Light-Filled Secluded Estate
This secluded, one-of-a-kind estate has it all. Originally built in 1908, the updated farmhouse is now a private sanctuary offering plenty of privacy, light, and space, yet is minutes from popular restaurants, shops, and parks.
A 25 min walk to the Metro takes you right into DC (if you prefer, a bus picks up right by the house to take you to the metro--or the popular Montgomery Shopping Mall). Very conveniently located to access all of DC's attractions, but with peace and quiet of the suburbs.
The house retains its early-19th century character and charm, and has been updated with all modern amenities. Access from out-of-town is easy, as the house sits within 5 minutes of interstates 270 and 495 ("Beltway") and is located between two of the main roads into Bethesda and DC--yet it preserves its rural charm and peace.
The house has a total of 5 bedrooms. Three of the bedrooms have their own in-suite bathrooms: two on the second floor and one on the third. The third level also has two additional bedrooms that share a bathroom.
The kitchen is well-supplied and connected to a bright, sunny family room that is stocked with toys for kids (and adults). There is a dining room open to the kitchen, as well as space to eat outside on the patio. There is an additional living room and library for your enjoyment.
The garage and the space above it are not available for rent, but guests can park in the driveway to the garage.
The house is located in a gated community and the backyard is fenced, making the property ideal for families with children who like to play safely outside. The Cabin John Park, with its large playground and famous miniature train, is 10 minutes away by car, and a small playground is within 15 minutes' walk.
Several excellent restaurants, as well as a CVS, a Starbucks, and the and award-winning Bethesda Bagels, are located within a ten-minute walk. A Giant Food is within 5 minutes' drive, Whole Foods within 10, and (three!) Trader Joe's within 15.
The excellent Music Center at Strathmore is only 7 minutes away.
