Your Dwarskersbos adventure begins at this stylish house. You will find this spacious 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a double garage. Newly built, clean, and well-equipped, this thoughtfully architect designed home will provide you with comfortable and memorable holidays.
The 150 in-a-straight-line steps to the pristine beach area are just far enough to remove most of the bite from the sea breeze. Yet close enough to be there within 3 minutes.
Situated 170 km from the Cape Town International Airport, in a quiet, safe environment, and amongst the friendliest and truest of people.
The property uses solar energy with an 8kW 10kWh installation. An alarm system brings extra peace of mind, for those of us that prefer to make sure.
Uncapped fibre internet ensures that work-holidays are possible, with a Nespresso Pod coffee machine ready to keep the flow of proper coffee going. And an icemaker for an uninterrupted flow of ice. A smart TV is permanently connected to the web, allowing you to log into your own online subscriptions such as Netflix, YouTube, TuneIn, DSTV and similar. Remote controlled ceiling fans ensure comfortable rest during warm nights, whilst electric blankets ensure the same during cold spells. An air conditioner in the living room takes care of sweltering summer days.
The high-end Plamen Nera woodstove, an indoor fireplace (wood supplied by us) and the braai (barbeque) ensure that the weather will never come between you and your fire. Braai outside, if the weather permits. Believe it if you want, but there are such days. A modern top loader washing machine, dishwasher and other contemporary appliances will aid you to have a relaxed stay. A 5-plate gas stove/ electric oven enables gourmet cooking with Baccarat pots to give life to your cooking fantasies, with a 6-seater dining table to enjoy meals and family time. An air fryer takes care of quick meals. The local restaurants (Dwarskersbos and Velddrif) provide for a unique culinary experience. And the seafood dishes are arguably as fresh as you would ever taste.
Now. Imagine that you are seated on our garden bench. It is sunset, and you are facing west or east, the skies magnificently coloured. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. Repeat until you feel the spirit of the West Coast touch your soul. Daily grind and concerns will begin to fade, making you wonder where time disappears to every day…

The property is owned by Hannie and Fred Fryer and we live in Alberton, which is in the Gauteng province of South Africa. We have travelled our friendly, beautiful country extensively over decades and the West Coast always stayed with us.

There is something about this unspoilt part of South Africa that leaves a permanent impression on us. We cannot put our finger on exactly what that might be, but most likely, it would be the near perfect combination of true people, sometimes rugged-looking, but always friendly, nature being unmolested, the family-friendly restaurants and pubs and then, the blue, blue sea.
The occasional visit by a tortoise, is just so impressive. Cars stopping in the middle of the road, creating a traffic jam (ok, of maybe 4 cars) could make you wonder… Closer inspection would show a tortoise crossing the road, and several people protecting it on its journey, until it is safe.
The sunrises and sunsets are just something else. Not always taking your breath away. But when it is one of those renowned events, you might just find the second-by-second changing colour schemes unbelievably beautiful. Like we do. We love sharing all these experiences with people…
