Bienvenido a nuestra casa del lago en el lago Pontchartrain en Slidell, Louisiana. Ideal para Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest o simplemente para alejarse de todo ...
Ubicado a 40 minutos del aeropuerto internacional de Nueva Orleans. El hogar tiene
Tres habitaciones (la habitación principal tiene cama queen, dos habitaciones adicionales tienen capacidad para dormir 6. Área adicional para dormir en el estudio (futón doble, 2 sofás) Amplia terraza ubicada fuera del estudio frente al lago. Debajo de la casa hay una gran área con mesas y sillas para el entretenimiento que también se ve sobre el lago Pontchartrain.
Ocupación máxima 12 personas.

Cocina, sala de estar y terraza grande con vista al lago: ideal para ver puestas de sol, comer cangrejos hervidos o simplemente disfrutar de la brisa. También tenemos un muelle de 380 pies que se extiende sobre el lago Pontchartrain con una cubierta para botes al final. Ideal para pescar, pescar cangrejos, nadar, pasear en bote o lo que sea que sea tu pasión.

Great communication with very nice host. Restaurants, live bait and boat launch nearby. Home was nice and well equipped. Fishing from the dock with live bait wasn’t great but I think it’s just not right time of year. Fishing from boat was amazing, Redfish, speckled trout, black drum and sheepshead all caught at the trestles. New Orleans a short drive away. Had a blast.

Beautiful and relaxing

The home was absolutely beautiful. The location was very convenient to stores yet not to close so we were able to relax and fish. Great location for a small family or group. The property owner was extremely helpful. We didn't have to travel far to see parades and the drive to New Orleans was close enough for us to travel on a daily basis but far enough so that we were able to escape it all when we were ready to relax. We will definitely be booking again in the near future.

Fantastic!

We had an amazing time! Thanks for being so accommodating and communicative. We had a really relaxing time watching the sunset. It was so nice to be able to go into town but come home back to a nice quiet, comfy house.

Excellent time on Lake Pontchatrain

Clean, comfortable and cozy. So much outdoor seating and great views rain or shine, day or night. Unlike some places we have stayed, the cute kitchen was well stocked with everything including coffee filters, basic spices, sugar, flour, etc. The view from the decks at night and during the lightning storms were amazing while swinging on the porch swings. You could even do some crabbing and paddle board from the private pier! Gaynell was a great communicator and very responsive. We could not have felt more welcome!! Amazing! Her notebook of information was super helpful for all things local. Wi-Fi was strong enough to work remotely. A really relaxing stay! We HIGHLY recommend. Thank you, Gaynell😊 We will definitely plan to book again!!

Slidell fishing trip!

It isn’t our first time staying here and it won’t be our last! Once again, everything was wonderful! Property is as described. Very clean and maintained. Communicating with property owner is never a hassle. Close proximity to everything. Fishing/crabbing on the lake is great. We love this place and we’ll definitely keep coming back!

Spring Break Trip

Great spot to stay and go to all the Louisiana activities. We chose this home because it was on the lake and my teen son loves to fish. He caught several fish and a dozen crabs too. It was also a great central spot to be able to go to New Orleans, plantation homes, swamp tours and horseback riding and charter fishing. Good restaurants nearby if you don’t want to cook or just want good seafood. The host is wonderful. She remedied a small problem that came up during our stay and checked on us afterward.

Awesome family trip

We had an amazing stay 😁. The host was outstanding! We relaxed enjoyed family playing games reading books and watching movies (Together)and fishing on the dock, beautiful sunrises and stunning sunsets, kenny's is a must try delicious 😋 Rigolets for bait outstanding Slidell southern hospitality amazing, and just over the bridge is New Orleans with it's rich culture, delicious food and so many things to do.we loved the house , the location wished we could have stayed longer. Stellar family trip !

Great trip on the lake

The house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The outdoor space was amazing with great views of the sunset. Fishing on the dock was fun even though it was cold. So close to the boat launch for boating. Also communicating with the host was easy and quick. Hope to go back again.

