El Log Homestead está muy bien escondido en el bosque, sentado en ochenta acres de tierra. Desde la cubierta posterior puede mirar y disfrutar de la abundante vida salvaje mientras cena algo. La casa está amueblada con una acogedora sala de estar con ventanas que dan al exterior, así como una cocina completa que seguramente complacerá. Hay una cama queen size en el dormitorio principal de arriba, una cama matrimonial en el dormitorio de invitados abajo y dos camas queen en el loft de arriba. Además, hay un baño completo abajo con bañera de hidromasaje y un baño arriba con ducha. También hay una lavadora y secadora para su conveniencia. Log Homestead está situado entre dos hermosos lagos, Six Mile Lake y Bog Lake, ambos disponibles para el público, donde puedes practicar kayak y nadar con los loons. Está a solo veinticinco minutos del océano en el Parque Estatal Roque's Bluffs y a diez minutos de un hermoso sendero escénico, el Sunrise Trail. Nice place!

This was a clean well kept cabin . My only criticism is the living room furniture was not comfortable. The rest of the place was nice. The beds were comfortable . The place was well equipped and good. The location quiet and peaceful. I would recommend this place!

Cabin in Maine

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin in downeast Maine. The listing had both pros and cons. Among the pros, the house was very clean and is well constructed. It has a very nice gas grill on the patio. The view from the patio overlooks woodlands, so you don't see a road or other houses when sitting on the patio, even though the cabin is close to a main road. The cabin is within about a mile of two lakes, which we used for swimming and paddle-boarding. It is also a short drive from Machais, which has a number of nice restaurants. The biggest negative was the furniture in the cabin, which was very uncomfortable. The couches in the living room are very low to the ground and have a thin cushion through which you can easily feel the round wooden slats. The furniture around the table on the patio consists of flimsy plastic chairs. We found the wicker chair on the patio to be the only comfortable place to sit. The bed in the downstairs bedroom is also extremely uncomfortable and small, and again very low to the ground. The bed in the loft is an air mattress. Both would have been uncomfortable to share with two people. Fortunately we only had four people in our group, but it would have been difficult to sleep six in this cabin. While the listing was advertised as having 80 acres, only about one acre of land around the house is at all accessible. The yard was filled with a lot of junk, including two car bodies, an empty refrigerator, lots of barrels, a large steel box, etc. While it had internet, it was very slow and the connectivity was poor. The cabin has a nice TV, but the internet was so weak that programs kept stopping to buffer. However, there is a DVD player in the house and a Redbox at the local Hannafords, so we watched a lot of movies.

Lovely remote cabin

We loved getting away from everything. The full kitchen and room to relax made our vacation just what we needed. Hosts were quick to respond anytime we reached out.

We loved our stay! The home was beautiful and the surrounding area is breathtaking.

We had such a great time. The home owner was so quick to respond with anything I needed. She was nothing but kind. We brought two kids with us and they had a lovely time playing in the backyard. We visited the near by beaches which we reasonably close. We had a great stay and we would absolutely rent here again.

Great Stay

We had a great stay. It was a little difficult finding the house the first time coming from Machias. The lobster floats were hidden by the trees.

Lovely place to unplug

We had such a wonderful time in Chris and Diane’s homestead cabin. The house was very comfortable and clean. It is very remote, so do be prepared for no cell service. It was a perfect place to escape to from NYC, and a great opportunity for my partner and I to reconnect with each other and be together with no disruptions. Easy to get to Bar Harbor for a day trip, close to amazing hiking, coves, and coastal scenery. Definitely would stay here again.

We had an amazing time in Maine. So glad we found this beautiful cabin. It was clean and very comfortable for our family. Located in a perfect spot. We were able to see Maine and enjoy it.

BEAUTIFUL LOG CABIN AND SCENIC AREA

Having stayed the previous year at Chris and Diane's vacation home (property listing #3742163) near Lubec, ME, we decided this year to visit their other "Down East" vacation home close to Machias, ME. As described and seen on the photos, amenities will abound during your stay at their beautiful "Log Homestead". The lovely village of Machias is nearby for you to explore at your leisure. Jasper beach (where you can actually lay on the warm sunbaked flat stones) and Roque's Bluff State Park are just a short drive away. Swimming, kayaking and other outdoor activities are possible at the ocean beaches. If you prefer at the lakes, both Six Mile Lake and Bog Lake are just minutes away from the homestead. I personally enjoyed hiking and biking the Sunrise Trail, but many other leisure and sport activities are yours for the choosing. One can also take a nice day trip to visit Acadia National Park and the picturesque town of Bar Harbor. I think what is most unique having stayed at the 'Log Homestead' is you have the benefit of two worlds. On one hand you have the beautiful , peaceful and private setting of a complete cabin in the woodlands of Maine and on the other, you have the nearby boundless activities that this area has to offer. Thank you again for allowing us to share in your beautiful home.

Quiet and peaceful.... WOW

Private, peaceful and serene. A quiet getaway nestled in the wilderness yet close enough amenities to keep the family occupied should you seek outside activities which are all only minutes away. Downtown shopping as well as tidal ocean bays are minutes away. Cabin is everything that one would imagine a Downeast Log Cabin to be, but with all the modern conveniences. Great place to make some memories..
