Chalet close to lift with breathtaking views!

Chalet le Joyau is a charming 3-bedroom chalet with breathtaking views overlooking the Rhone valley. It is situated in the centre of Nendaz, just 10 minutes from the ski lifts and only 2 hours from Geneva airport.

The chalet's accommodation is on two floors. It is furnished to the highest standards in an unfussy, contemporary style and is generously equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. This includes a Nespresso machine, flatscreen HDMI-TV, high quality hifi andwifi.

Entering from the front garden, the entrance hall and cloakroom lead into a big open plan sitting/dining room and fully fitted kitchen, with windows and balconies on three sides offering stunning views over the Rhone Valley. Downstairs are the three bedrooms and main bathroom as well as the large technical area - for skis and boots and with its own access to the garden.

The chalet has three private car parking spaces including a garage, all next to the chalet.

mooie chalet op een prachtige locatie

Ik ben al meerdere malen naar Nendaz op vakantie geweest,telkens in een andere chalet,maar deze chalet behoort tot de beste waar ik al geweest ben. Heel goede ligging,mooi interieur en alles aanwezig. Zeker een aanrader voor wie de streek van Wallis wilt bezoeken. De vriendelijke eigenaars doen er alles aan om je een leuke vakantie te bezorgen. Voor mij zeker vijf sterren waard!

Haus mit guter Ausstattung, nahe zum Ortszentrum, Station und Bis Weg -Einstieg. Gemütliche Atmosphäre, oft keine Internetverbindung. Sonnige Terrasse zur Straße- beeinträchtigt durch hohen Verkehrsfluss; Balkone an der Rückseite im Schatten. Schöne Sicht ins Tal.

Gemütliches Chalet

Das Chalet "Le Joyau" ist ein sehr schönes und gemütliches Haus, mit einem wunderschönen Panoramablick auf die gegenüberliegende Talseite, auf das Tal und auf das Dorf. Sehr ruhig gelegen, aber dennoch alles gut erreichbar. Mit dem Gratisskibus des Dorfes sind alle Zufahrten zu den Talstationen der Skigebiete und des Dorfes perfekt erreichbar, auch für Nichskifahrer. Das Auto haben wir 1 Woche nicht gebraucht. Das Interieur ist sehr gut und zweckmässig ausgestattet. Das Haus wird sauber und gepflegt gehalten. Der Kontakt zu den Vermietern Rosalind und Robert war absolut sehr freundlich, entspannt und kompetent. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt mit 6 Personen sehr genossen und können das Chalet "Le Joyau" weiter empfehlen. Wir danken Rosalind und Robert für ihre Gastfreundschaft in ihrem Chalet. Gerne werde wir bei einem weiteren Aufenthalt in Nendaz in dieses Haus zurückkehren.

Christmas in Nendaz

What a lovely home. Perfect for our needs (family of 4) with the most breathtaking views. Fully equipped and plenty of room allowing us to have the Christmas that we have always wanted. Warm and cosy inside and Easy walking distance to supermarkets and restaurants and a very short drive to ski lifts, spectacular mountains and snow. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to visit again or day. Thank you.

Great Chalet in the "French" Swiss Alps

Excellent property, well maintained and as described. Excellent private parking. Excellent communication with the owners via email. Supermarkets and restaurants within easy walking distance, also a very nice boulangerie (bakery) close by. We enjoyed hiking, and riding the telepheriques nearby. We also enjoyed the Wednesday market in Nendaz, and the Friday market down in the valley in the town of Sion. I would recommend this chalet to a friend or relative, and would return again.

Perfect position and a wonderful house

A wonderful week away from the attentive owner sending useful info before our trip and answering all of our questions to a house that had everything you could wish for. The property is as described but the views from the balcony have to be seen first hand to do the photos justice. As a first time visitor to Switzerland the walking and views were stunning. There is so much to do both locally around Nendaz and further afield. As dog lovers we enjoyed visiting the St Bernards at the Grand St Bernard Pass (a very picturesque drive of about 1 hour). Although if the weather is kind as it was for us just about all week (25c) the sun rise at Mont Fort was unbelievable. The house itself was in a perfect position for us a short walk from the town on a quiet road. Comfy beds, handy washing machine and dryer and many more small things that made for a wonderful weeks stay. Will definitely return

A beautiful chalet

We were a family of 5 with a 6 year old boy. We had a great holiday and this beautiful chalet made our trips out even better as we knew we were ending our day in this perfect Swiss gem. The chalet was clean comfortable and well equipped. The owners were helpful and friendly and excellent to deal with. None of us had a negative word to say. We couldn't have asked for more. Thank you

Gerne wieder !!!

