Nueva Inglaterra Lake House Vacation

Esta casa frente al lago de cuatro estaciones es la escapada perfecta. Gran terraza con vista al lago, hamaca para relajarse y gran muelle con pesca y bote de remos. Fuente de agua cristalina. Perfecto para pescar (lleno de lobina negra), nadar, remar en bote o simplemente sentarse en la cubierta y disfrutar de las hermosas vistas. Este lago no tiene acceso público: las únicas personas en el lago poseen casas en el lago. El famoso Antique Ally de New Hampshire está a solo 4,8 km. La playa de Hampton está a solo 20 minutos en coche. El centro de Boston es un viaje de un día fácil (1. 5 horas en coche). Cerca de la montaña blanca y a minutos de los arroyos de trucha. TV por satélite, WiFi de alta velocidad, aire acondicionado, lavadora / secadora, estufa de leña, pozo de fuego, estéreo en la cubierta, arbustos de arándanos, frambuesas y moras. Una habitación con cama de matrimonio, una con dos camas gemelas, un sofá cama, el sótano tiene una cama doble y un futón. Bonito patio de nivel para lanzar una pelota de fútbol o jugar un juego de manoplas malas. El follaje de otoño es absolutamente impresionante. También hay mucho que hacer en invierno: pesca en hielo, esquí, hockey sobre hielo, motos de nieve cercanas.

Todo lo que necesita está incluido: ollas, sartenes, ropa de cama, toallas, etc. La casa se limpia profesionalmente y la lavandería se realiza entre cada huésped.

We had a wonderful time. We spent all our time fishing, sitting on the deck, and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. For us, this week was about getting away from it all and just relaxing and this was the perfect spot for that! The house was just enough for our needs, it was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. As an added bonus, the owner was very nice and easy to contact and the neighbors were so sweet and friendly! We really didn't want to leave and hope to go back again someday!

The house was great, super clean and had tons of amenities. It was so nice having kayaks right there to use. The neighbors were so friendly. Our stay was during some very hot days and the temperature inside was perfect! The pond water was so warm and great to swim in. Overall a wonderful stay!

Lovely stay! Beautiful setting and grat cottage.

We stayed for a week and had a lovely time. Matt (the host) was so helpful and responsive. The cottage is a wonderful place, right on the water, great deck for lounging, grassy lawns, nice dock, and firepit for evening conversation, super easy access in to the lake for all ages. Beautiful sunrise and sunsets. We loved staying here and hope to be back next year.

Nice time

It was good staying here. We are from Utah and traveled to be with family for a 90th birthday. We had a slight issue when we got there with a paint stain on our sheet. I texted the host they responded quickly and had plenty of sheets underneath we were able to switch it out with. Overall really happy with our experience.

The Lake is fantastic!!! Water is clear and we swam almost everyday. My husband (the fisherman) caught a 3-1/2 pound bass off the dock. There's plenty of outdoor floats plus kayaks and a v hull boat for fishing. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was sufficient. (It's really only a one person kitchen) Matt was great to work with, and the neighbors were so friendly and personable they should be included in the amenities! Thanks for great time.

A little gem

Great little cottage on a lake. Kind of a busy road made getting in and out a challenge but with some shoulder wiggle room, no problem. Kitchen is adequate but not fancy. Furniture was terrific. Host was receptive to a few problems and provided immediate response and accommodation. Really great little gem on a lake in a centrally location spot.

My summer vacation

Overall we are happy with our stay!! House was very clean. There was an issue with the boat, beyond anyone's control, which was explained. Beautiful pond, great fishing, swimming, kayaking... I would stay again!!!

Quaint Stay on Private Lake

We enjoyed our stay, and appreciated the fact that there was limited water traffic... we were a little disappointed at the proximity of the property to a heavily used road - there was quite a bit of traffic noise during the commuting hours. Great place if you don't mind traffic noise, though!

