It is centered around the church of the former Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Its official borders are the River Seine to the north, rue des Saints-Pères to the west, rue de Seine and rue Mazarine to the east, and rue du Four to the south. Residents of the quarter are known as Germanopratins.
