Pet-friendly, Kid-friendly Farmhouse near Holy Hill, Ice Age Trail, State Forest

Welcome to our family's farmhouse built by our great grandfather in 1917.

Our 2,500 sq ft house starts as you enter into a front porch converted into game room for family time with board games, a TV with dvd player, and puzzles provided. Next, a traditional Dutch door opens to the large kitchen and dining area. The table can accommodate up to 8 people and with so much counter space, you'll want to eat in! Our family room has multiple seating areas including a sectional with a gas fireplace for your use while you stay. The second living room has a pullout queen sofa bed and French doors to close for privacy if needed. This space also contains a washer/dryer for your use and a full bathroom with tub/shower combo. All spaces are kid and pet friendly, with a spare kennel and pet food dishes provided as well as outlet safety plugs and safety gates available for use for small children.

As you head upstairs, be careful with the steep steps as they are original to the farmhouse. A cozy bedroom with a queen bed is on your right and across is the main bedroom with a queen bed as well. This main bedroom has the upstairs full bathroom attached with extra closet space, iron/ironing board, hair blow dryer, and a vanity area. Then down the hall is our third bedroom with 2 comfy twin beds. All bedrooms have blackout curtains for a full night's rest. The hall closet has spare bed linens, quilts, and extra pillows for your use as well.

Outside we have plenty of lawn to enjoy and a fire pit (logs and starters provided) with 3 wooden benches for seating. This is an operational farm, so areas around silos and sheds are off limits.

We felt cared for and welcomed. It is a cute old house that has been modernized. The beds weee very comfortable.We stayed during a cold spell - in the single digits, and the house stayed pretty chilly - we kept it at 65, but I’m not sure it got that warm. We just wore layers and made it work. Also, there’s not much water pressure in the showers, but plenty of warm water.The house was decorated for the holidays which gave it a really homey feeling. I’d love to come back during a warmer season!

We had an amazing time at your home. The home had all of the things we needed for a family of 5- from kitchen tools, to games, to ample towels and blankets. It was extremely clean, and the host was responsive and was a great communicator. The fresh eggs in the fridge were amazing and added to the welcoming feel of the home. Thank you for a great weekend!

This was one of the best rental experiences we have ever had. The property was extremely clean, quiet and well-equipped. There was plenty of space for our group of 3. (As noted in the description, the stairs are narrow.) The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and well appointed. We enjoyed our time here!

Alles war perfekt! Was für ein tolles Haus auf großem hübschen Grundstück. Wir waren zu siebt und hatten alle sehr viel Platz. Die Kinder haben im Garten gespielt, die Küche hatte alles, was man braucht. Einzig ein BBQ-Grill fehlte. Aber dafür gab's einen großen Backofen. Das Beste war der Kamin im gemütlichen Wohnzimmer. Und Sarah war sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Hat immer schnell geantwortet!! Vielen Dank und bis zum nächsten Mal

A Real Home Away From HomeOf all the VRBO places we have stayed at over the years, this is by far the best. We felt right at home ( 4 adults and 1 dog). The farmhouse was very clean and had everything we needed for a 10 day stay. The house, furniture and appliances were all in great condition. The host was accommodating for an early check-in. The surrounding corn fields and farms made a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The location was close enough to several towns which made it convenient for grocery shopping, eating out, visiting relatives and going to church. If we need a place in the future in this location, we would stay here again.

We absolutely loved staying here! The beds are comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the stay was just easy. The weather on the few days we spent here was quite pleasant, and I really enjoyed being out in the yard by the fire pit or even just on the back porch. If we come to this part of Wisconsin again, I would definitely stay here if it is available.

This quaint farm house has been very nicely remodeled and furnished. It worked well for our group of 7 from age 1 to age 66. Particular amenities we appreciated were the dozen farm fresh eggs in the fridge, extra toiletries in both bathrooms, firewood set up for a campfire (that we utilized), a well-stocked tea and coffee area, and some toys for kids. The house has three separate gathering spaces, including the front room that is great for games and kids playing. The yard is spacious and well cared for, but you might hear the farm equipment behind the house running during the day. If you have small children, the host will provide gates for the steep stairs to the 2nd floor, but a high chair or booster chair was not available. The 2F bathroom is attached to the master bedroom so other guests may need to use the 1F bathroom. Overall it worked well for our group!

Magical Stay

Very cool old farm house, many thoughtful amenities, conveniently located - close to the city while still being remote. And in the summer evenings, the cornfields and yard were lit up with fireflies. Absolutely lovely stay. Highly recommend!

Wedding Party Celebration visit

The house is exactly as the VRBO pictures show. The location was perfect for us. The yard is huge and eventhough no fence it was no problem our dogs just loved the openness BUT we did stay out there with them. The owner left us fresh eggs to use if wanted and we did. The coffee pot and the toaster oven worked like a champ. We used the stove for the eggs, it is electric not gas. There were plenty of utensils along with pots and pans. The stairs are steep as they do mention but doable for most. There is a downstairs couch that pulls out to a bed to help accommodate for that if needed plus having a bathroom upstairs and downstairs was a plus.We do recommend this place to stay at. We would stay again if need and available.

Great location with easy access to dining and shopping. The farm house has been updated and is well stocked with beyond just the necessities, really with most everything you could think of. Great hosts and beautiful porch and yard. Hope to stay again.

We had a perfect stay and wonderful family Christmas celebration at the farmhouse. They think of every detail to easily feel at home, even a Christmas tree with decoration throughout, and the space is so comfortable and inviting.

Little Piece of Paradise

This is an excellent house! The host has thought of absolutely everything right down to leaving us fresh farm eggs. It is decorated beautifully and really gives you the feeling of home. Sarah (the host) was so accommodating to let us extend our check out time by four hours due to our truck being in the shop. Thanks again Sarah!!
