This apartment was excellent in some respects and less so in others. Excellent aspects include the location (literally steps from the Pontevecchio), beautiful view of the Arno, large size, functional washer dryer, and cooperation from the host. I’m going to note some drawbacks, but these attributes should not be overlooked. Drawback #1 is street noise making it difficult (verging on impossible for some members of my family) to sleep: the apartment is on the second floor (1 level above the street) and despite our diligent efforts to close the shutters, etc. sleep was a real issue. Drawback #2 was “the little things”: an unpleasant odor in 2 of the 3 bathrooms, some of the bathroom fixtures being beyond their useful lives, the parquet floor coming up in pieces in the master bed room, single bed being very small (says my 4’10” / 1.5m daughter). For a modest investment the small things could all be solved; the street noise is a more serious issue as this place will be a great value to the guest who is not troubled by the noise.
