Get what you pay for
Look, you get what you pay for. Isn't that always the way?This place was dodgy from the beginning. The lightbulb in the staircase was burned out, and it was steep and dark. But manageable.When I got inside the hallway, there was a large washer/dryer blocking the hallway. I had to squeeze past it (barely made it). When I got into the room - it was... fine? It looked like the photos for the most part. But it was just... off. It looked like it was under construction. There was an exposed wire above the bathroom mirror. There was a wood plank loose on the step. The windows didn't lock. (3rd floor, so that's probably ok- but... hm, no way down from here if there's a fire or something....) There's a button on the door handle between the stairs and the hallway that could lock us out of the stairs if someone decided to get cute. It's... run down and weird. There's only one trash can in the entire two bedroom apartment. The only A/C is in the loft, and the bedroom is HOT. All the soaps in the apartment are in identical little brown bottles with no label. I tried to guess based on location -but the one in the shower smelled like laundry detergent...I don't have a pet, but I noted that online it said the apartment was pet friendly, but the sign on the door said pets were not allowed. So beware of that I guess.The door didn't line up right, so locking it was a huge chore -you had to lift the handle up and to the right at just the correct angle to get the bolt to throw.
