Our rustic, renovated barn & loft is a unique, funky artist retreat & small event/family space on a shade-dappled, 3 acre charming hill country property.
It's a cozy & peaceful property just outside of town giving you a secluded & private experience but close enough to town to enjoy all the fun activities San Marcos has to offer. There is a fantastic disc golf course at the end of the road, a shooting range, art center, the San Marcos river for a day on the water & Yoga/Healing Center nearby!
Come disconnect on our unique renovated barn home on 3 quiet acres. Yes, it was once a real barn! The living room with TV and pool table will keep you entertained. There is a full kitchen with stove, fridge, dishwasher and utensils for cooking and a drip coffee maker for your coffee.
Water is from a rain catchment tank and natural-fed well from an aquifer. Our water is sanitized and filtered and we also provide plenty of drinking water from a water delivery service.
The dining area will hold large groups and the two cozy bedrooms and one large loft with three beds will sleep 10 easily. A queen sized tall inflatable mattress is available as well to use.
The front yard of this property will probably be used as much as the inside! Enjoy the fire pit and hang out spots. There is a small stage for artists and there are 4 large picnic tables to use and plenty of space to run around!
Guests have access to half the property and all amenities listed.
There are three full time, quiet, very wonderful and respectful tenants that live in the houses set back a ways on the other side of the driveway but you should feel pretty privately set away from them. They do use the outhouse bathrooms between the barn and their homes for their restroom, showers and to wash clothes. Please respect these places. If you decide to use the outhouses because you have a bathroom emergency, we do not guarantee how clean or "picked up" they will be since the tenants are responsible for their cleanliness.
The tenants also have 2 sweet dogs, Honey and Sunna. You may occasionally get greeted by them if they wander over.
If you need anything, please reach out through the system.
If it's an emergency you will be given my number after booking to text or call me directly.
Checking in is a breeze and there is no need for us to be there unless you want us to be there to greet you. I would just need at least 3 days advance notice to do so.
We respect your privacy and will be on the property only for emergency repairs and with notice or unless you need something from us.
The Barn is only 15 minutes max from downtown San Marcos with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops. Multiple river parks and river float rentals are in and around San Marcos. You will be 20 minutes from the Outlet Mall, 30 minutes from Austin and 45 minutes from San Antonio. There is plenty of parking on site for 10-12 vehicles. Please message for larger parties or small weddings.
Music is allowed but quiet time is 10pm. Music can still be played out loud until midnight but must be under 80 decibels. Please be respectful of the neighbors! Even if you cannot see them, they can hear you.
This is a non-smoking property. If we find cigarette butts or smell smoke, there is a $100 charge. Please smoke in your car.
If you have brought a pet and haven't told me, please do. We are pet friendly, but have a different set of rules to send you.
Please no confetti or glitter of any size on the property at any time. You will get charged an extra cleaning fee if we have to clean it up.
Leave ALL indoor furniture indoors at all times.
You may take your trash out to the large trash dumpster that is near the road outside of the entrance gate.
Guests are asked to load dishes into the dishwasher and start a cycle, empty fridge and take all trash to the dumpster outside the property near the road. The housekeeper will put dishes away for you. Please leave sink or hallway light on as well as the front porch security light before leaving. Make sure both the back and front door are locked.
