¡Bienvenidos a Casa Sol y Luna!

Nuestra casa está en medio de un hermoso jardín exuberante lleno de árboles frutales y una abundancia de flores. Esta amplia casa de un piso tiene dos dormitorios y dos baños completos, una cocina recién restaurada y totalmente equipada, dos comedores, una sala de estar amplia y una sala de sol donde se puede disfrutar del jardín desde el interior. Junto a la habitación principal es un pequeño jardín Zen donde se puede empezar el día que enumera a los pájaros piar con un buen golpe de café. Vas a saborear la belleza de nuestra decoración modernista zen que es elegante y cómodo.

Somos una propiedad amigable con el medio ambiente. Tenemos una pequeña piscina que nos hemos convertido en una cisterna ecológica. Tenemos todo el material orgánico de compost y reciclar. Debido a todos los árboles en nuestra casa, tenemos un agradable microclima dentro de la casa por lo que siempre a una temperatura perfecta sin necesidad de calefacción o aire acondicionado. Tenemos reguladores de intensidad en cada lámpara en la casa por lo que utilizar sólo la luz que necesita y es capaz de ajustar la iluminación para la lectura o una noche romántica.

Esta extraordinaria casa ofrece grandes lugares interiores y exteriores para trabajar, jugar, entretenido, y la meditación. Usted tendrá una experiencia inolvidable en Casa Sol y Luna!

A little piece of heaven behind the wall of bougainvillea!

We stayed in this beautiful home (my daughter, son-in-law, and myself) for three nights. From the moment we arrived and Juana opened the gate with a huge smile on her face, everything was perfect. The home is gorgeous and well laid out - plenty of room for the three of us without bumping into each other. The home and gardens are so peaceful that it was lovely to come back and relax after a day of exploring. Maria and Jennifer had given us wonderful tips on what to see and restaurants close by. And if you love art and design, there are fantastic art books!! We have loved our stay here and will definitely come back. Thank you so much Maria and Jennifer!!!

Wonderful house with Fantastic Private Garden

We had a very memorable stay in Maria and Jennifer's house in Curnevaca. The house is large with all the comforts of home, close enough to the freeway for easy access but very quiet for enjoyment and sleeping. Juana, the custodian, was very helpful and I just wish that our Spanish had been better to communicate effectively with her. We went to the Saturday market in Topoztlan which was wonderful as well as visiting Taxco and some haciendas. This was our fourth visit to the city and will definitely return. Thanks for all your help Maria

Relaxing Vacation Home

Casa Sol y Luna is located in the gorgeous city of Cuernavaca. There are many interesting cultural venues, great restaurants, and fun places to shop. After a day of site-seeing and shopping you can retreat to the secluded and peaceful home in the middle of a lovely, well-kept garden to relax. Our thanks go to the owners, Maria and Jennifer, for sharing their beautiful home and to the home’s caretaker, Juana. We enjoyed our three day visit and would like to return soon! Charming and comfortable house

This house is situated in a lovely garden. It is very comfortable with all needed amenities. Juana is a guardian onsite who is there to ensure everything runs smoothly. She is a stellar asset but does not interefere with the privacy of guests. We have stayed here several times and look forward to returning annually. The weather in Cuernavaca is always wonderful and it's billed as the city of eternal spring. The house is located in a neighborhood accessible to many restaurants, a nearby grocery and the ever present taxis to take you throughout the city. This property is very special and highly recommended.

Much more than what we expected

Casa Sol y Luna in Cuernavaca is very clean, comfortable and decorated with taste. It has a big, beautiful garden that is well looked after. Thought has been put into welcoming guests and information has been made available.A lot of thought has been put into preparing the house for ghests. A walkable distance from the downtown area and the market but there are also frequent buses right at the door or taxis readily available. Cultural activities are often offered at the Ocampo Theater or at the Jardin Borda near the zocalo. We felt extremely secure in this spacious, comfortable house and the housekeeper also cooked for us at times for a small fee, she is a wonderful cook, very experienced in welcoming guests and readily available to help with transport reservations. Her knowledge of Cuernavaca is extensive. We stayed for 2 months and hope to go back again.

