The Davis - Beautiful Classic Charleston Home!

This is the downstairs unit of a duplex home! The entire downstairs is yours for the duration of your stay. The backyard is fenced but it is not private. It is shared with upstairs resident.

-Bedroom 1: King bed, smart TV
-Bedroom 2: Queen bed
-An office / common room next to the kitchen
-Fully stocked kitchen
-Comfortable living room with queen pullout sofa & Smart TV
-Office workspace with desk
-Front porch with porch swing
-Backyard with patio furniture
-Driveway parking (rare in downtown Charleston!)

Please note:

-we make an effort to ensure the house is safe, but it may not be ideal for families with very young crawling babies as there are some uneven surfaces
-we do not allow smoking/vaping, or unauthorized guests or pets. Any violation of this rule will result in a fine.
-we allow maximum 1 pet, and they must be added in your booking request
-this historic house is 90 years old. That’s part of the charm and challenge of it. The floors are original. You may notice they slope in areas or in general behave/look like 90 year old floors. If this is a concern, this may not be a great fit for your needs

Enjoyed our stay

We loved the old home atmosphere. We expected it to be “old” and loved the charm of that, we do wish the furnishings would have been more comfortable, decor nicer. It could be updated without loosing its old charm. We absolutely loved the neighborhood, neighbors, and location. Super convenient to everything.

House was well taken care of and was vary clean. Nice big rooms with high ceilings. The inside of the house reminded us of our grandparents old houses that we remember from when we were little. Heating and air worked well. Nice fenced backyard. House is in a nice, quite, friendly neighborhood. Beds slept well. We hope to get to stay again some day.

Old and Cozy

Really loved this location and house.Old rickety floor boards, original shipboard walls, uneven floors - bare feet mornings with hot coffee and a beautiful back yardThe A/C was great on 90 sunny daysNeighborhood was really friendlyHost was super fast to communicate when we needed help checking inOh - also very clean on arrival, and upstairs neighbors were super nice

The stay was good and very uneventful. Good location was great for us because of proximity to town and our friends we were visiting. beds were comfy! A few things to note- the home is quirky and old and we liked that but be prepared for that if you are staying! We would have wanted to have a few friends over but that was against the rules and it does sleep 6 but not in beds. Could use a few upgrades to make this and an excellent stay- like outdoor furniture and some of the kitchen items if you are planning to cook and eat in!

The date is incorrect. I stayed from the 27th to 28th. I got a splinter in my hand from the sleigh bed footboard. Home was very warm and AC did not cool it off.

Fire alarm

Fire alarm went off at midnight for no reason. We were not cooking anything. Quite a bit of noise from upstairs occupants. There was five of us staying there, not enough towels, only for bath towels. Called the owner twice no response.

The location was great & it is definitely a beautiful old Charleston home with a lot of character. It is a house that has been converted into a duplex so the owner lives on the 2nd floor but they were very respectful of our privacy. We never actually saw them the entire 10 days we were there but we heard them occasionally. The ac was great, fully stocked kitchen, new appliances, spotless linens, & nice comfy mattresses. The place was not as clean as i would have expected such as spider webs inside on the insude of the curtains/ inside windows, in the corners, & places like that. My biggest complaint is the mold throughout the inside of the oroperty. They also threatebed ti cskl thr police becsuse we were running late checking out after I sent an emsil explaining that we were running behind. I felt that was absolutely not necessary.

Our properties undergo regular inspections, and we can confidently assure you that there are no mold issues at the home. If there were any concerns regarding cleanliness, we would have welcomed the opportunity to address them promptly through our cleaning team—had we been made aware. We value guest feedback and are always open to improvement, but we also rely on direct communication in order to resolve matters effectively.
