The Sportsman’s Lodge is a rustic and relaxing modern getaway with all the conveniences you are accustomed to but surrounded by the gorgeous Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. Enjoy the relaxing countryside at this waterfront property, while still being only a short drive away from Sand Bridge Beach. Sit back in our jetted bathtub and watch as deer eat under the pear trees right outside. Get a workout in at our gym or watch the sunrise on our deck overlooking the Back Bay Wildlife Refuge. Spend the night watching fireflies or get out and about at one of the many local restaurants offering some of the best seafood you will ever have! If you are looking to get away from the standard Virginia Beach Boardwalk tourist experience and get back to nature, this is the place for you.

Free kayaking to Back Bay, access to fishing and crabbing.

The pool is open for summer!!!

We decided to visit the area as a last minute trip and were so glad we did. The house was perfect for our needs. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out over the wildlife refuge, listening and watching all the birds. We played pool in the evenings, and took the kayaks out into the marsh. We even saw a beaver. It is not far from Sandbridge and Virginia Beach activities. There was plenty of space to walk our dog, too. Very peaceful.

Relaxing getaway for Fourth of July weekend!

Stayed here with friends for the Fourth of July weekend. Super relaxing, we loved seeing all the animals run around! There is not much to do in the immediate area but it was a relaxing jumping off point for the rest of our trip.

We came for a wedding but the fishing was a hit!!!!

Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The views are stunning, the accommodations are comfortable, great location. And when traveling with a 12 year old boy, the fishing is on point!!!

Great stay with wonderful views

Our stay was a great overall experience! The property was clean, well-maintained and exactly as described. Perfectly suited for our needs with the added bonus of the gorgeous Bay views. Very convenient check-in and check-out process and the host was very responsive and helpful. Will absolutely look into staying again next time we visit the area!

Quiet place away from the city

Best kept secret!

Beautiful property, spacious house, and serene surroundings with great views of the changing foliage. Lots of space for playing, walking and hiking with the dogs. Washer and dryer were a plus. Convenient check in and check out. Pool table, fireplace and gymnasium, make this experience a must for everyone!

Very comfortable stay

We really enjoyed our time at this property! The property itself is beautiful, and the chickens, geese, and pigs were adorable and fun to watch. Our pup loved running around the yard. We had a good time with the billiards table and the pool. My husband and son had a great time exploring the backwater in the kayaks. Angelique is a great host and was very quick to respond to our questions. There was a small issue with one of the couches that she remedied very quickly for us. Would definitely stay again!

Great property

Enjoyed our stay. Master bedroom and bath very nice. Only problem is 2 bedrooms downstairs, second bedroom has to come through the master to use bathroom or go upstairs to 1/2 bath. No full kitchen but sufficient kitchenette. Could definitely use a larger refrigerator. Overall we had a great time. My husband enjoyed fishing in the backyard. Interaction with owners was nice. She gave suggestions for restaurants that were very good.

Sportsman’s Paradise!

The accommodations and decor resemble a sportsman’s lodge. Master bedroom includes, comfortable king size bed, huge tiled shower with jacuzzi tub, fireplace and more. Secondary bedroom is comfy with country decor. Upstairs’ has a double sided fireplace, comfy couches, bar, pool table, outdoor deck and many window views. This property is a fisherman’s paradise.Kayaks available that channel for many acres provides awesome fishing. Angelique the property Manager is very accommodating. Washer & dryer in the property too. Highly recommend this experience

Excellent and quiet

Absolutely loved the stay. Its about 30 minutes to everything you want on virginia beach. We ate breakfast at the bee and the biscuit and the red head cafe. Blue petes was also on point for a casual dinner. All of these places are close and were exceptional. The house is very clean and beautiful. The property is quiet. There isnt a kitchen, but the bar has a hot plate and basics if you wanted to cook, but honestly the places that are available near by offer reasonable prices for what we deemed to be great food. The only thing better than this place is Angeliques communication. The host is very responsive and kind. This was my first vrbo, and we hope to come back again next year!