Tranquil, Comfortable and Lovely

This property has the trifecta. The beautiful garden surrounding the house ensures a quiet and stunning respite from the energy of Cuernavaca. The tastefully decorated house with lovely Asian accents combines with all the creature comforts for a wonderful stay. Taxies are always readily available and very reasonable. There are great restaurants nearby like Gusto and Barini. A botanic gardens is only a couple of blocks away and offers a great place to stroll. Juana is so gracious and helpful with suggestions and tourist advice and ensures everything is fresh and clean upon arrival. In addition to sites and museums in Cuernavaca, Greyhound-like buses can take you to nearby Puebla, Taxco or Tepotzlan for very few dollars. We always feel safe and everyone is so friendly. We are already confirmed to return in 2016. This Casa is a gem!

Beautiful Property

We stayed here for 3 nights Sept 2014. Juanita who manages the property is an excellent host. There is lots off street parking and security never an issue. House is updated, modern, immaculate and private. Property is beautiful and is ~ .5 hectare. Price is very reasonable. Centro is a short taxi ride or a 17 minute walk. Definitely, we will return.

Heaven in Cuernavaca!

We are already scheming to get back to this exquisite place. The house is perfect, the kitchen modern and congenial for the home cooking we love to do (fresh squeezed OJ, anyone?), and the garden...how can we say enough about the cascades of blooming flowers, the flowering trees, the dawn views of Popocatepetl? All this and a 15-minute walk to the Centro. There is also a little market that lovely & congenial Juana, the caretaker and hostess during our stay, pointed out about 100 yards from the front gate. Local salsas, tortillas, vegetables, all practically at your doorstep. Wonderful restaurants within walking distance, and when the business of dynamic Cuernavaca takes its toll, you have this oasis of calm and loveliness to retreat to.

In our travels we love to cook and relax, therefore, we usually rent a house or an apartment so we can enjoy the unique amenities of our rentals. This has made an enormous difference in the quality and cost of our travel experience. Since this is not our primary residence, we decided to share our house with other fellow travelers so they can enjoy our magical home and have a more pleasant experience while traveling in Mexico.

Known as “The City of the Eternal Spring”, Cuernavaca is blessed with warm weather year-around (80s F). Its landscapes are filled with colors and fragrances which come from to the flowering of bugambilias, jacarandas, African tulips, lilies, jasmine, tabachines and daisies. It’s a chosen destination for many due to its proximity to Mexico City, Taxco, Tepoztlan and the impressive archeological site of Xochicalco. No wonder it has been adopted as an amusement and relaxation location for those who have known it, from Aztec emperors, to Spanish conquerors to French princes, to explorers, artists and retirees. Beautiful plazas, colonial buildings, haciendas, and artists residences tell of a rich history and of a magical city.

This property was originally owned by our grandparents but In the past few years we’ve remodeled it to make it more modern & ecological. We’ve enjoyed renovating and redecorating it. We like playing with the décor and adding new elements that make it more fun and comfortable. We’re constantly planting new trees and plants and improving the landscape of the garden.

There are many nooks in the garden where you can enjoy your morning coffee, a midday Margarita, an afternoon tea, have breakfast, lunch or dinner, do yoga, meditate, listen to the birds chirping, read a good book, have a romantic evening or just simply relax in a hammock.

This house is a wonderful retreat from the hustle and bustle and a perfect place to enjoy all the wonderful natural and historical sites this city and state have to offer since we are very close to most historic & cultural sites. We’re walking distance to some wonderful restaurants and language schools. We’re minutes away from the downtown, incredible haciendas, and shopping malls.

Our trustworthy housekeeper has been with us for over 40 years and lives next door. She can provide you with helpful guidance and information about Cuernavaca. You can also practice your Spanish with her and learn how to cook authentic Mexican food. She’s a wonderful cook and for a small fee can also cook for you.
