With exacting attention to detail and an ethos for historic preservation, this home was not only renovated but curated to pamper your friends and family while visiting Durham. The Designer home offers Quartzite kitchen counters, a feature gas range, gorgeous en suites with ceramic tile baths and a bonus half bath. Completely new systems (plumbing, HVAC and electrical) bridge this wonderful historic bungalow into the 21st century. Private screened porch perfect for your morning coffee, or enjoying the evening. Private driveway and abundant on street parking. Steps from EVERYTHING Durham has to offer, and minutes to Duke West Campus and hospitals!

The entire house and yard is yours to use and explore!

The Neighborhood:
From your steps, take a 3 minute walk for bagels at Isaac's Bagels, groceries at the Durham Co-op, or coffee and brunch at Grub. Easy access to Ninth Street, Duke East and West Campuses, DPAC, Durham Bulls Stadium and downtown restaurants and bars. Upon Booking, we will share an expansive and comprehensive list of all of our Favorites!

Getting Around:
There are many bus lines that should take you very near our house; We're centrally located; by car, we're approximately 3 minutes from I-85 or NC-147, or an easy walk / Lyft / Uber ride downtown.

Other Things to Note:
We have a Smart TV with access to Netflix, your Amazon or Hulu account, and many other apps. We Cut the Cord on Cable, but offer YouTubeTV which functions similar to Cable and offers tons of Live or On Demand Options!

Interaction with Guests:
We want you to be able to settle into this home as if it was your own. We'll stay out of your way, but we're just a quick message away if you have questions about restaurants, events or the house, or if an unexpected issue arises.

We are happy to answer questions that you may have! Whether it's a hankering for a local cider, a sudden urge for a new haircut or a desperate need for a donut, we are happy to help you find the closest and best place to make that happen.

I enjoyed our stay at the Duke West Bungalow. Wonderfully comfortable. The location is strategically located near Duke campus and downtown Durham. It made getting to athletic events ( or any other campus activities) a snap. If plans include dinner in Durham downtown and Bright leaf square you have quick access. We had everything needed for a great stay except for TV and InternetIt was a let down to find no internet and no TV available. Apparently AT&T failed to fix a problem which had been noted discovered. One needs to count on such services being available when we all inevitably do work remotely.

Lovely, clean, well-appointed bungalow in a great Durham location - convenient to Duke University and downtown. The owner gave us an extensive list of restaurant, shopping and entertainment recommendations. The house was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable! Highly recommend! Will stay there again! Although the home is newly renovated, the owner’s responses, remedies, and overall safety standards were far below acceptable.Before arrival, the owner refused to store even a few bags, claiming they couldn’t ensure their safety—something any experienced host should easily accommodate. Upon arrival, the WiFi didn’t work, and the access point provided didn’t exist. Despite multiple messages, the owner only replied after repeated attempts, insisting there was an AT&T outage—something I confirmed was untrue. Nearly 24 hours later, we discovered the issue was simply incorrect WiFi credentials.The toilets were another major concern: every seat in the house was dangerously loose and remained unrepaired for over two days, only fixed the afternoon before checkout. For elderly guests, this could have been a serious hazard.Communication throughout was slow, unhelpful, and often dismissive. The promised “comprehensive local guide” never appeared, the home instructions were missing, and the kitchen was severely understocked. The broiler barely worked, the fireplace was deemed a hazard, and basic linens were insufficient for our stay.Do not expect much from this rental. The screened porch overlooks a dirt patch, the home is poorly maintained, and the owner’s responsiveness and attention to guest safety are grossly inadequate.

Clean. Beautifully designed. Spacious. I loved this place and would have liked to have stay longer! The screened in porch was also fantastic on a cool fall evening. It was super close to downtown (and to my fav sushi place - M Sushi!) and the communication with Dylan was excellent. Highly recommend.

We have stayed at a number of properties the past two weeks and this one was by far the BEST and far exceeded all expectations! The home is very clean and cozy. Everything even down to the light switches were clearly marked so we had no questions at all as to how to find anything or operate anything within the home. The decor was beautiful and felt very cozy. The location was excellent. If I could give this 10 stars I would. Would love to stay here again and my two teenagers agree!

The bungalow was fabulous, comfortable, spacious, and completely charming. It met all our needs. It was close to the Duke campus where we were attending a conference. I would definitely book this property again.

Wonderful Stay!

We absolutely loved our stay in this Durham Bungalow. It was perfect for our group! It was close to everything and nothing was more than a 10 minute drive. The house itself was so cute and we would definitely return the next time we are in Durham!

Loved our stay!

Our grandson was admitted to Duke and wanted us to join him for "Admit Day". We were able to walk to Duke, so the location was great. The bungalow was lovingly restored. Restaurants within walking distance.

Such a cute spot, and Dylan was very communicative. Would recommend! Walking distance to downtown if you want a leisurely stroll, otherwise 4 min drive

Durham Trip

Upon arrival you are instantly greeted by beautiful hardwood floors. The immaculate layout of this little cottage & the bright open kitchen painted in beautiful neutral tones is so inviting. Each bedroom with its own bath is decorated to perfection. The screened in back porch is a wonderful place to relax.
