Hermosa casa de cuatro habitaciones y dos baños situada en un acantilado del agua.

Great hunting cabin/lodge. Very accommodating and comfy. Our only complaint was trying to open the fridge… the counter was a little close but we made it work! Bummer the water level was down but we still had a great time! Would absolutely go again!!! Host was easy to talk with and very helpful being new to the area!

Relaxing weekend

This property was perfect for a nice quiet getaway. The property owner was very helpful especially since there were severe storms right before our stay. The house was beautiful and the deck was perfect to relax and enjoy the view.

A Perfect Family Getaway at Lake Mac

We had a delightful 4th of July weekend at this charming VRBO in Lewellen, NE. The home was clean, well-equipped, and beautifully situated on Lake Mac. great property for family get-together - as described on VRBO: clean, comfy, plenty of room, AC worked great, access to all we wanted at Lake Mac for a June weekend. Owner was very easy to work with, and provided us with some nice "breaks" that made the experience AOK.

Met Our Needs

We had a quick stay at the property; only two nights. But we were happy with the accommodations. It was a convenient location for what we wanted to do at the lake. The host was very responsive to questions we had prior to our arrival and we enjoyed our time there. The grill and deck were essential for our enjoyment.

Nice place on the lake.

Overall we were pleased w our stay. Host was very responsive and communicated well. We’ve stayed at places before at lake Mac that were more updated but this place worked well for our family. I’d say this is more of a rustic place and maybe even a hunters cabin feel. Some really cool wildlife mounts on the wall. I’d stay again.

Great getaway!

We really enjoyed our stay. Very relaxing and quiet! I would point out that there is more than a few steps to the sand because you have to go around a few houses to get there. Also, if the water is low, just be aware that there is no water near the cabin. This is obviously out of the control of anyone but worth noting. This did not affect our stay in any way though, it’s a short drive to other great swim/beach areas. We look forward to a return trip in the future! Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again!

So spacious, perfect for families!

This home was fantastic for our getaway. The layout was great for two families...each floor has it's own master with a 3-4 person bedroom right across the hall and a bathroom in between. Loved the gameroom downstairs, it was enjoyed by the little kids and the teenagers equally! The views from the large wrap-around deck were beautiful and the large paved driveway was ideal for parking all of our vehicles and trailer, as well as plenty of space to hose off all of the sand after an awesome day at the lake. It was a very short drive to the boating dock and the beach, it could not have been easier to access. The property manager was great, anything we needed she was available. This property will be at the top of our list for our next trip to Big Mac, we had a wonderful time!

Met minimum expectations

The house was clean. Plenty of beds. There is no internet which I should have read closer to find out. They normally have dish for TV, but an electrical storm knocked that out. Owner was kind enough to let us know and we brought some dvds for the kids as back up. The house is quite far from water...at least a couple miles walk. There is only one shower, the second bathroom is just a tub. In summer, upstairs is very bright early and stays pretty warm. We appreciated the washer/dryer and dish washer. The deck is really nice for sitting outside in the evening. Overall good stay.

Left 6 days early

Our family booked the property for seven days and we left after staying one night. We lost power due to a storm, but with no air conditioning and windows that don’t open and Old, broken screens that don’t keep the thousands of bugs out, we had a miserable night with terrified children. The property is filthy and there’s a train that runs by multiple times in the middle of the night blaring a horn. The beach was covered with trash, dead fish and debris. I would not recommend this property for families with children. Property was not as advertised, we will be working diligently for a refund.

Dirty Dirty Dirty

OMG this place was so dirty. There were cobwebs and bugs in all the windowsills. The kitchen had limited dishes and glasses and everything was dirty. The water dispenser on the fridge was disgusting. The towels were old and there was no supply of toilet paper. The neighbor had to bring some over. The shower downstairs was so cheap and old and leaked. We had to wear flip flops because the floor was so wet and gross. I suggest the owner does a super duper deep clean before renting this place out again. All the bedding. linens and towels should be replace. And please please clean those disgusting window sills.

