Ultimate Arizona Desert Escape

Welcome to Olesen Desert Mountain, the ultimate secluded desert vacation experience. Situated in far N. Scottsdale away from the hustle & bustle is the 5000+ sq. ft. home that features amazing views & 5 bedrooms all with king beds. Four of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. Downstairs you will find a super spacious area with bar, shuffleboard, darts, ping pong, exercise room & amazing theatre room. The backyard space with an oversized hot tub is so peaceful & relaxing. Come be our guest!

The property is located in far North Scottsdale in an amazing secluded desert location. There is 2-3 miles of dirt road and best access with a mid/full sized suv, jeep or truck. Once you arrive you will not want to leave. The serenity, views and amenities are top notch!

Guest will be proved with a code to the e-lock a few days prior to arrival. The code is temporary and only valid on the dates and times of your stay.

We also provide one garage remote for access to use the garage space.

Host gives the guest space but is available in person if something may arise.

Best House Ever

This property was by far the best one I've stayed at thus far. I host small business retreats for my clients, and it's important to me that I provide a great experience. This starts with the location I use. There wasn't one issue with this property. The owner/manager was so communicative and helpful. The property was clean and well-stocked. There was more than enough room for me and my guests. I would definitely stay here again.

Terrific property inside and out! This home was perfect for a family of six. Entertainment inside and out. Well stocked kitchen that allowed for many at-home meals. Beautiful views and hiking trails.

Great property

Our group was meeting for an executive board meeting and the house was great. WiFi worked well and the house was perfect for us. Lots of room but also lots of space to sit together and talk. Nice secluded location and very peaceful. Thank you!

This house was perfect for our family vacation!

The house had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. There was ample kitchenware and seating for a large group. Everyone enjoyed all the amenities (bocce, ping pong, shuffle puck, the swim spa and the theater room. The Mountain Views were spectacular and the area was peaceful and quiet. Plenty of hiking trails nearby and golfing and restaurants within a 15-20 minute drive. Andy was an amazing owner - easy to communicate with and very attentive! We would highly recommend this property!!!

Wow! Prettier than the pictures!

Huge kitchen, gorgeous dining room with beautiful three sided view. We watched movies in the theater, hung out in the Jacuzzi. We played a lot of ping pong and shuffleboard. Great, great, great family location. Andy was super responsive and super helpful, and it's priced well. This was twice the house for a lot less money. Thanks again Andy for a great Kelly family reunion.

Amazing house

We had a great time! There was room for everyone, the house has a great setup and enough room for everyone to have their own space. We loved the darts, ping pong table, shuffleboard and the movie room downstairs. We did have a little check in problem but Andy responded quickly and everything was taken care of. The house is a little ways from restaurants and grocery stores so make sure to plan accordingly. If we were planning on going somewhere we planned more things to do while we were out that day. So then we didn’t have to leave and come back. We lived the house and would for sure stay again!

Fantastic Family Home

April 2022 The expansive property had something fun to offer for every age group. Our favorite was the back yard area and the incredibly relaxing enormous FitSpa, WOW!! The location was private, quiet and far enough away from the city lights to enjoy star gazing. Clean, current, with standard provisions. Andy, was very easy to reach and quickly responsive. Our only negatives are that the professional landscaping is severely overgrown and the driveway was very rugged with a sharp steep curve and many ruts. More suited to an off-road vehicle rather than a luxury car/suv.

Hi Katie, thank you for the review and pointing out all the things you liked and didn't like about this property. I'm glad to hear you appreciate that It is an amazing place to get away from it all. We are so close to the McDowell Sonoran Preserve that we planted the same desert plants that you find in the preserve and we let them grow naturally to match what you see in the preserve. In fact, most of the back yard photos you see in this listing were taken just a few days before your arrival. If you walk our property, it blends in perfectly with the natural terrain of the Sonoran Desert. We don't have fences on our property line and you won't be able to see where our 2.5 acre lot ends and the adjacent multi acre lots begin. Our driveway does have some hills and turns but it is very manageable by any vehicle. My Toyota Corolla handles it just fine and big delivery trucks like Amazon drive it no problem. We have areal photos of the driveway and landscaping so you can see what it looks like.

Secluded Serenity

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It is a lovely large home with 5 bedrooms of which we only used 4 and everyone had their own private bathroom! This trip was to celebrate a milestone birthday in a secluded location with peaceful mornings/evenings without disruptions from a crowded neighborhood or heavy traffic nearby. This home met the challenge successfully and with it provided tons of fun for our family to enjoy. We cooked all meals during the stay except one birthday dinner in Cave Creek. The kitchen was appropriately equipped with all needed cookware, glassware, utensils and even some seasonings and basics left behind by other guests. Every member said they absolutely loved this home and welcomed a chance to stay here again. You will not be disappointed if you’re looking for an oasis off the main grid yet equipped with more to do than time to do it all in a week.

Nice getaway for our family.

Property is amazing with great views and lots of wildlife. House is large enough for everyone to have privacy. Was very clean and had plenty of parking space. Owner was friendly & quick to respond to any issues we had. Our only complaints for our 5 day stay was that the beds are beyond hard, and the property manager arriving (twice) and entering property while we were guests without any notice, including backyard and garage areas. A very offputting situation when having morning coffee on back patio in pajamas and strangers just appear around back corner of house when we believed we had privacy. I understand trash and jacuzzi maintenance is necessary on weekly basis, but simple text or message through VRBO to property guests to ensure privacy and safety of all, shouldn't be overlooked. We appreciate the great time we had playing bocce ball and shuffleboard! It was a great getaway from Las Vegas for our family. We would love to stay again when in Scottsdale. Thank you.

