River Song Cottage ~ quiet retreat 2 bedroom - Q, T/F bunk + T trundle

River Song Cottage is nestled along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway, near downtown St. Croix Falls. You will find 2 bedrooms (1: queen bed, 2: twin over full bunk + twin trundle), 1 bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, open dining/ living room area, and a large deck and backyard that cozies up to the wooded banks of the St. Croix River. The wooded lot between our yard and the river belongs to the National Park Service. Public trails can be accessed through the visitor center next door.

The Property
Our main bedroom, "The Overlook" has a queen size canopy bed. Across the hall in our second bedroom "The Chickadee Nest" there is a twin over full bunkbed, with an additional twin size trundle bed available below.

The full bathroom has a tub/shower, pedestal sink, linens and hair dryer.

In the kitchen you will find a full size refrigerator, stove/oven and dishwasher, as well as a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and electric kettle.

The living and dining rooms share an open space, with a large table, chairs, couch, loveseat, electric fireplace and a smart tv. We utilize a Roku guest system, which allows guests to safely access their own streaming services, as well as free Roku channels. We enjoy collecting interesting books, games and puzzles for guests to enjoy during their stay!

A guest favorite at River Song Cottage is our spacious deck, which overlooks the St. Croix River and where we recently installed a 4-person, natural cedar Nordic Hot Tub. The deck leads to our large backyard, where guests are invited to build a fire in the fire ring (firewood provided) or relax in the hammock.

*Please note, while the view from our backyard is gorgeous in every season, the river is only visible seasonally, as the foliage along the wooded banks is lush enough to fully obstruct views of the river from approximately May through September.

Guest Access
Guest access includes the entire first floor, deck, front and back yards. The basement level is currently undergoing renovation for an eventual expansion of River Song Cottage and is closed to guest access at this time.

House Rules
Please be sure to respect our neighbors by keeping noise at an acceptable level. Quiet hours are from 9pm-9am.

We allow up to 4 cars to be parked in the driveway.

No smoking of any kind is permitted inside or within 10 feet of the home.

Pets
Up to 2 dogs are allowed. We kindly request that guests clean up after their dogs both indoors and outdoors. One pet bed is provided, and we ask that dogs are not allowed to go on the guest beds.

Hot Tub
We want our guests to be safe! A hot tub waiver and rules will need to be signed before access is given to the hot tub. A link to digitally complete the waiver will be sent after booking.
• Use the hot tub at your own risk.
• Shower and rinse bathing suits before using the hot tub.
• No more than 4 people may be in the hot tub at a time.
•The hot tub is only for the guests registered through the booking. Visitors of guests are not allowed to use the hot tub.
• Pets are not allowed in the hot tub, or to climb on the hot tub, at any time.
• Anyone under 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times. We do not advise young children to use the hot tub.
• Pregnant women, persons with heart disease, diabetes or high blood pressure problems, other health conditions and elderly people should not use the hot tub without a doctor’s permission.
• People using alcohol or other drugs should not use the hot tub.
• Use the stairs to enter and exit the hot tub.
• Use caution if areas around the hot tub and deck become wet and slippery.
• Do not use the hot tub alone.
• Do not use the hot tub if the water temperature is more than 104˚F.
• No glass of any kind allowed in or around the hot tub.
• No sex or nudity allowed in the hot tub.
• Please do not pee in the hot tub.
• Take regular breaks to avoid drowsiness, overheating or dehydration.
• Do not use the hot tub cover as a table or a seat.
• Turn off the jets and put the hot tub cover back on, whenever the hot tub is not in use.
• No soap, oils or other additives to the water are allowed, except by purchasing through our authorized service technician.
• The hot tub is professionally maintained. Do not add any chemicals to the water.
• Chlorine is used as a sanitizer. Do not use the hot tub if you are allergic.
• The hot tub water is checked immediately after guests leave - in the event the water is ruined, and needs to be replaced because of food, beverages, soap, makeup, glass, dirt, etc, there will be a maintenance charge of $200 to clean, refill, heat and sanitize the hot tub and water.

No parties are allowed and the house is limited to the total number of guests agreed upon during booking.

Guests who leave the property with extraordinary cleaning issues (vomit, spilled wine stains, other bodily fluids, etc.), will be assessed an additional $100 cleaning fee minimum.

Bookings for personal or business require that the VRBO user booking the arrangement stay as a guest in the house.

In the unfortunate event of disruptions alerting neighbors, guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately. If guests are suspected of carrying and/or using illegal drugs of any kind, authorities will be engaged, and guests will be asked to vacate the property immediately.
