This house is built prior to 1960 which means that the basement will be the coldest and the top floor will be the warmest. In an effort to ensure everyone staying at the property is comfortable, we provide portal/ceilings and portable heat sources

During your stay, you have access to the entire property except for the storage room and storage closet in the basement.

We make ourselves available 24/7 to assist with anything that may arise during your stay.

NEIGHBORHOOD: Monumental Escape is perfectly positioned near everything you want to see in Washington, DC. We are a 5 minute walk to H Street which is filled with shops, book stores, bars, Michelin star restaurants [Daru, Marketto, Bronze, Toki Underground, Cane, Laos in Town], a theatre, and much more. We are a 15 minute walk to Union Market is has 2 food halls (1 - every cuisine possible named Union Market; 2 - latin food hall named La Cosecha), Michelin star restaurants [El Cielo, Masseria], boutique shops, Trader Joes, and much more. We also have a farmers markets near by: 1) Saturday is the H Street Farmers Market [5 minute walk] and 2) Sunday is across the street. There is a turf field, community center, and play ground a half a block from the house. Also, we are a few blocks away from Gallaudet University [university for individuals who are deaf or have hearing impairments]. Some of our local restaurants are also deaf owned at operated, including our Starbucks! Don't fret, if you don't know ASL you'll be just fine.

TRANSPORTATION: This home allows you to use your vehicle or you can use the free H Street Trolley [5-7 min walk] to connect to Union Station [Amtrak, metro]. There is a bus stop across the street from the house too.
