loud building, no sunlight, poorly maintained staircase, and bathtub has a clogged drain. not enough linens provided for the duration I stayed. good location, peaceful neighborhood. Hosts' vrbo messaging wasn't working so I had to call and she texted me the check-in details after a short delay. Overall a quaint apartment in student housing.

The place is fine and a block from where we needed to be to visit family in Rogers park. Without a lot of hotel options in the area we went with this. But there were multiple issues. The cleaning fee is outrageously high for the size of the tiny room. And, even with that cleaning fee, the room still smelled of cigarette smoke. The added fees also meant we might have been better off at a comparably priced hotel. The bed sloped to the side so we had to sleep toward the middle of the bed to be comfortable. Hosts required multiple contacts to get arrival details. We got the details in time but not before arriving in Chicago. In all it was convenient and fine but not great and we won’t stay here again

Perfect for what we needed!

Perfect place to crash and shower. We loved the city and the location of the VRBO, only down fall was not having a microwave or way to heat up leftovers and no towels for when showering.

Hello!!! Yes these are new units and we are still installing Microwaves but we Do offer towels! They were in the closet !!!

I Never Got The Chance To Stay. Due To The Lack Of Communication Between The Host And Vrbo My Stay Was Double Booked And Canceled The Day I Arrived. Not Only Did They Fail To Communicate It With Me But I Had To Come Out Of Extra Funds To Find A Place To Stay. Holiday Week Equals ALL Stays Were Already Booked!

The unending list of problems started at the very beginning when I was given the wrong check in information and mistakenly entered someone else's room without their consent. Once I was given the correct room # and access code, I walked into a room that was not as photographed. There's no blinds on the windows, the drape rod is not mounted well and I was hit in the face while trying to adjust the curtains. A dog chewed through the remote so the TV is unwatchable. There's no blow dryer. The wifi went out on the last day, so if you work remote have a hot spot on standby, The bathroom was not cleaned well, towels were stained and the shower curtain was moldy - but that pales in comparison to the fact that there was no door knob on the bathroom door. This caused me and another person to be locked inside the bathroom more than once. I had to break off the hook to a towel rack in order to have something to jam into the door and turn so I could get out.I informed the host of who offered to send someone to fix it, but after the horrible experience with the room's access code I didn't want anyone else to have it since it can't be changed during your stay, I called and asked as soon as I checked in and the host would not do it.While the location of the rental is great, you can walk to the beach in 10ish mins, I would never stay here again or recommend anyone else to.

I want to be cautious about this review because this VRBO is so close to meeting the high standards of others in the area. Locationamazing, building clean and quiet, hostgood communication, bedcomfortable. The small details that make a stay special were missing though. Some of the fixtures were flimsy, which may be an issue with the building owners, rather than the host. There were only a couple of flimsy towels, no washcloths or dishtowels. The unit is fairly spacious, so there could be enough space to add another comfortable chair, some lamps, and shelf space to allow for full size glassware and more housewares. Once there is a little bit more attention to comfort, I think this VRBO will be right up there with others in the Rogers Park area.