Hi Michelle, thank you for the kind review. I'm happy to hear you want to stay here again the next time you are in Scottsdale. Yes, we do have SPA maintenance on Tuesday and I'm sorry if Christy startled you when she came to clean the SPA. I said she would be there when I emailed the lock code but I will make a note to inform future guests again the day before as well. Tuesday is also the day trash is taken out to the street for trash pickup. I pay someone to do it so guests don't have to wheel the trash barrels down the long driveway. It's a nice service.

They landscape was in need of weeding and the hot tub only worked 1/3 of the time. Took two repairmen to finally get it fixed. Freezer was broken on arrival but it did get repaired immediately. The pillows were like rocks. I expected a better sheet quality for a place like this. No instructions for the TV (unless you use dish at home) no clear instructions for fireplace or outdoor fireplace. The dirt road would not have been a problem except for the unusual torrential rains we had during the month we were there

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We apologize for the inconvenience of the repairs required during your stay. As mentioned, we fixed the freezer immediately upon notice and the Swim SPA required a part to be ordered, otherwise it would have been fixed immediately was well. The Swim SPA is only a year old so it was abnormal to require repair. We have a house manual with instructions for the Home Theater Room, BBQ, Fire Place, Nest Thermostats, and Fire Pit. Our TV's have DISH remotes that are pretty intuitive but we can add it to the manual since not everyone has experience with Cable TV. Instructions for these are also included in the welcome email sent out a week before arrival. All pillows and sheets have all been evaluated and upgraded to the high standards this property deserves. The recent rains did bring up quite a few weeds which have now been removed. Thank you for bring these things to our attention. Your feedback is important to us and we strive to give every guest a 5 star experience.

Stunning view, Amazing Home in Secluded area Cave Creek

Absolutely beautiful views from this gorgeous house. Looking out the kitchen dining picture window to beautiful marshmallow pink and purple clouds with Saguaro cactus was breathtaking. We are used to pine trees in Mammoth or Palm Trees in Ca desert. The rolling hills here are dotted with giant Saguaro and we couldn't get enough. The patio was great, with paver stones & lots of shade, it was almost 100 every day. But the AC worked great in this big house. We rented the house for the above ground swim pool/spa-because we have an English Bulldog who would sink like a weight, so we never felt safe renting a place with a pool. For the 2 of us, this pool was perfect. Taking a refreshing dip after golf everyday was really nice. Our dog lounged on the faux grass and cool paver stones, while we soaked up the sun. There were a few nights we enjoyed lightening shows at the surrounding mountains, just far enough to not hear, but the view was fantastic. The home itself is huge!.. With just the 2 of us, we used only the master bedroom and bath, which was very comfortable. Great kitchen, gas stove and we cooked every morning and night and enjoyed the dining off the kitchen. There was a horse ranch right across the street and it was fun to watch them. This was a fabulous trip to the Cave Creek/Scottsdale area, we definitely recommend it highly. While it was 20 to 30 min to the stores and golf, once you are here you're in your own private hacienda.

5 Star Desert Retreat

My husband, my kids (20 & 17) and I stayed at this divine home for over a month. The home itself is lovely, has quality décor, bedding, and drapery, etc. The master bedroom is substantial in size with a whirlpool jacuzzi tub which I used every day for my stay. In addition, there was also a separate shower with two showerheads which my husband used daily as well. My kids had bedrooms at the other end of the home with en suite bathrooms! Great for us & them! Overall, the beds were all comfortable, the linens were all soft and there were black out curtains in all rooms which needed them to keep the rooms even cooler. All the rooms we used also had ceiling fans. The laundry room was accommodating & had all amenities we needed. The washer is large & can hold a large load which was nice for our family of four. The dining room near the kitchen was where I often found myself working and sitting because I was obsessed with watching the birds & all of the wild life. Wow. It is truly incredible, if views are your thing. If you are lucky, a monsoon will roll through & you will have the best seat in the house! SO COOL! The kitchen had everything we needed. They also had seasonings. There is a Keurig also and a HUGE pantry. All the appliances worked great, there were no issues, and we used them all daily. The three car garage fit all three of our cars no problem and we have one large SUV, a jeep and a mustang. There was ample space to park them, and dance around if you want. There are far more amenities outside in the back yard then we had the time to experience. Admittedly, we only used the BBQ and we used it several times with no issues. We also used the FitSpa, which is very lovely, but it was a bit too warm outside for us to use it often. When we did, we enjoyed it thoroughly. We liked to go in it, early in the morning and swim before work. We also used one of the umbrellas near it to create shade to enjoy it longer. The AC's worked great! We also used the theater room down stairs to watch movies! It was a cool amenity! Andy & the house manager were prompt and diligent when we reached out to them, and they NEVER left us upset, lost or confused about anything in the home. Everything in the home worked well. No issues with quality. The home is well taken care of. The home is divine, but Andy and his team made it even better. We could not have asked for a better stay. I would go back to this property over & over! Thanks Andy & team!
