The host has clearly gone to great lengths to anticipate guest needs. We appreciated the complimentary water bottles and snacks, plus practical items like shampoo, conditioner, band-aids, a razor, and much more. However, despite these thoughtful touches, our overall experience fell short.When we arrived, we had not received the code to enter the property despite reaching out through multiple channels. After a stressful wait and several attempts to contact the host, VRBO support was finally able to reach them. During that time, a police officer even stopped to make sure we weren’t trying to break in—an embarrassing and unsettling start to our stay.Once inside, peace and quiet were hard to come by. The heating system runs loudly and frequently, and noise from the neighboring unit carries right through the walls—we could hear footsteps, conversations, and toilets flushing as early as 6 a.m.We heard back from the host once, asking what we felt would be a fair resolution. Since suggesting a partial refund, we haven’t received any further response.It’s unfortunate, because the unit does have potential and the amenities are genuinely thoughtful. Still, the poor communication at check-in and lack of soundproofing made the stay far less restful than expected for the price.
