A peaceful retreat in traditional Charentais house with pool close to Saintes

Situated in the Charente-Maritime countryside our two holiday homes are rented together and are ideally located for those seeking tranquility or wishing to explore the rich culture and history of nearby towns. Ideal for multigenerational family holidays, each house has its own kitchen and bathroom so you can holiday together and be independent! Relax by the swimming pool, enjoy al fresco dining on the terrace or take a stroll to explore the local vineyards and surrounding countryside.

One house has a large living space incorporating a fully equipped kitchen and dining/living space. Upstairs there are 2 double bedrooms, one of which can have a double-bed or 2 single beds. There is also a bathroom with a bath and shower.
The other house has a fully equipped kitchen/dining-room, an adjoining living-room and a WC. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms, 2 double rooms and a small children's room with 2 single beds. There is a bathroom with an Italian style walk-in shower. Most of the rooms have electric radiators (electricity for the radiators not included).

Both houses are fully equipped with an outside terrace, washing machines and wood-burning stoves (wood not included) for the cooler evenings of Spring and Autumn. There is a private entrance and private parking to the gites and they have their own private garden with access to the swimming-pool.

Cots, highchairs as well as a baby bath and changing table are available.

Please note that the smaller house is currently being refreshed so there will be more pictures posted in early Spring 2025. We will also update you with pictures of gardens, terraces and swimming-pool as the season approaches.

Our guests will have the full use of their own private entrance onto the property, their own parking area and private garden as well as full access to the swimming-pool.
Myself and my husband live permanently on the property, however we fully respect our guests privacy. We will be available should assistance be required for anything at all, otherwise we will remain discreet. Should we leave the premises for more than a day, we will leave contact information with our guests.

The property is situated between Saintes, Cognac and St Jean d'Angély (15-20 minutes from each town). The small town of Brizambourg is 3 minutes from the property, where you will find a great bakery, Coop and pharmacy. We are an hour from La Rochelle and an hour and a half from Bordeaux. The coast is 45 minutes away.
