Milam Ridge: Modern Cabin Escape. Hot Tub, Covered Deck, Fire Pit

Escape to our modern industrial-chic-ish cabin nestled in the woods. A wilderness haven where contemporary and creative design meets nature face-to-face. Disconnect from the modern world, find inspiration, and create lasting memories. Embrace rustic elements, sleek lines, and raw textures. Renew creativity, bond with friends and loved ones, and embark on thrilling adventures while immersing yourself in the serenity of nature's embrace. Milam Ridge offers all of these experiences and more.

Our 2BR 2 Bath property is situated on 1.5 stunning acres facing a steep back yard where all you can see from the deck looking out is woods, nature, trees. Bask in our spa, take a shower under the stars in our outdoor shower, and relax on bright covered deck. Cook inside or out with our outdoor kitchen and grill area or fully equipped kitchen.
Comfy beds await you in the evening. The entire place is my creative wonderland. I have pushed my limits to be as creative as possible with my current knowledge and abilities to bring you a fun and quirky take on the traditional cabin. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as I enjoyed laboring to create it.

Guests have full access to the main cabin and everything therein except the 2 locked utility closets in the main bathroom and a few locked storage boxes throughout. Guests also have full use of the adjacent mini-cabin along with the adjoining deck and hot tub area. Guests are welcome to use the fire pit area and dog run/fenced yard and the areas of the yard around the fenced area. Our storage shed is off-limits as is the neighboring property to the south where a camping site is being constructed adjacent to the lower parking area.

I or my property manager will be no more than a booking site message, text message, or call away during your stay. I do not live in the area but the neighbors are very friendly and I have arranged with one of them to help out with immediate on-site needs. I do frequently visit the cabin and the area so I may be available in-person but that will vary.

We currently only allow bookings from guests aged 25 and over.

Everything stood out, the host, the home, the amenities and all associated with it. Milam Ridge is exceptional, the host has created a place of exceptional beauty, comfort, peace & tranquility!! Everything that you could possibly need or want in this setting has been thought of and provided so all you have to do is show up and enjoy!!

This cabin is 100% just as the other reviews said!! So clean, so well stocked, the dog run was better than expected. Even the pots and pans were luxurious!! Had a great time with family. We had all that we needed. The cabin was clean, the deck and dog area was spacious, the fire pit was fun for making s’mores. Too hot for the hot tub but was private and nice. Having the two separate cabins gave all some privacy at night to unwind from the day.

The most unique,cozy & relaxing cabin we have stayed in. Off the beaten path and in a very quiet secluded area! We loved watching the wildlife from the gorgeous deck, listening to the coyotes howl at night from the hot tub, and viewing the stars from the outdoor shower. Host communication was fantastic! Property was very clean and extremely well stocked. The attention to detail throughout the cabin was exceptional! If you’re looking for relaxation this is the place for you!

This cabin was an absolute dream stay in West Virginia! The view alone was breathtaking — wide, peaceful, and the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The cabin itself was immaculate, with such mindful placement of everything. You can tell so much thought and care went into every detail. The design was truly one of a kind, with gorgeous woodwork throughout. Each piece of wood, from the beams to the finishes, had its own unique character, making the cabin feel warm, inviting, and unlike anywhere I’ve stayed before. It’s clear that this cabin was built with love. Whether you’re planning a romantic trip, a family vacation, or bringing your dog along, it’s set up beautifully for all. I brought my dog, and I can’t say enough about how perfect it was — the separate fenced-in area let him run freely, and he could roam on the patio safely without me worrying at all. If you’re looking for a quiet, thoughtfully designed, and welcoming escape surrounded by nature, this cabin is it. I can’t wait to come back!

