Hermosa casa de una historia ubicada en la comunidad de Sherwood Forest. ¡No hay mejor lugar para su disfrute pacífico y silencioso! Great set up for low key family weekend

The house was set up well for a family weekend. Nice seating area to watch tv, plenty of kitchen supplies and a grill for food, and convenient to stores for groceries.

Large family gathering

Property met our needs. We needed a large space due to the number of family members. The home provided a retreat since we were there for a funeral. Host was very considerate to allow us to check out a bit later. Thank you.

Nephew's weddings weekend

Evan's home was perfect for our family. The house was exactly as described and very comfortable for all our needs. Evan left us some breakfast goodies too. The house was clean and equipped, and very convenient to our destinations. Any questions we asked, Evan answered quickly and completely. We highly recommend this home for your stay.

Sweet Home Winston-Salem

We really enjoyed this property, it was spacious, nicely furnished, had a well stocked kitchen, lovely master bedroom and interesting addition room which we really loved. The back deck is where we spent most of our time though, really comfy seating and nice views. We watched hawks flying around the cell tower near by and enjoyed it immensely. We highly recommend.

Family Visit

We had a group of 4 adults and 3 teenagers visiting Winston Salem for the Thanksgiving holiday. This property fit everyone comfortably and was in an ideal location for us. We were a short 5 minute walk to my brothers house, which is where we spent most of our time while in town. The property owner was very responsive to all of my questions leading up to our stay. Once we arrived, everything ran smoothly. All in all it was a great stay!

Absolutely wonderful

My family and I really enjoyed our stay. The house looks small from the outside but once you enter it is surprisingly huge. Each room was cozy and homey, which we really enjoyed. The beds were comfy and my aunt fell in love with a couch that was in one of the rooms because it was so comfy. She said that every time she sat on the couch she fell asleep and it was wonderful. The location was super close to everyone we came to see. Definitely a place we'll keep in mind if we come back down again. Just a wonder place.

Spacious and Accommodating

The house is bigger than it appears from the outside! 5 bedrooms AND 2 extra pull out couches in the living area. It has this adorable hanging bed/swing on the porch with fun twinkle lights. There is a basement (it's off limits), but even without using the basement there was more than enough space for our large group. The house is in a sweet neighborhood, close to downtown Winston Salem. The host was very accommodating and even provided some staple items in the fridge! Would certainly recommend!

Responsive Owner, Home Needs TLC

The home was a good size for our 2 families of 4. However we would unfortunately not stay again. There were several items that need attention - sheets on 2 of the beds had holes, washcloths should be replaced, vacuum did not work, garbage disposal didn’t work, couches need to be cleaned, washer was stuck on quick wash, dryer had a loud noise. Some of these issues could have been okay if we knew up front. We really appreciated how responsive the owner was to the issues we had.

Great Spot to use as a "Home-Away-from-Home Base"

The house itself is as described on the website. It was wonderful to have 5 bedrooms (although we only ended up using 4). There was plenty of space for us to play games -- we actually sat around the breakfast bar most of the times we were at the house and never even used the dining table! Our host, Evan, was very responsive even though he was out of the country during our visit. We actually used the home more as a 'home base' while we were on a Girls Weekend (mom and 1 daughter + 4 daughters-in-law) and most activities were outside the home. However, the home was central to all we did and we were never more than 10-12 minutes away from any destination. Thanks, Evan, for sharing your home with us!

Not a place I would stay again

the home was in a good area but the inside was a hot mess. the front door automated lock never wanted to work properly. they only had 4 tiny towels and two of them had 2 large towels in the center. the two bedrooms at the end of the hallways would not lock or stay closed so we had to prop something in front of them every night. the owner was responsive when I asked for a key but the house needs some updates.

Deceptively spacious, yet warm and welcoming

Our family enjoyed a special gathering at Sharlene & Evan's home in Winston-Salem. Although the home looks modest and small from the street, it truly has 5 main level bedrooms, comfortably accommodates 10, and has great common spaces to share special times together. Beds and linens were comfortable and high quality, and there were plenty of towels and paper products. The kitchen is well-equipped (although we did ask one of our late arrivals to bring a blender), and the cute little coffee bar was enjoyed by all. It was great to have some basics provided (i.e. olive oil, seasonings, basic condiments, coffee) because our group cooked every meal. The daybed swing on the back porch was a huge hit with our crew. Even though it was rainy and cold, several of us wrapped up in one of the soft, fluffy blankets and curled up for comfy naps. At night, the twinkly lights and wind chimes made for a great getaway for those who wanted to stay up for late night conversations. Now that we've been here, I can say that the descriptor --- Privacy and Proximity --- totally applies. The house is in a neat, quiet neighborhood but with plenty of shopping, restaurants and activities within just a few minutes. Overall, we cannot recommend this property enough, and I suspect we'll be renting it again some time in the future since it can meet the needs of several different groups. Convenient for Wake Forest events

Nice place. Quiet neighborhood.. The Master suite was very nice and kitchen well-appointed. We appreciated some of the staples like eggs and milk that were provided The back porch was a great place to sit out and visit, especially with the hanging bed. The owner was available but not intrusive. We’ve already booked again for another Wake Forest occasion.

Family Time

My experience with the property is just what we needed for time with family. The layout was perfect for our time together and had all the amenities we needed. Everyone had space and the master was a perfect for a restful sleep. The neighborhood was quiet and convenient to everything.

Great friends reunion

House was perfect for a reunion of my friend and me with families/ kids. Clean, spacious, more than enough sleeping room (we had 4 kids and 3 adults), and quiet spaces to tuck away and read or watch tv. We ventured to pilot mountain for the day and access was an easy 30 minute drive. House had all the necessary amenities - WI-FI, laundry, kitchen w all necessities. Evan welcomed us w a personalized greeting. Neighborhood felt very safe for my wife and I to take an evening stroll. Grocery and gas are within 5 minutes. Definitely made for a great weekend away. Felt like a home.

Got more than I payed for. Need an excuse to return to area and I will look to stay here. Family loved the home. Found out one grandchild knows a little about playing piano. Now two young family members want lessons. Life experiences when you least expect them. Plenty of comfortable room.

A great space for a weekend in Winston-Salem

This was a wonderful house - very clean and spacious (there were six of us in town for a tennis tournament), convienently located, and the owner was very welcoming - communication was great. We especially loved the covered porch and daybed swing. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Awesome Stay

We stayed at this property for five nights. Evan had breakfast food and a bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived, so nice. Property is very spacious, everyone had their own area to relax in. We would highly recommend this property.

My home was built in the 1950's and has been completely remodeled. It is a large home and works so well for large groups. The kitchen and bar area are perfect for cooking and allowing you to be involved with all guests. There is an abundance of seating and dining options. A favorite spot is the hanging bed porch. A great place to relax after a full day with your beverage of choice!