Perfect place to recharge and close to New Orleans

We had a great time in this house. We watched sunrise every morning. I enjoyed my coffee at the porch while my husband and the kids were fishing at the pier. They had fun catching all the catfish. All of the catches were 2+ lb. The house is right on lake side. But there is no water traffic. You can sit on the porch or pier all day long peacefully, and to absorb the serenity. The neighborhood is very quiet. Since that is not a pass thru street, it seldom has any traffic. The house was very clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen had all the cooking utensils and seasoning. We just needed to get grocery from Walmart (about 15min away). We cooked breakfast every morning. Danielle, the host, was super nice and friendly, you will get the true southern hospitality from her. She went above and beyond to make sure we got everything we needed to have a great stay. I told her about my kids who love fishing, she offered us some shrimp baits. They caught so many catfish. They also tried crab traps, but no luck. Highway 11 is right there. It took us about 30min to go to New Orleans. We end up went there twice. We watched the Sugar Bowl parade, visited French Quarter, Jackson Square, French Market and the 2 National Parks locations (French Quarter Visitor Center, Jazz museum). This house is at perfect location where you can enjoy the quietness and you are not far from all the attractions. And the hospitality will make you feel super welcome.

Great house on Lake Pontchartrain

Just got back from three nights in the heat of August at this lovely house on Lake Pontchartrain. Gaynell (owner) was very friendly and accommodating. My son and I enjoyed fishing at night on the lights and we caught lots of different species of fish - and some really big garfish too. We also caught several large crabs of the pier using the nets provided. We had nice boil the last day we were there. I recommend this place for a relaxing get away..

Great Stay and wonderful host

This property was perfect for our trip. It’s close to the interstate and convenient to restaurants, groceries and shopping. The property has plenty of space to just sit and enjoy being with family and friends or go out on the pier to fish and crab. My nephews had a ball trying to catch crabs and fish. We hosted a crab and shrimp boil for our family and friends and had everything we needed to make the event a huge success. The house is well stocked with pot and pans, serving trays and utensils to put on an event for over 20 people. Even with the temperatures hovering around 95, the constant breeze off the lake and covered seating kept it comfortable to sit and enjoy being on the lake. So if you want to experience a southern tradition of “Going to the Camp” to make family memories or have a “Fais do-do” than this is the place for you.

Perfect Getaway

What a perfect weekend retreat to catch up with family. Our gang had a blast and we are looking forward to making this a yearly tradition. The property manager is so delightful and helpful. All I can say is everyone had a Wonderful time at a relaxing place.

Great place to stay

Wow, what a great place to stay when your looking for a clean, fun place to vacation or just relax. The owner, Mrs Gaynell met us and was wonderful and very helpful in the places to visit while we were there. I’m hoping we can stay here again in the near future.

The place was very peaceful. Loved the location and that New Orleans was right across the bridge.

Extremely impressed with the cleanliness and amenities. A deck, pier, crab traps, grill, and boiling pot were available. Enough room for the family.

Fishing & sight seeing

We came to fish and visit New Orleans and this was a great location to do both. The cottage is cute, the boat launch is great and right up the road (also sells shrimp for bait), NOLA is a easy half hour drive. The host was charming and very easy to work with. The only thing we were disappointed with is that you can’t keep your boat in the water at this dock. The brackish water made for great fishing and we caught both fresh and salt water fish.

My family grew up spending weekends and summers at another summer home in this area (Near Hwy 11 bridge). Great times and memories. Their was always something to do for the kids - crabbing, fishing, swimming, boating and skiing. The adults can just sit back, relax and enjoy the breeze and watch the sunset. Our original summer home was destroyed by a Hurricane in 2002 and after years of searching we found this house in 2010. Let new memories continue for your family as they have for ours.

We love this area since it is so peaceful to be overlooking the beautiful Lake Pontchartrain where we can enjoy fishing , crabbing , boating or just hanging out with friends and family ! Easy access to anything we want to do or to just enjoy doing nothing !

This property is not on a canal or inlet, its on the lake itself. The view is incredible, the breeze and fresh air are second to none. We have 380 foot pier that extends over Lake Pontchartrain and has a boat deck on the end of it. Great for fishing, crabbing, swimming, boating or whatever your passion may be.
