Unbeatable convenience in amazing Eminence!

*A note to past and future guests:

We would like to take a moment to talk about our commitment to you, our guest. It has always been our intention to add amenities and services every year so that the guest experience is better each and every time they stay with us. Recent ideas we have considered are an additional outdoor seating area for the deck that is open to the sky and a soft serve ice cream machine (please feel free to leave ideas or votes for upgrade ideas in our guestbook. We read every single entry). As part of this effort to constantly improve our guest experience we would also like to mention our guest reviews. We would like to thank our previous guests for the overwhelmingly positive reviews of their experiences with us. We have noticed however that the one "you could do better" that we have received more than once is "the mattresses could have been more comfortable". We would like our guests to know that we have heard you, and we have listened. Our upgrade for this year is that the old mattresses have been removed and more comfortable ones have been installed. We recognize that the reason you choose us, besides the unbeatable convenience, is that you need a comfortable place to rest and rejuvenate for your next day's adventures. Convenience? You bet! With the Jacks Fork river less than 1/4 mile away and the Dairy Shack actually in your backyard you might never need get in your car the entire time you are here. Yes, you can literally hit the Dairy Shack with a rock (we would advise against that!) from the spacious back porch. You can also see the courthouse just up the street (which you can visit right after you ignore our advice about the rocks and the Dairy Shack). There is a canoe rental, grocery store, bank, gas, all within walking distance.

Activities? You bet! Everyone knows about the great canoeing and fishing on the Jacks Fork and Current rivers. With an outfitter just a quarter mile down the road, both of these amazing rivers become within walking distance. But did you also know that Shannon county also offers world class turkey and whitetail hunting? Did you know that we have the Ozark Trail and many many springs and creeks as hiking opportunities? Did you know about the sightseeing at Rocky Falls, Alley Spring Mill, or the wild mustangs that roam free in Shannon County? Stay for a day or a lifetime, you will never get bored in Shannon County Missouri.

Comfort? You bet! After a day of enjoying all of the outdoor activities that Eminence has to offer you can relax on either the covered or open-air porches that wrap around half of the house. A beautiful open floor plan, two bedrooms with queen beds and two sleeper sofas in the living room mean plenty of room to spread out while you are recharging for the next day's adventures. If it happens to rain, we have movies to watch, jigsaw puzzles and good old fashion board games. We are pet friendly and have a dog crate with bedding for your dogs. We have beach towels a plenty for the river so don't use suitcase space on those. We have washer and dryer, toaster, blender, mixer, stove, and everything you need to cook if you choose to. All that is missing is you!

* There is a television which is connected to a dvd player with a few movies. We have adopted something of an "unplugged" culture at this property. There is an internet radio for background noise and we do provide internet service so people can do research on activities and services and so that they can check email. Regarding our "unplug" culture, the tv is not connected to any cable or satellite service. We envision guests playing games/cards, working puzzles, engaging in spirited fellowship while at the property. We envisioned the tv/movies as a last resort because of weather, to entertain children, or some other unforeseen circumstance. We do understand that some guests might not immediately appreciate our culture of disengaging from screens and calls (but we do hope that you come around /grin) and we apologize for any inconvenience.