This was my first time using VRBO myself and I was deeply impressed. This property is not only accurately reflected in its photos, it is even nicer in person. Little details... the scent of the unit, the sweet sound of rain drops on the roof, the ample firewood, and the detailed organization add so much charm to this property. Everything we needed was there, and labeled for an easy find. While so many rentals are tired and worn, everything about Milam Ridge was fresh, crisp, and cared for. The hot tub was delightful, as was the hammock. The fire pit was beautiful. We cooked a detailed dinner one night and were impressed with the utensils and spices, etc. This does not feel like renting a home... it more feels like when a stylish, curated, and generous friend throws you the keys to their getaway. My infant son, dogs, and wife all found enjoyment, and we plan to return in the future, as well as encourage others (from Baltimore, DC, Pittsburgh, and Philly) do the same. We also enjoyed getting there. The host was very communicative and attentive.

Hidden Gem – Peaceful, Thoughtful, and Truly One-of-a-Kind

From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the beauty and craftsmanship of this cabin. Every detail—from the layout to the woodwork—was thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. You can tell a lot of love and intention went into creating this space.The peacefulness of the back deck was exactly what we needed. Sitting out there, surrounded by trees and nature, we truly felt like we were away from it all. It’s secluded in the best way—private and quiet, yet still close enough to anything you might need.One of the highlights for us was the outdoor shower. It was such a fun and refreshing experience, and it’s inspired us to think about building one at home! The mix of nature and comfort throughout the entire property was perfect.Our dog, Wyatt, had the time of his life exploring the outdoor space. It was like a sniffing adventure park for him. It made us so happy to see him enjoying himself in a safe and open area.Overall, this was more than just a place to stay—it was an experience. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already talking about when we can return. Highly, highly recommend to anyone looking for a quiet escape with charm, comfort, and character.

Perfect getaway for a couple

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this cabin, which combined rustic charm with all the modern amenities you could ask for. The kitchen was fully equipped, making meal prep a breeze, while the living area was cozy and relaxing. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the bathrooms were spotless. We spent hours on the porch, it felt like our own little peaceful retreat. The cabin’s location offered seclusion but wasn’t too far removed. Every detail was thoughtfully designed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. We’re already planning our next visit — it’s hard to imagine a better way to disconnect and recharge! Even more peaceful and dog-friendly than expected!

My husband, two dogs, and I loved everything about our 3 day stay here. The house and large deck were just gorgeous, with a great, uninterrupted backyard view of the woods and a stream; it felt like a breath of fresh air and we all felt very at peace there. It was slightly hard to tell from the pictures, but there was a huge fenced in yard the dogs loved. The house was stocked with everything we could have possibly needed, plus more that showed the owner put a lot of thought and intentionality into making the place ready for guests. If you stay, go to Wild Roots Cafe and spot eagles on the Potomac Scenic Railroad.

We loved staying at this cabin in April. This cabin has so many thoughtful details and beautiful views. Both of my teenagers already want to know when we can come back, which is a glowing recommendation from them as well. Thanks for the great trip!

Incredible Escape

Had an incredible time at Milam Ridge. The property itself had an amazing architectural layout that you can tell a lot of planning went into, plenty of things to do, and was in a very quiet/peaceful area in the woods. The owner responded to all inquiries promptly and clearly, and was very helpful throughout our stay.Our stay was perfect without any issues, and we intend to come back!

Perfect weekend away

We thoroughly enjoyed the property and our stay. The small details and use of building materials had us pointing things out all weekend. Was probably one of the cleanest homes we’ve rented. You really could just pack clothes and a toothbrush, they have thought of everything! The kitchen was fully loaded which was nice considering we didn’t need to buy spices for one meal, if you cook when traveling then you know what I mean! We would love to come back to make better use of the outdoor space (it was a tad too windy for an outdoor fire). We spent a ton of time in the hot tub, playing board games by the indoor fireplace and exploring some of West Virginia. There’s a small town about 15 minutes away which was convenient. We visited Wild Roots cafe daily their pastries and coffee were delicious (we even brought some home). So if you’re looking for a little getaway from the responsibilities of life then look no further and book it! Brett was exceptional with everything and very quick to respond. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!
