A great family getaway

We had a wonderful stay at wandering dunes. The house is beautiful and provides spacious common areas as well as excellent bedrooms. There are great views from the house and the board walk provides direct access to the beach. Overall a great place for a beach getaway and very helpful hosts!

Beautiful house and a great location.

This is a great house with a fantastic location, very easy access to the beach, well equipped with everything you need. The host Lauren is very quick to respond if you were to need something. We had a great time staying here, I give it 5 stars.

Great time at Wandering Dunes

We stayed at Wandering Dunes while tuna fishing. The accommodations were excellent and fit our five-person group perfect. Working with Lauren through the process was easy and all of our questions were answered quickly. We'll definitely be back!!

Beautiful space with thoughtful, fun touches

The house was beautiful -- just as the pictures show. The coffee set up options were exceptional. The treasure hunt for the 10 octopuses was a fun surprise as well. The kids had a blast in the bunk room -- cool space! And we loved the games and sand toys and being just steps from the beach. Overall, wonderful stay.

This is a wonderful home for a family vacation. The house is very well appointed-Lauren thought of everything—toys for the kids, the bunk room, the play room, the garage-all give the children lots to do even when the weather isn’t stellar. The home is clean, and roomy, with a lovely set up. We highly recommend!

Above and beyond

The house is incredible and only steps from the beach. The hosts are so thoughtful and always available if needed. The game room and themed kids bedroom were a huge hit! We will definitely be back soon!

Stunning view of the ocean sunsets. Well-appointed hi-tech property. TVs galore, excellent Wi-Fi service. Kitchen has pretty much everything you might need. Plenty of bedrooms; very comfortable beds.Very accommodating and gracious hosts. Communication with them was excellent, immediate via texts or phone calls. Many thanks.For EV owners: property has an EV charger (7 kW). No problem fully charging your EV overnight. This was a pleasant surprise and most welcomed amenity, a big deal; it saved us a lot of time and effort considering that the nearest fast charger is 88 miles round trip!There was a couple of hiccups checking in; no fault of the hosts, that were addressed right away. Pet fee was significantly higher than other places, but overall cost seemed in line with similar properties.We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. This property is now one of our preferred rental choices.Perhaps worth mentioning: the small town of Westport 3 miles away shuts down at 6 PM.

Annual July trip to Wandering Dunes

My family and I look forward to our trip to this house, “wandering dunes” in Westport more than anything all year! This was our 4th consecutive year staying here and we are planning next years trip now! The house is beautiful/ immaculate and extremely comfortable for my friends and family that join us. Cohasset beach is so beautiful and peaceful that we consider getting our own place there. The ocean is directly in front of the house with a convenient boardwalk to the beach. We spend the days fishing on the ocean playing on the beach and touring around town. Our favorite establishments are black beards brewery, Bennetts fish shack, and surfer girl for ice cream. We are invested in the hospitality business and can honestly say the professionalism and responsiveness of the host is second to none. They have gone out of their way and above and beyond to accommodate my family in several different ways which is greatly appreciated. Thank you for providing the best week of summer for my family And closest friends.

Tranquility and Fun

Prior to arrival, we had traveled, stayed in a hotel two nights with a hard mattress & awful pillows. My body has a few issues & I was I feeling it. Had gotten very little sleep, which added substantially to my discomfort. Coming to this home was such a relief! The mattress, bedding and pillows were so comfy. Add all the amenities this home offers, lovely seaside decor, and being at the ocean itself. Awwww. Mind, body and soul restored. Ocean views, direct access to an uncrowded beach with talcum powder sand. Rest. Relax. Rewind and Refresh. We were a family of 9 and cook from scratch. The cupboards were well stocked with any cooking pot, pan or device needed, as well as a huge variety of serving plates, bowls and glasses. Many spices too. We didn’t lack a thing. The grandkids LOVED their room and the scavenger hunt. The provided kites & sand toys helped make their first stay at the ocean memorable. Jacuzzi and their own giant sand area to play right nearby was wonderful too. “Grammy, next time if we come we should stay a whole week.” I think that’s a good plan.

Excellent! Thoughtful. Clean. Responsive.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our trip and found everything we needed. We enjoyed the local grub but also cooked at the house. The kitchen was thoughtfully loaded with everything we needed - all the way down to big stock pots, crab claw crackers and picks that let us enjoy some fresh dungeness crabs while watching the sunset. The owner was responsive and ensured we had everything we needed. The neighborhood is new and can't beat the beach access right out the back door. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Shoreside Sanctuaries was born from our personal need to find a space where we could escape & truly unwind. As two young professionals navigating the challenges of economic downturn, we found ourselves completely burnt out. Life became a juggling act—balancing work, family, friends, and the little time we had for each other & ourselves was impossible. We were exhausted, unhealthy, and disconnected from the things that matter most. So—we made the decision to leave the chaos behind. We committed to saving, quit our jobs, and spent time with family while figuring out a better way forward. After a year of hard work and a lot of dreaming, we were finally able to buy a home in beautiful Washington State. My husband, found a fantastic work opportunity that offered more independence & flexibility—just what we needed to create a life with balance. We had a clear vision: we wanted to find a place of peace, somewhere that felt like a sanctuary from life’s stresses. After months of searching, we began to lose hope—but on the last day of our trip, we found our unicorn! A home overlooking the stunning Puget Sound, with Mt. Rainier watching over us in the distance. Every day, I woke up feeling grateful and in awe of this place we now call home. That’s when the idea to share this experience took root. We wanted everyone to find the same peace we found here, with the soothing sounds of water and the beauty of nature all around. We started by renting out our home when we traveled, then expanded with Wandering Dunes. Wandering Dunes has a charm all its own, with magical murals and a bunk room straight out of Peter Pan, everyday is an adventure, rain or shine. For us, it's all about creating spaces where families can make lasting memories and find true relaxation. We’re passionate about these sanctuaries.
