Country farmhouse with large organic swimming-pool and garden

Fattoria San Paolo is a Farm House among the hills of Central Tuscany. Since we saw it for the first time we imagined a new future for this old and beautiful (but completely ruined!) place and we started renovating it. It took about 3 years of work, but now it is as beautiful as it was. In the farm we produce organic extravirgin olive oil. Since 2009 the farmhouse is open for guests (with 3 apartments and 4 lofts). Our swimming-pool is an organic one (no chemicals in water) and looks like a natural pond. Our guests are welcome to swim together with frogs!


Why should you choose Fattoria San Paolo? One thing is our focus on low environmental impact.
Our most important hallmark is our organic swimming-pool. It is a big pond-featured setting, with really low environmental impact. This works with phitodepuration, no chemicals. We produce electricity for the circulation pumps with sun panels and we use water from a natural spring (located in the property) to refill the pool.
Another reason to stay at Fattoria San Paolo is that it is in central position for Tuscany exploration. You can choose several nice day- adventures, both discovering small villages or visiting the most famous art cities. A day-trip to the beaches is also easily possibile.

Beautiful, quiet, relaxing place to stay

We loved our stay here! The property is so beautiful and the pool was wonderful. Our rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. It was incredibly quiet, and was a great break from our stay in Italian cities. You must have a car here as nothing is close. Chiara was a gracious host.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful spot

An idyllic, peaceful location and very friendly hosts. Our three children spent hours swimming and wildlife spotting in the natural pool.The accommodation is spacious and clean. There are plenty of beautiful spots to sit and relax outside, listening to the frogs singing! The surrounding area is very pretty with plenty of hillside villages to explore. It's a bit of a drive to the Tuscan cities such as Florence and Sienna but it was worth it for the peace and quiet.

an amazingly beautiful and peaceful place! The natural pool is idyllic and full of life!

We a family of four (Mom, Dad, six year old, and Grandma) stayed 2 nights here and loved it! Our son was totally fascinated by the natural pool and would spend hours swimming and exploring in and around it. At night we also enjoyed looking for frogs and nocturnal animals to observe. The huge moon and starry skies were fascinating. Our son became very good friends with the family dog, Otto ;-). The owner, Kiara, was a pleasure to meet and Jacqueline made us feel very welcome. We were sad to leave but will return for a longer stay!

Appartement très spacieux pour 2 adultes et deux enfants, bel espace à vivre. Une vue splendide sur 3 côtés. La piscine naturelle est un vrai bonheur, nager avec les libellules, près de grenouilles, des nénuphars...Le restaurant de pizzas (pauvre en gluten) et autres mets était délicieux (les enfants ont découvert sur le tiramisu). Accueil souriant et disponible.

A real paradise!

We just returned from a 10-day stay at Fattoria San Paulo and enjoyed it immensely. Our apt. (Ginepro) was very large and comfortable for the 4 of us and we felt really at home in an authentic Tuscan setting. The hostess, Chiara, is extremely charming and helpful - she also runs a great little pizzeria right across from the main house, which is open 3 nights a week: for those who love healthy (but good!) food, her pizzas are the crispiest (she explained that she uses a special low gluten flour) and most delicious in the the region! The house is set in an olive orchard (they also sell their bio unfiltered olive oil) in the Tuscan hills and there is a big nature pond next to the house for a refreshing swim. We recommend the Fattoria San Paulo most highly.

Classic traditional and airy fattoria

What a fantastic property, Chiara and her husband have renovated the farmhouse in a traditional style with all the modern necessities, the appartment was large clean and airy. The setting is lovely with views across the fields, the natural pool is very large and surrounded by Waterlilles and frogs and aquatic life, the water is clear and filtered, and there are boardwalks to jump in from or simply lounge on. Their own pizzeria is open at the weekends where some of the best pizza we had can be enjoyed in the restaurant with their own olive oil, the prices are very good and the hospitality very friendly. If you are looking for a holiday in natural surroundings, great facilities in a lovely location for exploring Tuscany this is it.

It was with a heavy heart that my friend and I had to depart our holiday flat at the end of June this year. I won't list all the delightful aspects which awaited us at Frattoria San Paolo: All these things have already been said by previous visitors and they are absolutey accurate. San Paolo is a wonderful place if you are looking for peace and quiet; ecology and environment are at the top of the list. The pond is really much larger than shown on the photos.. This was my first visit to Tuscany but I'm sure that I'll return and my first choice for a Holiday domicile will be Chiara's place. Thank you also for all your kindness and help.

