Best location

This apartment was the perfect size and location for our family of four. We enjoyed walking around the central part of Reykjavik and when we got a rental car for part of our stay we had no problem finding street parking.

Helga and her partner were really nice and came to help us locate a couple of items (they live above the apartment.) The beds were comfortable and it was always warm and cozy with plenty of hot water. You can’t beat the location.However, there are a few things that I feel were not represented well in the listing that I would want others to be aware of before booking.There is no dryer. There is a washing machine so I assumed there would be a dryer. This may not seem important but we were a family of four who packed light believing we could frequently wash our clothing. Washing a small load of clothes and then hanging everything on a drying rack that took up half the living room and waiting 12 hours for it to dry (we visited in November) wasn’t ideal. The hot tub is in the front yard area and is not filled and heated unless requested ahead of time (which we didn’t know because there is no house manual and Helga didn’t get back to me in messages for a couple days) and they were also not available to fill it on Saturday and Sunday because they were out of town. So we never used the hot tub. The listing said there is an indoor pool but I wasn’t able to locate it and Helga never answered my question about it.There is no dishwasher as was stated in the listing.There is a very limited amount of towels/washcloths availableThe twin bedroom is in the back of house so to get to the rest of the house you have to walk through the main bedroom, which makes intimacy difficult. Lol.

Great location, cozy house, nice hosts

Great stay in Iceland. Perfect location for exploring the country. Helga was wonderful to work with and was very responsive to my emails. The second bedroom is behind the first one and requires you to walk through it. This was not an issue, but just something to note. Also the second bedroom was two single beds, we easily moved the beds together. The kitchen was well stocked and had what we needed to cook dinner at home one night. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay downtown.

Kommunikation mit Gastgeber war sehr freundlich und unkompliziert, Lage ist top und in der Nähe des Zentrums, Wohnung ist gut. Negativ war jedoch, dass die Anzeige nicht der Realität entspricht. 1) Keine Geschirrspülmaschine, 2) kein "on-site"-Parken (parken kostet zwischen 0-20 Euro pro Tag, je nachdem wie weit man bereit ist zu laufen und wo man einen Platz findet) und 3) der Whirlpool ist gut, aber es gibt keinen weiteren Innen- oder Außenpool, wie es in der Anzeige den Eindruck erweckt.

Ideal Location

Wonderful property with a lovely and thoughtful host. Centrally located near everything. Very short walk to a grocery store, 12 min walk to the main bus terminal, and no more than 5-7 min walk to lots of stores, restaurants, and Hallgrimskirkja. Cozy apartment, comfy beds, and everything you could need for your stay. It was always nice to come “home” here at the end of each amazing day in Iceland.

December 31-January 5th

Wow, what an amazing experience staying at this WONDERFUL property. Helga, thank you so much for hosting my friends and I. We had a blast exploring Iceland and knowing we had such a lovely place to come home to at night was comforting. Pictures do not do this place justice. It’s such a large apartment and plenty of space for everyone. Helga provided everything we needed and she let us check in early as well as check out late. She was very accommodating and answered our messages so promptly. The location of this property is just perfect. Right in the middle of the city and a short walk to wherever we needed to go. I highly recommend staying here if you plan to visit Iceland. I know we will be back for sure.

Summer Trip to Iceland

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in Helga's apartment. The neighborhood was perfect for us as we walked all over the city. There is parking on site. We will stay here again when we return to Reykjavik!

Perfect central location in downtown Reykjavik

Helga was a wonderful host and her property is adorable! It could not have been a better location! Would definitely stay here again if we make it back to Reykjavik! Iceland is gorgeous in the winter and the NYE fireworks were amazing! Thank you for helping to make this a memorable trip for our 12 year wedding anniversary!

Convenient Location, Very Clean, Friendly and Helpful Hostess

The property is located within a short walking distance from most anything you would want to see or do in Old Reykjavic, and a short drive to everything else in the area. The property was very clean, and nicely decorated. The property was well furnished, for a group of 4 people, but could use some small microwave dishes. The hostess was very friendly, helpful, and a wonderful resource for anyone visiting Iceland Some minor points: 1) There is no private parking at the property, but I suspect this is not unusual in central Reykjavik. Public parking on the street or a parking area in front of the property was always available and at a nominal cost. 2) Remember to bring eye shades for sleeping if you plan to visit during the Iceland summer, as it never gets dark outside, and it never gets completely dark inside the apartment. We were there for the summer solstice, and I am a light sleeper. Most people would not be bothered....no one else in our group was. 3) Also remember to bring your own towels if you plan to visit one of the many area thermal pools, or there will be a charge of $5-$6 at each location. We plan to return to Iceland as soon as possible and as often as possible. We had a wonderful time in this amazing country. We would definitely stay at this property again.

Great accommodations and location!

Our family of four spent 5 days at this lovely apartment. The location was great and the accommodations were just what we needed for our time in Iceland. The hosts were lovely and helpful. Definitely would stay here again our next trip to Iceland.