Wunderschönes Chalet in guter Lage zu Nendaz (10 Gehminuten). Direkt an einer Verbindungsstrasse aber dennoch ruhig und somit auch perfekt erreichbarer Skibus. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut,( ich habe 5 Korkenzieher gezählt, was für den Vermieter spricht :-) ) Die Vermietung und der Kontakt zu Rob und Rose ist absolut problemlos und entspannt, beide geben sich viel Mühe für einen schönen Aufenthalt. Das 4 Vallee ist fantastisch zum Skifahren, es hat für jeden geeignete Pisten. Nendaz hat uns gefallen, es bietet die koplette Infrastruktur (Läden, Spezialitäten, Restaurants, Bars...). Das Auto haben wir 1 Woche nicht gebraucht.

What a wonderful Chalet........

Many thanks for the nice stay in your wonderful Chalet. If you allow we will be glad to return sometimes in the next year. Had never such a well equipped Chalet before. And what a stunning view from the balcony - breathtaking. This is a really great place to relax, or go for the different activities you can do nearby. The Chalet is also ideally located for all people, who like to explore the whole Valais. For example: it takes only 90min to drive to Saas-Fee/ Zermatt, or maybe around 60min to Lake Geneve or Evolene. There is simply nothing to complain about, and the contact to the property owners is very kind. Definitely 5 stars :-)

This home was a delight.

The Chalet le Joyau is a wonderful chalet with panoramic views of the mountains and of the valley below. It was clean, fresh and felt new. The owners' generosity in allowing renters to use the washing machine and dryer was of immeasurable help in our multiweek vacation! We walked to town for dinners, and Haute Nendaz has lots to offer as far as shops and activities, as well as several grocery stores. The owners also forwarded many brochures in electronic formats so that we could plan our activities in the area. We felt completely comfortable in emailing the owner several times and always received a quick response. Far and away the most enjoyable rental experience of our vacation! I recommend this home and these owners highly. Thanks for a wonderful time in your chalet

Perfect holidays

First of all we got a detailed script how to reach the chalet. And .... it worked. Then we were flashed how lovely it was. Overlooking the Rhone valley from the breakfast table, playing Backgammon in the evening with the lights of the valley around - we admired it. The house was perfect for 6 people to live. We really recommend it.

Well-worth the trip from west coast of USA!

Having traveled with HomeAway in Europe for the last seven years, we had high expectations for our trip to Switzerland last summer and staying at Chalet le Joyau. I'm pleased to say that those expectations were far exceeded. The Chalet was absolutely perfect, location spectacular and our 10-day stay was one of the best we have had in Europe. Le Joyau was immaculate, luxurious with every amenity handled and the view from every window, door and spot on the balcony was beyond words. High up in the Swiss Alps, one almost didn't want to sleep for wanting to take in more of the world-class vistas. From the Chalet we ventured off both right in the vicinity (local hiking at Les 4 Vallees and taking in the magic of Nendaz) and then via short drives to some of the brilliance that Valais has to offer, including the baths at Leukerbad, the majesty of Matterhorn and Zermatt, the cheese and chocolate history (and even legacy of Giger) in Gruyeres plus several trips to Montreaux to experience Chateau de Chillon and home of the reknown Jazz Festival. We took our trip in summer, which allowed us to sample some of Switzerland's natural wonders via drives and hiking. It's certainly something when you can say that you hiked the base of Matterhorn and heard alpenhorn and cowbells. All this would would have been impossible without having a "base of operations" as spectacular as le Joyau. Much thanks to Rob and Ros for allowing us to stay at their mountain oasis - we know we'll be back!

Gemütliches Chalet im Freeride Mekka

Ein viel zu schöner Ort, um nach nur einem Wochenende wieder abreisen zu müssen! Wir genossen den strahlend blauen Himmel auf ausgiebigen Entdeckungstouren auf und neben der Piste. Am Abend waren wir froh, dass die leckeren Pizzas gleich "um die Ecke" zu finden waren! Mein erster aber sicher nicht mein letzter Besuch!

Another great stay at Chalet Joyau...

Thoroughly recommended. This is the third time we've stayed at Chalet Joyau. We feel very at home here; it's warm, cosy & family orientated. Nendaz has everything you need. We recommend driving 10 minutes to Siviez for the best access to the ski area.

