This charming home in Algona offers 3 cozy bedrooms - 2 with queen beds and 1 with a trundle bed with two large twins that can be fastened into a double. The 3 bathrooms include a jetted bathtub for a soothing soak. With a living room featuring a comfy sofa and oversized chairs. guests can relax and unwind after a day of exploring. AC, WiFi, and a washing machine and dryer are just a few of the superb amenities provided. It's easy to see why you'll be able to unwind at our place. Thorington St is known for its beautiful houses and large oak trees. Hunters welcome. For the ice fishermen there are lakes close by.

It’s a perfectly located close to the Main Street. We walked to restaurants. House was clean and it worked great for 5 adults.

This beautiful home was perfect for our sister reunion - 5 of us gathered to share stories, catch up with each other, and reconnect! It is close to downtown with cute shops and great eating places! The host was fantastic from beginning to end! What a great place to relax and make new memories!

We had a great stay, easy location to get into and out of, and close to amenities downtown and on the main drag. The house itself was unique and charming, way better than a hotel!

This is a beautiful property. They have done a lovely job of preserving the history and modernizing it all at the same time. This charming home is comfy and cozy, while still quite spacious. Owners are very friendly and helpful, and handled questions promptly. The convenience of being close to downtown was great, and we could easily walk to shops in the area.

Thank you so much for your review, you were great guests. Please keep us on your travel plans for the future. The house is over 130 years old, and we have tried to keep the character of a 1870 home with some modern additions. The air hockey table adds fun on a rainy day.

We loved staying in this old historic home and learning about the history of it. Everything was as listed under the description. It was beautiful and very comfortable! We could walk to the downtown area for restaurants and coffee shops!

History preserved
This lovely 1870s home has been masterfully preserved and I was even able to hear quite a bit about the homes history which is so much fun! The house is spacious offering all the comforts necessary to really rest and relax but also 23 minutes from The shrine of the Grotto of the redemption if you're looking for adventure. The hosts were some of the kindest folks, most accommodating!

This was the worst apartment I’ve ever rented!! To start with, I open the door and there’s a hole inside the door on the floor. I go into the living room and the furniture is old and gross to sit on. The dining table was ready to fall apart and the chairs did fall apart right under me l! The kitchen smelled very musty, like there was mold everywhere. The bathtub/shower didn’t drain and my sister had to use the toilet plunger to clear the drain, gross!! The owner was going to uber some drain cleaner, but we had to be at the apartment to get it. We tried not to be at the apartment other than sleeping there. The bedrooms were very good sized with lots of storage. The bed in the main bedroom didn’t even have a box spring to fit the mattress that was on top of it! The second bedroom was very good sized but the bed was very hard and not comfortable to sleep on. I will say that the area the apartment is located is very safe and close to all the metro and buses!

Thorington was once the Main St in Algona and then became the “sulk stocking” street where all the wealthy homes were build. It is one of the most enjoyable streets to walk in Algona.
