A Beauty At Sunrise

This was our 5th year staying in A Beauty At Sunrise. We honestly can't imagine staying anywhere else. The house is right on Haley Pond with a huge yard going down to the water - great for kayaking, floating in the pond or lounging by the dock. It's also in walking distance to town, which we love. We can go for a leisurely walk, take a run to Rangeley Lake or walk to & from the shops & restaurants. We already can't wait until next year's trip!

Walking distance to town. Short drive to Quill Hill, Saddleback Peaceful. Well equipped. Would def go back!

A Great Place to Stay!

We really enjoyed our time at A Beauty at Sunrise. The accommodations would be wonderful in any season. We were there specifically to visit Saddleback for skiing. The property has a lot to offer and the layout is great for large groups given the separation of bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms (one on each level). The deck and fireplace were great. The kitchen was fully equipped. We used it a lot. Thank you!

Great location

A Beauty at Sunrise was a great location with plenty of room for the family to spread out when everyone needed some private time. The teenagers enjoyed the game room and the opportunity to have a space of their own. Coffee on the deck each morning with the sun rising over the pond was ideal. As no motorized watercraft are allowed on the pond, the location was extremely peaceful.

Fabulous Spot!

We had an excellent girls' weekend at the house! The house has a great layout, lots of place to sleep and spread out and a deck with a gorgeous view and a picnic table for outdoor meals. The house was well stocked with kitchen supplies, essentials and even outdoor toys and games. It's so close to downtown, there are many beautiful options for outdoor exploration nearby, and the pond was great for a dip. You might want to bring water shoes or sandals to help navigate the slippery rocky bottom by the dock.

Always a pleasure

This would be a five star review if it weren't for concerns with the dock. The dock for many years has slowly began to deteriorate to the point where we consider it a safety hazard for our children. The property is gorgeous and so accommodating to her needs. Other than feeling OK to access the water from that dock, it's perfect.

A Beauty at Sunrise - July

This was our second year in a row staying at A Beauty at Sunrise & we've already booked the house again for next year! It has everything we need & is in the perfect location. It's right on Haley Pond, a short walk to town & an even shorter drive. If you turn right out of the driveway, it's a great road for moose watching too. This year our vacation was a little different than normal - we brought our dog with us! He loved getting in the water so much that we spent much more time at the house than usual, spending most of our days with a walk to town in the morning to enjoy baked goods from Classic Provisions & then spending the afternoons lounging by the pond or floating in the kayaks enjoying how much fun the dog was having. I highly recommend this property & Morton & Furbish!

Relaxing week

We had a relaxing week in Rangeley. The house was close and in walking distance to downtown. We were greeted with deer on the property most mornings. The house itself was nice and spacious but there were ants in the kitchen, evidence of mice in the garage and something in the ceiling in the upstairs queen bedroom. Not all beds were comfortable but the convenience of the linen package was nice. The description should be updated to note that the pond is not swimmable but you can canoe or kayak once you get over the rocky shore. Overall, we enjoyed our stay visiting local swimming spots, scenic views and enjoying the large yard and porch at night.

A Beauty at Sunrise

A Beauty at Sunrise certainly lived up to its name! Sunrise is quite early in Rangeley & most days we missed it, but the day we went home we were up early enough to see it & it was amazing! And even if you miss sunrise, the sun over the mountains in the morning is beautiful. We very much enjoyed our stay (July 2021). The house listing was accurate. The weather was not great the week we were there but when we were stuck inside, the house was accommodating. There was room for the 4 of us (all adults) to hang together or be separate. The view to the pond was great. We've stayed in the house next door the last few years & had gotten used to having a momma & baby deer living in the woods between the 2 houses. This year momma was back with TWO babies! We love being right on the pond so we can leave our kayaks by the water & go out whenever we feel like & we also love the closeness to town so we can walk there every day. I would stay here again for sure!

Loved it!

My husband and I stayed with our dog for 3 nights. The house is spacious with many rooms, would also be very comfortable for a large family. We loved the wood walls and ceiling, and everything felt very cozy. We used the canoe on the property and paddled around the pond. I texted the property manager a few times with questions and she was very prompt with answers and assistance. We love adventuring in Rangeley - hiking, excellent restaurants, museums, scenic drives and a fly and dine. Would definitely stay here again.

Our Review

Lovely location, but very challenging to launch kayaks from the dock. Difficult reading in the evening in a very dark living room (I head to use a headlamp) Dishwasher worked first night, but then failed us. Grill failed us as well (kudos to the person who brought us a new tank very soon after we called - but the grill still didn't work).

Perfect!

This was the perfect location. It offered an easy walk into town while feeling private and secluded. And so much wildlife! We had daily visits from does with fawns, herons and even a bald eagle. The house itself offered everything we needed and space for everyone. A true home away from home. Absolutely loved it.

Great place all around.

This house sits on a great waterfront lot on a quiet access road, it's a very private and serene setting. House layout has nice flow with lots of places to gather or go separate ways for gaming or reading in solitude. We used the kitchen every day and it felt like home. Beds were comfortable and 3 large bathrooms was a big plus when needed (all at once). Great deck and screened porch have water view front and center. We've stayed at the house next door a few times and always wanted to stay at this home, so glad it was available. Will definitely stay here again.

Spacious and Convenient with nice view

A Beauty at Sunrise was spacious, comfortable, very clean and well-equipped. We liked the convenience of a short walk into town for lunch or dinner. Morton & Furbish was very responsive; the thermostat for the gas fireplace was broken and we called about that and a repairman arrived in 15 minutes! On Sunday morning! The one deficiency is a lack of good light for reading in the evening after dark. We are a family of readers. One or two strategically placed floor lamps would help. We highly recommend Morton & Furbish and will use them for future stays in the Rangeley area. We dined at Parkside & Main, Sarge's Spots Pub and Furbish Brew House who all enforced mask requirements, which we appreciated.

Thank you

Once again, I want to thank all the folks at Morton & Furbish for being so friendly and attentive during our stay. You went above and beyond the call of duty to answer our every need. It was a delight to discover the Rangeley lakes area, and I feel sure we'll be back. This was the first break I've had from the pandemic since it began, and the first time I've seen my daughter's family since my second granddaughter was born in February. I will definitely use Morton & Furbish for future rentals and will recommend you to friends.