Astonishing and Beyond Beautiful

We were a family of four and we stayed for three weeks in July 2012. The stay was astonishing and beyond beautiful and we enjoyed many things in the valleys and mountains. The chalet is wonderful with a panoramic view of the valleys. The chalet provides a cozy atmosphere and a great location relative to Nendaz. We did hiking many times in different areas and they were all astonishingly beautiful. I would not miss the paragliding with “Element Air” which was exhilarating and an experience of a life time, if you want to be a bird in the Alps then go for it. We also took our kids for Raspberry and Apricot picking in the fields of Nendaz and we got to know the farmers there. We ventured into France to Montblanc and we visited other wonderful places like Zermatt. The Chalet is strategically located near France and Italy in case you want to do short trips by car. The summer was wonderful in Nendaz with cool weather which is great for hiking trips, we had lots of rain and one day it snowed on top of the mountain above 4000 M. I am sure the Chalet is great for the winter holiday and I would love to have it for a ski trip. Rent and Enjoy. Dr. Basel

Our Christmas stay at Chalet le Joyau

Chalet le Joyau is a homely, welcoming and cosy chalet to stay in. The chalet provides all you require to relax and enjoy your holiday. The property was clean and provided all the information you may need to get around the area. The skiing/ snowboarding in Nendaz was excellent and easily reached by either a free bus (stops near to chalet) or by a 10 minute walk(longer with children). Nendaz itself is abolutely lovely with a good selection of places to eat, drink and shop. Excellent tourism office. This is nothing to do with chalet..... but fly direct to Geneva or Sion, don't do indirect flights (i.e Amsterdam-Geneva). Our luggage was delayed for two days!! Thank you for our enjoyable stay..... Will definitely consider revisiting next season (once my arm heals!!!).

Amazing!

Our experience at this chalet was spectacular! The location was great, the chalet was beautiful, well kept, and clean. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Having a washer and dryer to use was extremely convenient. All the info in the chalet pamphlets was very helpful too, especially when we needed to take our 4 year old to get stitches at the local clinic--great experience, cosidering the circumstances. We also enjoyed the pool and the other activities offered. Adding the pool pass to the amenities of the chalet would have been even better. The only main problem we experienced was with bugs. Since it was summertime and unseasonably warm, we had to have the windows open all the time--the bugs at night were a very big problem since there were no screens on the windows. Overall, it was a beautiful chalet and we had a wonderful time. The management office was very accomodating also as we arrived much later than anticipated. Thank you for an amazing experience, we hope to return again someday in the future!

Wonderful house, brillant view

We enjoyed our holidays in the chalet very much. The interior is tastefully furnished and comfortable, in the kitchen you will find everything you need, the bedrooms are quiet and in the morning you will start the day with a wonderful view to the mountains. At every time of day you can decide to sit in the sun or the shadow on the terrace in front of the house, the balcony at the backside or on the grass besides. The house is at all sides surrounded by a well-kept little garden. The owners desription how everything in the house and the environment works is detailed and very helpful. We have been there without a car and had no problems. You can walk to the next shop in 10 minutes, just a short way after you come to the center of the village where you can find different shops, supermarkets, restaurants and so on. The bus goes to Sion and Siviez from here. You can start a beautiful mountain-tour with the lift from Nendaz station. The only thing we would have missed, if we staid more than 2 weeks, were some other lifts working in summer. The whole area has got many possibilities to go up by lift in winter, but most of them don´t work in summer. So there are so many mountains all around, but you cannot climb up, because there ist no possibility to reach a startposition in an altitude about 2.000 m by lift or bus.

Non stop sun and snow

We just spent a great week skiing the vast expanse of on and off piste skiing offered by Nendaz and the rest of the 4 Vallées. This must be the first time in over 30 years of ski weeks that we had 6 days of perfect weather; long sunny March days, but with cold enough temperatures to keep the snow perfect. Le Joyau offered the perfect environment and comfort to relax and sip a glass of Fendant admiring the breathtaking view (a must see) after a hard day on the slopes. We even managed to fit 11 people round the living room table for a massive cheese fest. Highly recommended.

We keep coming back!