Great lake for swimming and boating

We loved our stay at the lake house! The lake was beautiful and clean, the bedrooms were comfortable, and the house was well stocked with helpful items, including water toys and extra linens and towels. We also appreciated that it was dog-friendly and did not have a restrictive visitor policy, and we were able to have our pup stay with us, and have some family friends come for a beach day. The entry into the water is from a dock or a concrete boat launch, and it was great to have use of the canoe and fishing boat. There wasn't a sandy beach, but the swimming area is sandy and relatively free of weeds. The house is located on a busy road, but the speed limit is fairly low. Still, you do hear quite a bit of road noise. The lake side of the house is well separated from the road, however, and we never had to worry about our toddler or our dog wandering into the road. The house is also a close drive to Portsmouth, and we took a couple of trips into town on colder days, plus a day trip to the Children's Museum in Dover. It was great to have so many attractions nearby. The Winnie the Pooh trail is nearby and also worth checking out. We would have given our stay a 5/5, but there were a couple of issues. The listing said that there was a fire pit, but for the week that we stayed there it was missing. There were also some maintenance issues - a rickety water faucet and some broken panels on a glass bedroom door. The living room also just had two chairs, so not great for a group.

Lots of small issues

Nice views of the lake.. easy to access off a main road.. The driveways slants down from the road at 45 degrees with a 4 inch lip from.road being replaced not for low cars and snow. In the summer I am sure it would be fine. The snowblower pull cord broke first storm had to shovel, and use 4 wheel drive to leave. The second set of beds are in the basement which you can only access from outside. I had to level the washing machine for it to spin out and the dryer door didn't stay closed. The only way to keep the door closed was with a bunge cord already attached to the bottom of the dryer and weight in front of it. There are multiple extension cords plugged into other extension cords. My son is 6 foot 1 and couldn't stand up straight to use the toiket( located in main area meaning people staying downstairs need to go outside and up stairs to use.) The furniture was comfortable and good TV service, wifi could not support me working from home without my hot spot. I did speak to owner as I left. He apogized for the snow blower but claims he didn't know about the washer or dryer. For a 2-3 day rental it would work fine but we needed to stay 3 weeks between houses.

Stay away!

I’ve been renting places on VRBO and the like for over 10 years, multiple times per year and in many countries and have never been so badly treated! I have never in my life written a bad review, but I feel it's my duty to do so here! Let's begin with the cottage. No, it's not a house! There so were many little things that I usually overlook, like no washer detergent, no dish detergent, no coffee filters, not really working AC, the most uncomfortable mattresses ever!!!, etc... And don't even get me started on the "professionally cleaned" thing! There was a several months old spider web in the kitchen and cigarette buds all over the yard...The basement was disgusting! No way someone can sleep there! I dreaded going there to do the laundry and flip back on the circuit breaker. Yep, you can't use the microwave while the AC in the bedroom is on. All these are things I could deal with and I didn’t even mention to the owners. What really made me angry and feel unwelcome, is the lack of care from them when there are problems that are important!! After spending two hours shopping and preparing food for the grill, I found out that there was no gas! When I told them, instead of an apology, I got "did you see the spare tank?"! Yes, I did see the spare tank. It was EMPTY!!! It was 8:00 PM already and I had to think of something to cook with two starving teenagers waiting to be fed! There were two reasons I picked this place. I could bring my dog and I could fish from the boat. Well, we took the boat out, but we couldn’t even make to the middle of the lake. The battery was dead! We had to swim back pulling the boat behind us! I obviously sent a text to the owners telling them about it. And what was their reaction? "We will not be back till the end of the week." What? Well, that was a week away and the end of our stay! Any other owner would have apologized and run back the next day with a new battery! Not them! Absolutely indifferent!! They told me I can go to Walmart and buy a battery! I wanted to keep the kids happy, so I actually went, just to find out that they don't have deep cycle batteries! When I contacted the owners about it, there was no response of any kind!!! I mean nothing! Like they were irritated by me! I paid a pretty hefty price to stay a week in a dirty, unequipped shack with terrible beds! I think I had the right to be treated like a customer, not like someone who is bothering them! Find another place!

North River pond

We enjoy our stay It’s was a very nice cottage and we enjoyed The yard. We brought our kayak’s and did a lot of paddling and fishing my husband caught some really big bass Would love to rent again The neighbors were very nice Steve the host was always their to reply if I had a question Thank you The Dion’s

Lake house experience

It took us a few days to get used to some of the working of air conditioners, the lake is very clean and we enjoyed swimming. The master bed very comfortable, Zain the maintenance guy fixed the ac in the living room perfectly. *

We fell in love with this house the first time we saw it and knew it was going to be a great enjoyable get away for the family. We have 3 boys that love the outdoors and spending time fishing.

Fishing is great and pond has limited access that makes it a quiet place to relax and fish. Flat backyard with an easy in and out of the lake for swimming. The deck has amazing views of the large pond.
