wonderful experience

Our family of seven stayed at this beautiful home at the end of July for a week. Everything was exactly as described. Wonderful scenery, gorgeous house and the owners were lovely to deal with. A truly relaxing vacation with all the amenities one could imagine. Would recommend this home to anyone looking for a great home rental experience. Thank you John and Laurie for making our summer vacation a memorable one!

BEAUTIFUL HOUSE

John & his family were incredibly attentive to the house. They made our stay so incredibly easy and wonderful. We used this house for an executive team of people and it definitely lived up to every bit of expectation we had. There is plenty of room in this house for more people and really a great gathering area. I've never had such amazing home owners who made sure we were taken care of. They even left us a list of places to eat and activities to do. I would absolutely stay here again and plan on it next year. This is a wonderful place for anyone looking for a relaxing space and a very well managed property.

Everything and more

From the owners to the place we couldn't have been more happy with the whole experience. We had a crew of guys from 30 to 55. the house was laid out perfect. There was a place and something for everybody. the dining room was perfect for poker while some guys played pool, ping pong and darts and the rest sat at the fire pit. Most of the crew played golf the next day. A few of us had no desire to leave. I hope to go back with my family.

Amazing Property!

This property is absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for a weekend get away! We had a group of 14 women - everyone had space to sleep and it never felt overcrowded. We specifically enjoyed the massive deck on the front of the house. There is also a nice flat grass area below the deck and driveway where we did a private yoga session - very serene! Additionally, the house was stocked with everything that we needed. The location is nice - close to Blu Mountain and some wineries. John and Laurie were truly wonderful to work with. They touched base beforehand to check if our group had any questions and were available when I gave them a call. They had a lot of recommendations for the area, clear directions, and were very easy to work with. I would highly recommend this property! We are hoping to head back this winter and do some skiing - this will be our first inquiry for lodging!

60th Birthday Party

We celebrated my 60th birthday party with our children and grandchildren who range in age from 8 yrs. to 10 mos. We had plenty of room with no one getting underfoot. The two sinks in the kitchen certainly helped clean up tiime! The kitchen is so well stocked, you don't have to bring anything. . Bedrooms are more than spacious and provide a good size for a family, and beds were quite comfortable. I would suggest "white noise" for the bedrooms as sound travels in a wooden structure. The men had a good time keeping the furnace going...I was surprised it kept such a large home warm! We never ran out of hot water despite many showers. The water quality was quite good. Had a great time playing frisbee, bocce ball, and soccer on the front lawn, as the weather was beautiful. Also enjoyed fires in the fire pit outside at night. Inside we played ping pong, pool, and wii. What FUN! Would recommend to any large group, had the best birthday of my life with the most precious people on the planet to share it with! Thanks Laurie and John

Amazing Home

This place housed me and a few close friends for a reunion weekend, and it was everything I could have wanted out of a weekend stay. Frequently a VRBO space is photographed in a way to make it seem bigger than it actually is, but that wasn't the case with this place. It is incredibly spacious, every room bigger than you thought it was going to be. The yard is beautiful; we were able to play some frisbee. It also comfortably slept all of our 9 occupants, with multiple beds still available. I would highly recommend anybody to rent this property. Just don't get scared by the bear silhouettes.

Wonderful weekend

The weekend we spent in Kunkletown could not have been better! The house and location were out of this world. The house was spacious, clean and beautiful. Being able to wake up in the morning and drink some coffee on the deck, looking out at the mountains, it was beyond amazing! I can not wait to stay at this house again!!

Very nice vacation house

While searching for a vacation house for the long weekend, all properties seem to increase their rent drastically. And then I found John’s house, still offer the regular rate. What a lovely surprise. John has been very responsive and helpful before and after the arrival. I would highly recommend this property for your getaway.