Goodness....Monica, your helpful comments will be taken into consideration. FYI...the "neighbor" handles the post stay cleaning and responded quickly to your needs. Bugs? I have owned the house for 22 years and aside from an occasional fly, have never seen a "bug" in the house other than a fly. Perhaps we should keep sliding screen doors closed to keep them out? Why would it have taken so long for you to let me know about all your issues....nearly a year? Guests staying just before, and just after your stay were much more satisfied...I feel there must be something else motivating this very tardy notice.

damage deposit has not been returned and owner does not return calls or emails

we spent 1 week at the property and although it was not in the best of shape, it provided a place for us to come back to after spending our days on the water. When the lake is full, this property would be considered 'lake front' - however I think it's been quite a while since the lake reached that far up. It is mostly marsh and weeds now. We had to travel 10 miles before being able to find water deep enough to launch our boat. That being said, the owner assured us our deposit was being returned to us, and as of today, 10/12/2013 we are still waiting to receive it. Even though the contract assures the return of the deposit within 14 days of departure, we are still waiting for this and it's been 57 days.

Cher, You have your deposit, which was returned (after being held) in spite of damage done to our property. Your refund was made only due to the fact that I could not definitely determine who did the damage.

Spacious enough for two families to enjoy without being cramped!

The house worked out great for a two family vacation with kids! We had great weather all except the last day we wanted to go the the lake! That day was cloudy and cold, but we ventured to the lake anyways for a little while and the kids could have cared less! They got in the water and the coldness never bothered them one bit. The house was large enough for everyone to spread out! The adults especially loved the downstairs with air hockey table and it was a great place to send the kids to play! The kids loved it! The only thing that produced a small challenge was that the refrigerator door could not open fully as it hit the counter! Otherwise all was great! Fully equipped kitchen was nice! The washer and dryer was also a nice added benefit! The property manager was wonderful and very helpful! We had one crazy late afternoon storm where we lost power (the whole area lost power) for about 2 1/2 hours but I must say the power company was out working on it right away! It was close to getting dark when the power did come back on! In preparation for the darkness we looked for flashlights and candles as we did not know how long the power would be out. We could not find many flashlights or candles, so that probably would be my one recommendation. On our next trip to Lake Mac we will definitely check availability on this Lake house! A great time was had by all!

Great Visit!

We had a great time at the property! The other reviews cover anything I would already say. The lake was low while we were visiting, so wish the house was closer to lake access, but that is no fault of the owner. We had a few rainy days while there, and the house was set up nice for us to play games and watch the lightning show at night from either the deck or inside the house. We found everything we needed during the stay! Thanks!

Nice rustic getaway

We loved the hunting/fishing decor and mounts. Well stocked kitchen. Close enough to good beaches. Enjoyed the air hockey table downstairs. Plenty of room for our group of 8. Would stay here again!

Location Great - Cleanliness and Amenities Not So Much

This was our second year doing an extended weekend with family. We selected this VRBO because it had more rooms and another bathroom which would accommodate our group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The kitchen is SMALL. If you want to open the fridge it blocks the little area where you wash dishes and/or cook. The fridge door does not open all the way and hits the counter making it extremely difficult to load/unload. The only shower is downstairs and the shower door is a piece of hard plastic that doesn't shut all the way; therefore water splashes out on a carpeted area. We had to find a fan to keep in the bathroom to dry out the area. There were sandburs in the carpet so we had to keep shoes on the entire time or risk getting them in our feet. There were dead insects and dust on the ledges of the windows. The grill didn't work. A lot of other little things. It was located right by the water (unfortunately, it was low this year but that's not the owner's fault) which was nice. We still had a good time but we were disappointed in this VRBO.

We are a family of five with three teenagers! We live in Lakewood, Colorado and for the past 19 summers, spent nearly every weekend at the lake house.
We have a Senior at The University of ALABAMA, a recent high school graduate, and a HS Junior, all of whom are involved in many team sports that keep us busy. Although we love the lake, scheduling has made it tough for us to get away as much as we would like. Which has prompted us to consider renting the house.

Our family has grown up spending nearly every summer weekend at the lake house. We are avid boaters, jet skiers, and fishermen.

We love the area and the 'Daytona Beach' like white sand beaches around nearly every foot of the lake.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Our house is situated in a quiet area steps from the sand, that offers enjoyable evenings and opportunity to host nightly beach bonfires! NO ON SITE FIRES.

The house is close to the Marina Landing restaurant, hotel, and bar, which allows you to skip preparation of dinner if you so choose.

If you forgot something, about a mile away, is a little convenience store that boasts, 'We're kinda like a little Wal Mart; if we don't have it, you probably don't need it!'

Enjoy beach access right in front of the house, or take a short drive to the Martin Bay area if you want to find the crowd! Lake Mac is a 'commuter' lake, due to fluctuating water levels, you may need to drive a short distance to a boat ramp or beautiful sandy beach.
