The hosts were welcoming and the house was perfect for our Turkey Day getaway! Although We did bring some of our own cooking supplies, the house was equipped with enough of the basics to cook everything we needed. We did a tour of the Bellegrove Plantation (a must see) which was only a few miles down the road amongst other stops during our stay. Weather was very windy and cold but the house stayed warm and wasn’t drafty at all. Overall would stay again if we were in the area. Thanks!

I like to place it was peaceful, nice and quiet. Didn’t have to worry about anybody else. We visit the restaurant next to us. It was very good food and there is an ice cream place. That was very good. Overall it was a great place to be.

We really enjoyed this place. It’s a peaceful property, with a lovely back yard, you can walk over to some great bbq and ambience at Schaefer’s Bbq. We enjoyed the many rooms in the house, and all its quaint character, bed and furniture are comfortable, and the place is spotless. We were here during a few days of 99 degree weather, and the house cooling worked great, kept us very comfortable. It’s a place we will return to when visiting family in the area!

Perfect Place

we wanted a place close to Strasburg; location is close to interstate & main highway as well as MANY attractions. The hosts are incredibly nice & welcoming and our stay was very comfortable in a super cute home.

Review

The property was very clean, was easy to get to, and was quiet. We don't do streaming, so were unable to watch TV with their smart TV, but it was not really a problem. The bathroom was very small and would benefit from a towel rack or two and a toilet tissue holder. Overall, just minor inconveniences in a nice property.

Large space, great communication

Communication was great and very quick when needed. The home was more spacious that I expected, which was wonderful with three young children. The main room downstairs is fairly small, but worked (needed to put pack and play in it, and it just barely fit next to the bed, but it did). The upstairs room was spacious and loved the separated space even though our big kids opted to sleep in the queen together each night. The only difficulty we experienced was the size of the shower. I’m 5’6”, husband is 6’2” (both generally average size-not petite but not large either), and three young children. We’ve used small showers before, but this was especially tiny. Even our petite 8 year old had trouble with it. It worked fine, but if the size is a concern, that would be the only caution I give for this property. Otherwise, it exceeded our expectations! The BBQ market next door has a little playground, and our kids enjoyed having that to play on also. We would definitely stay here again if the need arises to come back to the area (wedding trip this time).

Great stay

Absolutely loved this place. There was lots to do and the hosts were great communicators. They replied immediately to our texts and gave lots of information about the local area. The house was comfortable and in a great location with restaurants and beautiful walks nearby.

Good deal

This house was what we were looking for and exactly what we needed. We had daytime activities planned all weekend and just needed a decent priced place to stay in town. House is simple, clean, and The owners were easy to communicate with. If you need at place to stay near here and don’t want pay a high price this will work for you. Like the other reviews say the BBQ place directly next door is delicious and if you are into beer they have a very great selection of craft style beers and ciders we stood there for 10 mins deciding what to get.

Middletown, Strasburg, Winchester Area House

Property located just south of Middletown, VA. Backs up against the Cedar Creek Battlefield. House is a well kept, older, renovated house. Easy access to interstate and close to Winchester (20min) and Strasburg (<10 min). Some road noise, but not overwhelming. Nice layout inside, nice porch and cookout area. Next to a restaurant. Very good for the price. If you are a Civil War Buff, it is within good driving distance of a number of places. Would recommend and stay here again.

Middletown is a cool little town and we love being part of it. It is rich with history, from Belle Grove to Cedar Creek National Park, there is plenty to explore.

The location......most views this incredible are remote and challenging to access......our farmhouse offers a spectacular view of the Valley and Mountains while being in the heart of local amenities and attractions.