Great home for a relaxing weekend

John was a great host and the house was perfect. We were looking for a relaxing weekend and that's exactyly what we got. The views are amazing (morning coffee on the patio/deck was a great way to start the day). John was in contact throughout if we needed anything and walked us through (over phone) the house to make sure we knew where everything was. Yes, there are cameras but they are easy to find and unplug. House was in great shape and had everything we could've wanted. Just wish it was a bit warmer at night so we could've enjoyed the deck and large fire pit some more. If you are interested in this place, please do not hesitate. Also, make sure to talk to John for some recommendations. For the few times we weren't on the property, we followed some of his suggestions and they turned out great. Thanks again, John!

Incredible mountain house

I went up here for a guys weekend - the house and land are incredible! I'm not sure the pictures do it justice - everyone was just talking about the next time we would be able to rent this house. Overall a great experience with both the house and the owners, would recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

Great Log Cabin

This is a really great place to stay, everything from the fully stocked kitchen to the game room was perfect. Fresh mountain air and comfortable sleeping arrangements, huge comfy couch with an apple TV and a deep sound system, wrap around deck. All around just great. The owners were super friendly and accommodating as well. I recommend this place without any reservation.

Beautiful home, beautiful scenery, super comfortable, highly recommended

I booked this property for a men's weekend of golf and white water rafting. The house and views were so much better than I expected. There was plenty of parking and lots of privacy. The house was large, very comfortably furnished, and the beds were amazing. We golfed at Split Rock, which was a 10 minute drive from the house. John, the owner, was super attentive and available. He answered all of my questions and gave me great recommendations for the area. I would definitely rent this property again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a spacious and private get away.

Stunning Home and Location

We rented for a family vacation/long weekend. There were a total of 10 of us; plenty of bedroom space and everyone had plenty of room. This would also be perfect for a romantic getaway. Visited wineries, Knoebels Amusement Park did horseback riding, and just unplugged for a few days. Honestly this has been the best house rental we have been involved with. The owner communicated on a regular basis with us and always responded when there was a question or concern. A pleasure to do business with.

Renters beware!

While we found this home to have gorgeous views and in a beautiful serene area, we were deeply disappointed and dismayed by our rental experience and the lack of disclosure by the owners. Renters beware! First, we were mystified why other reviewers described this rental as "well-stocked" since we were stunned to receive emails from the owners shortly before our stay describing all kinds of things that we had to bring for ourselves and were not included in the rental, such as all trash bags, toilet paper, hand and bath towels, ice (even though an icemaker was listed in the ad) and firewood (the owner described use of two fire pits). In addition, it was not disclosed that you need to clean everything before you leave including removing all sheets and all trash and carry it down a long driveway before you leave. YOU are the cleaning service and the owners insist that you call them before you leave the house to review their checklist of things to clean! The ad makes no mention of these things and the owner only told us about all this after our payments were made. If we were told of this before renting, these are non-issues. Secondly, the house is not a 4 bedroom house, as the ad says. It is a 3 bedroom, with extra beds in two different oversized walk-in closets, which get VERY hot at night. There are also some beds next to the hot water heater in the basement. Our group had planned on 4 private bedrooms and that was not to be. Perhaps most concerning (and creepy!) was the lack of disclosure of 4 security cameras that were recording us inside and outside the house before we realized they were on! We immediately contacted the owner when we realized they were on and called back a second time to insist he tell us where they ALL were and how to disable them. Outrageous that we were not told about this. We paid a LOT for this rental and were deeply disappointed. Beware.

Great home in a beautiful location!

The home & views were better than the pictures. My group of 12 slept very comfortably. The kitchen is large enough to easly cook for and clean up after an army. Friendly and helpful homeowners. I recommend to those reading!

