Discover the beauty of Notre Dame from this 7-bedroom house. Located just across the street from Campus and the Burke golf course. This house has 4 bedrooms in the main house plus a large bunk room on the 3rd floor and bonus room The bunk room sleeps 7 in beds. There is also an attached apartment with an additional 2 bedrooms, a living area with pull out couch and kitchenette.
The whole house sleeping arrangements: 4 queen beds, 2 king beds, 3 individual twin beds, and 1 bunk bed with twin over double. Plus 2 futons and a pull out couch. This lovely property offers plenty of space for guests to relax. Enjoy the convenience of amenities like a washing machine, hair dryers, AC, and heating. The 3 bathrooms come equipped with soaps, shampoo, face wash, lotion and bathtubs in the 2 full baths. A large living room in the main house has sectional couch and leather club chairs. The separate apartment has a second living room with a sofa bed provides additional space for lounging.
Rockne's Retreat is a great place to entertain and to call home base while you're away. Located on Angela Blvd, just a 1/4 mile to the entrance of Notre Dame and only 1/2 mile to Notre Dame Stadium. Perfect tailgate house for game day. Perfect house for wedding parties or other family/friend gatherings. We hope you enjoy your stay.

Stayed at Christine's house for the ND-NC State football game weekend and had a great time. This is perfectly located, right on Angela, about a six minute walk from the University entrance and Eddy St Commons. The layout is basically a downstairs living room, dining room, kitchen, half bath and bright little solarium. Upstairs in the main section are four bedrooms and a full bath. And on the third floor is another queen bedroom plus bunkroom. Above the garage is a two bedroom, full bath apartment with kitchenette apartment, which is easily accesible from the main hosue second floor. The basement has a laundry room and game room. There's really a lot of house here. We particularly enjoyed the fire-pit in the front yard, which was amply supplied with firewood. The back deck has a gas grill which worked great. Christine was fabulous host - we had one minor issue with one of the bathrooms, and it was fixed within a couple of hours of letting her know. One of our best house rental experiences in South Bend!

This was a wonderful, clean place to stay for our son’s wedding! You couldn’t ask for a better property to be close to campus and enjoy with friends and family.

This was the perfect home for our family over a game weekend. We enjoyed the fire pit, large yard, and amazing location just a few blocks from campus. The driveway was plenty large enough to fit 4 cars and the bedrooms were large and comfortable. Host was very communicative and easy to connect with. Kitchen and bathrooms were also well stocked. Be aware the 2.5 bathrooms are not en suite so do have to take turns with a large group, but we didn’t mind this at all!

Great weekend. Great House

We were a group of 16 coming to South Bend for a football weekend. We could not have asked for a better house. It is a beautiful home; the house is set up for large groups with different types of bed sizes and room configurations. The house has everything you need. It is a 10-minute walk to the stadium lot and even closer to Eddy Street. Great fire pit, multiple tables for meal seating, fully supplied kitchen and grill. The owner responded quickly to texts, and check-in was easy. I highly recommend this rental.

This location is unbeatable for all things Notre Dame. You are right next to campus and ready for game day. Also great location for golfers as the course is across the street and many others locally. Also a perfect location for wedding parties. Eddy Street is 1/2 mile as is Notre Dame Stadium. Perfect location for your friends and family to gather.

Welcome to Rockne’s Retreat
Notre Dame Stadium, famously known as “The House that Rockne Built,” owes much of its legacy to Knute Rockne, one of college football’s greatest coaches, who was instrumental in its creation in 1930. Rockne’s Retreat, however, is “The House that Knute Rockne’s Secretary Built”—quite literally! Built in 1929 by Herbert E. Jones, Knute Rockne’s trusted secretary, this historic home carries a deep connection to Notre Dame and Irish football.
Over the years, Rockne’s Retreat has hosted many notable guests. According to legend, the entire 1943 National Championship football team and coaching staff gathered here to celebrate their victory, joined by Coach Frank Leahy. The house has also welcomed luminaries like Billy Martin of the New York Yankees, Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, and even Father Hesburgh, each of whom is said to have enjoyed time in this very living room.
Rockne’s Retreat is truly one-of-a-kind, offering not only rich history but an unbeatable location for all Notre Dame fans and history buffs alike.
