Consider this cabin on 65 acres your home away from home while you visit The Shawnee National Forest. This marvelous property boasts 3 cozy bedrooms areas, including a pillow top queen bed, very comfortable (new age) sofa bed, and a pillow top twin bed. All beds are made with bamboo sheets and soft plush blankets. With amenities like AC, heating, and a hair dryer, guests will feel right at home. The bathroom features a refreshing shower, large plush bath sheets, and a hair dryer for convenience. Relax in this lovely cabin and enjoy the charming surroundings. 3 waterfalls, 5 ponds, cliffs bluffs on site, with trails to The National Shawnee Forrest in all directions. Feel free to reach out to us during your stay - we're happy to suggest local spots to check out.

Loved the location and the cleanliness along with the owners hospitality to make sure of our comfort and if we needed anything at any time. My dog loved it and was very relaxed being away from home. We highly recommend!

Wonderful cabin on a beautiful property. Abundant wildlife quiet and peaceful. Close to many trailheads in the Shawnee National Forest. Cabin is very clean and well maintained.

The cabin is located on beautiful acreage with lovely views. The hosts came over on their UTV to see if we needed anything and are very friendly - going above and beyond to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. The pillows and blankets were the most comfy I've ever used! Wish we could have stayed longer.

Beautiful Stay in Shawnee Forest

My wife and I stayed a night here and it was wonderful. The property is beautiful and a short drive away from many great attractions. The hosts are very accommodating and communicative. The cabin was perfect for my wife and me, it was clean and had every accomodation we needed.

We had a beautiful stay at the charming Hunting Cabin. The cabin was exceptionally clean with refreshing views out the windows. The land brought much needed comforting peace with the morning sunrise and evening sunset right before our eyes... the stars and the moon, too. Charmingly sweet, clean, refreshing and beautiful land.

Our cabin was very cozy and felt like home. It was nicely decorated! The property was extremely peaceful and beautiful. Our bed was comfortable and the shower was hot with great water pressure. Everything was clean! Our hosts were quite responsive and hospitable and even brought us some coffee for the Keurig. They also suggested a nearby restaurant and a short drive to Burden Falls which we enjoyed. We would definitely stay here again!

Just what we needed!

This property was perfect for what we was looking for on our short trip to southern Illinois. Was extremely clean almost like we were the first guests to stay here. Communication with the owner was great and couldn’t be happier.

Our host was very helpful and kind. We were shown the location of the waterfalls, unfortunately due to weather they were dry. We enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the deer in the evening field.

This place was amazing!!

We loved our time here, it was so peaceful! The view was amazing. We watched a coyote running through the field one morning!! Lots of birds and we were greeting by Yellowstone. It was dark for perfect sky viewing and storm watching. Unfortunately we didn’t do any exploring on the property but it’s a great reason to come back!

For many years while living in Northern Illinois we would visit this area on a regular basis. For camping and horseback riding there is no better place to be. The trails in this area are absolutely amazing.

We chose this area for the best trails and views. Shotgun Eddy’s is a short drive away with live music, outdoor seating, and great food.
