big thumbs up.

Incredible views | Hiking Nearby | Great Hosts

We really appreciated the whole process of check-in and checkout! The hosts were really warm and showed us where everything was. The place was absolutely gorgeous and had amazing views where we could sit outside and appreciate the sunsets. Kitchen was well stocked and had all the basic things you would need to cook with!! Bed was very comfortable and the entire place was well designed and beautiful! Trailhead was across the street and the grocery stores were also very accessible! We will definitively come back again here!

Amazing

Our stay at the San Anselmo Tree House exceeded our expectations. The apartment is bigger and more spacious than it appears in the pictures. It’s immaculately clean and every detail has been considered by the host. Modern appliances, comfortable king bed, and luxurious linens and toiletries. The kitchen is stocked with essentials, so there was no need to run out for coffee, tea, oil or spices. The deck overlooking the canyon dotted with California live oaks is the best. Finally, host AJ went above and beyond. He welcomed us at check-in, communicated with us throughout our stay and kindly offered a late check-out to accommodate our obligations. We felt instantly at home.

A Hideaway in the Trees

My wife and I spent 4 lovely nights in this wonderful “ treehouse” in Anselmo. I am in my late 70s so I was a little daunted by the stairs leading down to the house. But once down there we found a lovely ingeniously designed 1 bedroom apt with all the comforts of home. LJ, our host was welcoming and easy to communicate with and ready to help with anything we needed. As it happens the place is so well appointed we needed nothing. Looking forward to future visits. Beautiful, elegant modern design. The bed is like resting on a puffy, soft cloud. Kitchen is fully stocked. Bathroom is absolutely beautiful. Washer/dryer is amazing to have. Dishwasher was great for convenience. It's literally a brand new home. Laying in bed with the sliding glass doors open to the view of wilderness was breathtaking. This location allows you to experience nature while also being close to civilization. We plan on booking future stays at this beautiful tree house. Thank you LJ for the wonderful experience.

The most tranquil and peaceful stay!

My partner and I stayed at this stunning home in San Anselmo hosted by LJ and Hanneke. LJ and Hanneke were absolutely wonderful hosts. They were communicative, prompt with responses, and very kind and thoughtful. They left flowers on the counter and handwritten notes of notable restaurants and areas to visit during our stay. Their place was incredibly clean and beautiful. Waking up every morning was a dream come true! There are walking trails right from the house into the rolling hills of Marin, California Live Oaks are peppered on the hills behind the house, the scenery was unmatched by any other places we’ve stayed. What a special place to stay; we will be back next year! Thank you LJ and Hanneke for the most peaceful and perfect stay!

Lovely stay in the Tree House

This is a wonderful place to relax and recharge while surrounded by the natural beauty of Marin County. The screened porch doors fully open to the beautifully decorated, modern living space to give the iconic California indoor/outdoor experience. I loved hearing the owls at night! Hiking and biking truly were steps away. Everything was clean and new, and the kitchen was well appointed with the basics, including cooking oils, spices, etc. There were multiple options for coffee preparation (including the coffee grounds). There were zero options for TV viewing—just the way I like it!

An Amazing Stay at the Treehouse!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about my recent three-week stay at the Treehouse—it’s truly one of the most delightful properties I’ve ever experienced. Being in the San Rafael area for work, I was searching for a space that encouraged reflection and mindfulness, and the Treehouse turned out to be a perfect retreat in every way. The balcony overlooking the trees provided such a serene escape; I loved the peaceful nights, just listening to the soothing sounds around me. The location is ideal, with easy access to fantastic hiking trails and cycling routes, including some great spots for mountain biking. The Treehouse itself had every amenity I could hope for, from a beautifully stocked kitchen to a convenient washer and dryer. The design is elegant yet so relaxing, creating an incredibly comfortable atmosphere. The property owners, LJ and Hanneke, were exceptionally gracious, warm, and attentive, making the experience all the more special. I couldn’t have asked for anything better and am already looking forward to my next visit!

10 stars - just book it!

If, like I was, you’re looking for a place tucked in nature, but with the comforts of a refined hotel/ wellness retreat - you’ve found it! The treehouse is one of those rare finds that checks all the boxes: It’s centrally located but private-feeling and nestled in trees, with a wraparound terrace perfect for enjoying a cup of tea surrounded by birdsong (and the occasional visit from curious deer!). The entire space is tastefully designed with a calming, minimalist feel, and squeaky clean. The sliding glass doors let in abundant natural light at all hours of the day, and the king size bed is soft and cloud-like. LJ was kind and responsive, and he and his family have thought of all the details, including filtered water and refreshments, coffee/ tea/ oils/ spices, high-quality linens, and hypoallergenic laundry detergent. It was also very thoughtful of them to leave fresh flowers for my arrival. All in all - I couldn’t have asked for a better place for a few days of R&R, and to explore the natural beauty of Marin County. A few favorite spots for future visitors: Muir Woods + Beach Overlook, Point Reyes National Seashore (home of elephant seals + herds of elk), The Farmer’s Wife for the freshest local lunch and Good Earth Natural Foods to stock up on organic groceries.
