Tranquil and exquisite, Stepping Stone is located in Black Mountain's charming Cheshire Village and offers 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, and ample space for fellowship and entertainment. Walk to the heart of Cheshire for lunch, take a five-minute trip to beautiful Black Mountain for superb food and shopping, or visit Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Biltmore Estate, which are less than 30 minutes away.

About the Home
• The kitchen boasts top-of-the-line Viking appliances with a gas range, dishwasher, drip-style coffee maker, and Keurig coffee maker.
• Open-concept dining area with seating for 8 overlooking the living room with a wood-burning fireplace.
• Covered porch with a wood-burning fireplace and cozy seating.
• Lower-level recreation space with gas log fireplace, daybed-style seating, and game table.
• For added convenience, a powder room is available on the main floor.

• The main floor primary bedroom offers a king-size bed, TV, and en suite bathroom with a walk-in shower and soaking tub.

Gorgeous home! Everyone loved the house and the location was perfect. We wanted to be away from the city but not too far away. The little village is most definitely walking distance. The entire neighborhood is worth taking a stroll. We went to The Biltmore and enjoyed fall colors on the Blue Ridge Pkwy as well as shopping in the small town of Black Mountain. Our friends that joined us couldn’t stop saying how clean the house was. They said that they would definitely return and tell their friends and family about the wonderful house/lodge. The fireplace downstairs worked great but we weren’t to sure about the main fireplace so we chose not to try to use it which kinda was a bummer. It looked like it might be out of order. Parking and unpacking is better on the bottom level side door. The front stone steps are a bit scary to carry luggage up as there is no railing. We are all in our 50’s and some of us are in good shape and others not so great knees. The heater was a tad bit too high and it got a little dry. We couldn’t figure out how to turn it down so we just went with it as is. All in all I would say it was a success! Thank you for having us.

This was our second time staying at this house, and we loved it! It was comfortable and well-appointed. We love the convenience of the neighborhood. Check-in was easy. The rental company had good communication and was very responsive.

Sibling Getaway

All eight of us adults had a good time. The atmosphere was perfect except for the two barking boxers. The amendimies were top notch.

Beautiful home

The home is beautiful and equipped with everything you need. My family and I enjoyed the location and how close it was to everything. The home is located on a street which has other beautiful homes. There wasn’t much of a view, but the surroundings were peaceful.

Wonderful Mountain House

We loved this house! We stayed here with our family after picking our kids up from camp. The house was so comfortable with plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We loved the downstairs den for watching movies and the kids loved the upstairs loft area to hang out. The beds were all comfortable. We loved the convenience to the grocery store, restaurants, and downtown. We look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Black Mtn!

Luxury in the Mountains

This home is beautiful, filled with comfortable furnishings that accommodate many, and stocked with plenty of amenities (including board games for rainy afternoons). The location is close to hiking trails and the offerings in downtown Black Mountain but tucked away in a very quiet spot.

Everyone loved this place!

We had three generations in one house! Each had their own floor/space. Truly a great vacation home. Loved sitting on the porch, listening to rain or watching fireflies in the field across the street. Easy walk to Sake sushi. The kitchen was nice along with the grill. Everyone had a wonderful time.

Beautiful home in great location

The home is very well appointed and comfortable and was absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend trip because it was so close to town and all of the events. The neighborhood is charming and the house is extremely clean and lovely! I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful home and community

We loved our stay! The home was large and had space for everyone to spread out. The beds were so comfy! We enjoyed burning a fire each night and relaxing in the main living room. Our kids loved the nearby playground and creek. The house had everything we needed and was well stocked.

What a great neighborhoo.

We were pleasantly surprised by the neighborhood. It was very high end and well maintained. There is a shop and restaurants in there. The home was spaceous and clean. We had plenty of room to lounge and play games and watch movies. The highlight was dinner at Pure and Propper in Black Mountain. Maybe 5 minutes away. We had a nice family weekend. Thanks to the host.

Amazing property

Group of 7 friends came for a 60th birthday trip. We travel a lot as a group together. This house was by far the best we have stayed at. The house was amazing, gift basket was a nice touch, there was nothing else we could have asked for. The location was close to everything. I highly recommend this property.

My wife and I, two other couples, and a single friend stayed in this stunning home for a little 3-day / 2-night getaway. We live in Atlanta but we love Asheville and it was one of our group’s birthday weekends. This house was perfect. Truly perfect. It’s in a picturesque neighborhood of other beautiful homes. It’s a short, lovely walk to little shops and restaurants that are part of the same community. The design and build quality of this magnificent house, the decor and furnishings, are all you could ever ask for. The linens, towels, and dishes were top quality. We made fires in the big, stately fireplace on the outside deck off the living room both nights. We enjoyed drinking cocktails at night and coffee in the morning around the large wooden kitchen table. We’d drive into Asheville to explore and enjoy the town and restaurants, then go back to this lovely home to enjoy our long evenings. My wife and I have had rental homes including high-end beach rentals for years. The owners of this home do as nice a job as I’ve ever seen done. Our bedroom and bathroom were both gorgeous and comfortable. It’s a beautiful home in every way. Beautiful design & beautifully appointed. Five well-deserved stars. We’ll definitely return.

We were totally impressed with the house and neighborhood. Everything about the house was pleasing architecturally. It gave our three families plenty of room for privacy when we needed it but room to spend time together at other times.
