Harte's Haven Mountain Retreat in the Woods

Hi, I’m from Twain Harte and this house is my personal home when I’m not out traveling. I take great pride in keeping it well cared for and hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do. In my free time, you’ll usually find me woodworking, hiking the local trails, fishing nearby lakes, or snowboarding in the Sierras. I love sharing my home and this beautiful area with guests—whether you're here to relax, explore, or do a little of both!

This neighborhood is my favorite in all of Twain Harte. It’s tucked away in a quiet, peaceful area with no through-traffic, making it perfect for relaxing. Just steps from the front door, you’ll find access to some of the best hiking trails and fishing spots in the area. Plus, being right off Middle Camp Road means you’re a little closer to Dodge Ridge Ski Resort and beautiful Pinecrest Lake—perfect for skiing, snowboarding, or summer lake days. It’s the best of both worlds: serene surroundings with adventure close by.

What makes this property truly stand out is the personal touch throughout the home. Many of the furniture pieces are handcrafted by me, the owner, giving the space a unique, custom feel you won’t find elsewhere. The art theme features photography focused on local wildlife, bringing a bit of Twain Harte’s natural beauty indoors. Another rare feature is the flat driveway and level land, which is a big plus—especially in the snow—making access much easier than many other homes in the area. The house is surrounded by towering sugar pines, giving you that secluded, peaceful feeling of being deep in the mountain forest, while still being conveniently located.
