I am a transplanted New Yorker, who despite my best efforts otherwise, has fallen in love with Lake Michigan. I love food - cooking, feeding others and eating, and as a result, I spend a lot of time exercising to make up for it. I am part of a group that swims in Lake Michigan year-round and a member of (and baker for) the Evanston Bike Club. I can direct you to all things bicycle, food or swimming related, and if you dare, I can introduce you to open-water swimming.
Por qué escogió este alojamiento
I have loved the Michiana Shores area for years. Before having this house, I would rent a house in the area for a week in the summer and invite all of my friends. I love the proximity to Lake Michigan because I am a year-round open-water swimmer. I love being near the orchards because I love to pick and make jam. There are trails to hike or cross-country ski and the Marquette Greenway - a bike trail which will span from Chicago to Holland, Michigan passes right by Michiana Shores. Indiana Dunes National Park is just down the road and New Buffalo is a 5-minute drive away. The best part of this particular house (and perhaps the most dangerous for me) is that it is around the corner from Stop 50 Pizza which makes the best pizza in the area and an incredible dessert called the Biga Donut which includes a wood-fired dough, nutella, cinnamon-sugar and a scoop of icecream on top.

My house is set up to be lived in. I love staying in it and exploring the area and want my guests to have a similar experience. Most of the bedrooms have themes that make sleeping even more fun - laying on the beach, camping in the woods, and readying yourself for your next biking adventure. My kitchen is a place where you can cook or bring in a pizza and sit at the table and lounge with friends and family. The backyard is inviting and relaxing with a deck, picnic table, grill, firepit, hot tub, and outdoor shower. The fenced-in yard is set up so your furry friends can join you outside without you worrying about their running off. The area is peaceful and wooded, and a pleasure to walk through on the way to the beach. This is not just a rental that I never stepped foot in - it is my second home that I invite you into, and it is important to me that you are comfortable and that your needs are met.