I try to come up to Haute Nendaz once a year for the ski season and have stayed at le Chaley Joyau every time. The chalet is fantastic. It has a spectacular view of the valley and across to the mountains. At sunset you can see the sun reflect off the snow capped mountains and over a glass of wine at the end of an exhilirating day skiing, the chalet is indeed a jewel. It is clean, cozy and comfortable and actually feels like home as it is well furnished and has all the convenience of the amenities you get at home i.e. laundry, dishwasher, microwave. It is also a few minutes walk to the ski lifts and is along the bus route. The skiing is amazing at the 4 valleys and one is never bored. It is great for learning as it offers plenty of runs for different ski levels. After 5 years of skiing I can now ski down mont gelee, mont fort, chassoure and tortin without plowing head first into the snow.

Great in winter or summer

Just got back from a week's skiing in Nendaz, having also been out there for a walking holiday last summer, and I'd happily recommend the resort of Nendaz, Chalet Le Joyau, and the whole 4 Vallees area for a winter or summer holiday. The skiing is a great mix of intermediate cruising and (for me) sometimes scarily demanding off-piste. And I've now been to the top of Mont Fort at opposite ends of the year - it's certainly warmer and requires less adrenalin in the summer! Le Joyau is a lovely chalet, comfy, well laid out and very well looked after. And the views from the balcony at sunset are simply stunning. I'll definitely be back.

Mountain Bike Hols 2009

Our first mountain bike holiday as a family of 5 of average fitness. age range 10 to mid 40's. Chalet can only be described as first class. Resort is ideal for mountain biking and the Mont De Fort Tour has to be done and can be done with a relatively low level of fitness and skill. Other mountain biking options are excellent. Resort was quiet but not 'dead' - excellent supermarkets and resturants. Swimming pool is excellent for an afternoon rest in the sun. Weather can only be described as superb - low 30's all week but nice and cool in the evening.

Summer in Nendaz - not to be missed!

We've stayed at Chalet Le Joyeaux a couple of times in the winter to ski, but we're just back from our first summer break there, and it was brilliant. Hard to believe, but the sheer size and beauty of the valley in the summer is even greater than when its snow covered. Summers in Nendaz seem to be a well kept secret, it felt like a giant, empty playground for us to play in! We got up before dawn to watch the sunrise from the top of Mont Fort (it came up with an orange sky over the Matterhorn whilst behind us, the moon set in a lilac sky behind Mont Blanc!) followed by a Swiss breakfast to beat all breakfasts. The mountain walking was breathtakingly beautiful, staggering views of the valley, sunshine, gentle breeze and wild flowers in abundance. We hired mountain bikes from the local ski hire shop; excellent fun, and as with the ski-ing in Nendaz, as easy or demanding as you want it to be. Also to be recommended are the thermal spas down in Saillon on the valley floor near Sion, and if you have the time, some wine tasting. We'll be back to Chalet Le Joyeaux for summers and winters to come; it’s a really welcoming chalet, beautifully decorated and very well equipped, situated in a lovely small town in the mountains, with great things to do year round.

We are a British family based in Switzerland with a passion for the mountains and skiing. Ros grew up in Switzerland and has been skiing in the Four Vallees ski region since she was a small child. Our son, Jake, is now following in his mother's footsteps or ski tracks and like us is developing an early passion for the mountains.
In our humble opinion, having skied in many, many domains across Europe and America, the 4 Vallees offers the best skiing we have found! And new for 2016/17 a CHF 1.5m investment in eco-friendly snow cannons means snow cover is guaranteed on some of the lower, south-facing slopes meaning that the link to Verbier is assured!

The view is out of this world! Perched atop a steep hill, we have an uninterrupted view across the Rhone valley to the Alps across the way, with a view stretching over 100kms from the Grand Muveran, les Diablerets and its glacier, all the way to the Bletschorn. Even cloudy days bring their magic, with clouds shifting like veils, revealing and concealing the landscape. At nighttime the lights of the villages and Sion (capital city of the Valais canton) twinkle in the valley below with the galaxies and constellations in the skies above. Look carefully and you may see shooting stars!

Chalet Le Joyau is really our second home. As such we have furnished and styled it for ourselves. Hopefully you will find that it is stylish and comfortable rather than being a bland and characterless rental property.

We let the chalet out at reasonable rates so that we can share it with other, like-minded, people who we hope will love it as much as we do. We always love to hear your stories and feedback, and - even better - photos of you and your family and friends enjoying the beautiful region.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The chalet is centrally located, easily accessible both on foot and by car and is within a c.10 mins walk from the main ski lift.

We have a large ski and boot room and we also provide a washing machine and tumble dryer for our guests' use.

And have we mentioned the view?? Not just from the balcony but from every window.