Dream house, perfect stay!

i arrived around noon on friday, in hopes that the house would be exactly what the pictures shown. I was throwing a "man" weekend for my cousins 25th birthday, so I had a lot of high hopes. When approaching the house and hitting the crest of the hill to see this house appear was absolutley breathtaking. Pictures do not do justice to what this house really is. You honestly have to see it to believe it. I ran through the house like a little kid in a candy store claiming the master bedroom! The views are A+++, the rooms are clean and each room had its own unique charm. The kitchen was the most perfect dream kitchen you can imagine. Two firepits, basketball court, big screen tv with a great sound system, pool table, darts, ping pong table, Free WiFi! The owners were very down to earth and humble, made the rental process stress-free.. They made themselves readily available to any question or concern. Needless to say, We had the best weekends of our life up at the cabin.. Down the street about 10 mimutes is a town called Palmerton, you can find everything you need in the town, and a special charm to the town itself. If you dont stay here, you are making a grave mistake, and if you do stay, in the back of the house, hike up the mountain, and you can enjoy the views from a different perspective.. Absolutley breathtaking! Thank you again the owners!

Breath Taking Views

This home is beyond beautiful. The views are stunning even breath taking. The pictures do not do this home justice. The longer your there the more you fall in love with it. The owners are so friendly and warm. They go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need for your stay. You really have everything you need and more. The double sinks and large eating area make it a perfect family vacation home. We had 6 adults and three children and never felt crowded. With the home being so big and on 16 acres you literally can disconnect from the outside world and truly relax. My family got to spend some good quality time together. There was plenty of room for all of us to watch movies after dinner, play cards, star gaze, catch fire flies, hike and explore, the list goes on. I could not say enough wonderful things about this home or the home owners. This home is a must see to truly appreciate.

Great experience!

We went up for a girl's weekend and although the weather did not hold out, we had a great time! We found the property clean, extremely well taken care of and well stocked with pots, pans and anything one would ever need! I would highly recommend this property!

Amazing Home

I stayed here with 13 college friends and some children ranging from 9 mo - 5yrs old. There are little words that can describe this beautiful and truly massive home. Pictures do it no justice because its construction is truly remarkable. The home is so large that you never feel overcrowded. The kitchen and eating area are comparable in size to some restaurants in my area. The living room has plenty of comfy seating and a full entertainment system complete with 70" flat screen, surround sound and cable. The deck is not only long but also very wide. so wide that we actually played corn hole toss on it. The property also has enough of a level field for playing sports or setting up a kiddie pool like we did. The bedrooms are HUGE. 2 of the 3 have sleeper sofas as well as king size beds. To give you an idea in 1 room we had 2 people sleep on the bed, had 2 queen size air mattresses on the floor AND a pack n' play. There was also room for more in the single bed they have in the room's large walk-in closet. The loft upstairs could easily sleep another 10 people but there are plenty of areas thruout where that probably wouldn't be necessary. There was so much house we never made it to the basement to enjoy the 2nd seating area with a TV, pool table and a table perfect for a game of cards or dominoes. I know this house is close to a hiking and tubing and other outdoor activities but I didn't want to leave the house so I can't tell you exact. Lastly the 2 best things about this place is 1. that it is fully stocked. towels, sheets, pillows, pots, pans, baking sheets, bowls.... the list goes on and on. 2. Laurie and John were great to deal with. They answered all of my questions (and there were a lot of them) and made me feel at home in their beautiful home. I will most def. be returning soon.

AMAZING GIRLS WEEKEND

My girlfriends and I stayed at your place for a long weekend and LOVED it. There was a total of 9 of us and there was more than enough room for us to all hang out together on the porch or in the house. The privacy of the 16 acres allowed us to enjoy and block out the rest of the world. The porch was awesome, you could sit in the sun or go under either side of the deck for shade. Evenings were especially great as the view of Blue Mountain is spectacular and the abundance of stars. We went to Beltzvile Lake and Jim Thorpe....lots to do here...the owners have a file filled with things to do in the area. My girlfriends and I plan on making this an annual event...between catching up, laughing , eating and drinking the accommodations were supurb. Thanks again to John and Laurie
