Crosby Dawson was a distinguished Georgian who played multiple roles in the state’s legal and political spheres. Borne in Greene County, Georgia, Dawson was educated at Franklin College which later became the University of Georgia and he studied law under the mentorship of prominent lawyers He was admitted to the bar in 1816 and quickly established himself as a respected attorney.