Great family farmhouse in the heart of Tuscany

Great family-sized farmhouse in the heart of Tuscany. Plenty of room for my family of 5. We used it as a base camp for daily touring of sites around Tuscany such as Lucca, Pisa, San G. We loved the natural pool and found it a great place to cool off and relax after a long hot day of driving and sightseeing. Unfortunately the restaurant on site was closed while we were there but we found a great restaurant about 5 minutes away. We would also go the local supermarket to get food and groceries for times when we didn't feel like going out to eat. Owner was very friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. Would highly recommend.

cosy and "home-like" property, friendly hosts

Together with my fiancee, we spent one week in Tuscany and we were accommodated in Fattoria San Paolo, Quercia apartment. As soon as we arrived there we realized that it was the best choice we could make for this part of our vacation. Location details: - a car is recommended for the following because the nearest shops, supermarkets are a few km away; rented bikes could be a good option too for the aficionados - beautiful scenery, low traffic even in august. - the property is located in the middle of Tuscany with easy access to tourist hot spots and (almost one hour drive to San Gimignano, Voltera, Siena, Monteriggioni, etc...) - also about 1h and 30min drive to Pisa and Florence - around the property there is a bunch of small, medieval villages that also deserve attention. I recommend a walking tour through all villages here. You will find almost empty streets during midday, charming Italian locals and small "osterias" where you can enjoy a great local meal or a delicious cappuccino. About the property: - the apartments are in a charming Italian, old style, building. Next to the main building there is another small building used as small family restaurant for dinner on Thursdays to Saturdays. - the advertisement is 100% accurate - spacious and cosy apartment; we felt like home - wireless internet access available - parking available - the apartment has everything that it needs to make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you feel that you miss something just ask Chiara and she will help you. We asked her one day to about a washing machine and she said: "don't worry. just had me the clothes and I'll take care of them". Next day we found the clothes neatly folded waiting in a bag in front of your apartment. - the property is environment friendly - they use solar panels for electricity About the small restaurant: - open on evenings Thursday to Saturday - they cook local dishes, and they are delicious - the best pizza I ever tasted. Absolutely delicious - very good local wine - the prices were more than affordable - and the best proof that this is a good restaurant is that I saw plenty of local people coming here for dinner. - PS: try the 4fromaggi and the deserts As a conclusion: Chiara and her husband are really friendly people. I hope we can make time every year to visit them, at least for a few days. This place really "charges your batteries". I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and to everybody that is intere

Fattorio San Paulo

The listing description and the photos cannot do justice to the Fattorio San Paulo. The setting is breathtaking, the apartment and the farmhouse beautifully furnished and the pool a delight. Our family had the most wonderful holiday - none of us wanted to leave! The pool is very large and my children were in all day, swimming and taking photos of frogs and newts. Chiara was the perfect host - so friendly and charming, any request wasn't too much bother. The pizzas in the restaurant were superb - wonderful to have a few steps away from the apartment. The holiday was spent either at the pool or exploring the medieval villages or further afield to Sienna and Florence. We can't recommend this property enough -thank you Chiara and family for a simply perfect holiday!

Wonderful welcome in a gorgeous place

My family and I cannot praise Chiara and her family enough for their wonderful welcome to Fattoria San Paolo. They were so kind and friendly! The apartment was delightful, clean and well appointed: the photos do not do it, nor the pool, justice. The pool was delightful - and huge. The views are spectacular and atmosphere relaxing. The location is a little removed from the main tourist centres of Tuscany - which we liked because it meant it was very quiet! - but places such as Siena, Volterra and Massa Maritima are within easy reach, as well as numerous medieval hilltop villages. Since the shops are a short drive away Chiara arranged for bread to be delivered every morning, and on Thurs, Fri and Sat nights offers traditional Tuscan pizzas on site - which were the most delicious we have ever tasted! We would not hesitate to recommend Fattoria San Paolo for a holiday combining relaxation and cultural visits.

We loved our stay at Fattorio San Paulo. Our hosts were lovely and very accommodating and the accommodation itself was superb - very comfortable and spacious for our family of four. We especially enjoyed the natural pool, great to swim in and no chemicals! There are lots of interesting sites and activities for day trips within close range. I would highly recommend a stay here.

A fabulous vacation stay

We can't say enough good things about our stay at the old country farmhouse (Fattoria San Paolo). The property description was very accurate - it lived up to our expectations and more! We would recommend this property to anyone - single, couples or families! The furnishings were very comfortable, the pool was delightful and the restaurant was delicious. Their restaurant serves wood oven pizzas and you will want them many nights! Everything was well maintained and the attention to detail was wonderful! We would visit quaint neighboring villages during the day and then could not wait to get back to the property for relaxation! Chiara was extremely helpful and a very gracious and generous hostess. All of her recommendations were right on target. We would return in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a Tuscan experience -this is the place. We cannot wait to go back!!!

A beautiful place in gorgeous surroundings

The photos don't do justice to the lovely appartments created by Chiara and her family. They are beautifully decorated making a wonderful environment for a holiday. Every window has breathtaking views and inside the appartments are spacious and homely - very relaxing! The place was spotless and there were lovely touches, like towles and dishcloths and tableclths left out for each of us.Chiara and her family couldn't do enough for us and were so welcoming. They even fixed our flat tyre and changed our wheel! The swimming pool is huge and beautiful, with water lillies growing all along and frogs basking in the sun (not swimming with us tho!) Even my insect-phobic son loved the pool. If you want to get away from it all it's the perfect retreat, but we still managed to visit Pisa, Florence, Sienna (twice!) Viareggio and many of the beautiful medieval towns and villages which proliferate the area all in one week. The food in Tuscany is lovely and the countryside is truly stunning. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a real Tuscan experience - it's fantastic.
