Built as a fishing cottage in 1955, this home was brought back to life with its recent full renovation completed in 2024. The architect was successful in maintaining a warm, cottage feel during the project, and brought this charming home up to speed with a modern design flair, energy efficient appliances, effective use of space, and a place for family and friends to truly enjoy the beach, which is a stone skip away from the home across Delaware Ave. Entering the home, a large open room holds space for the roomy eat-in kitchen and living room, which includes a large comfortable seating area, and an open concept kitchen that has been described by a previous guest as “cook friendly while still being able to hang with your guests kind of feel”. Sliding glass doors from the living area take vacationers out onto the ground floor deck, where steps lead them to a second-floor deck with amazing views of the Delaware Bay where, including our famous sunsets, a picnic table and entertaining area await travelers on the deck. In the home, a master bedroom hosts a queen size bed and a full modern bath with walk in shower. A second bedroom has two comfortable twins, and a third bedroom offers a full bed – both rooms with ample closet and storage space. A large full bathroom with tub and shower is in the hallway near these bedrooms. The home has central air and heat, a washer and dryer, and other comforts to enhance your stay. There is an outdoor shower behind the home that is in use during the summer season, and beach chairs, an umbrella, a wagon, and toys for the kiddies are available for all renters in the summer season. The off season in Cape May County is a remarkable time of year, and many restaurants and businesses in nearby Cape May and the Wildwoods extend their season into the fall and again in the spring months. Our house is located 7.5 miles from Cape May, and 8.0 miles to Wildwood, NJ. The Villas is a lovely, quiet refuge from the hustle and bustle of these busy beach towns while close enough for fudge, skeeball many great restaurants and unique shops to enjoy. The Cape May Zoo is 13 miles from the house, and the Cape May Point Light house is 11.5 miles and 217 steps to the top. The sunsets are free, right across the street and spectacular.
