The host's communication was very good prior to our arrival.
We arrived on a Friday evening after dark. We had a little difficulty finding the location as the address number was not on the house. We rang the doorbell camera and were told to go around back. We went through a fence and saw that the apartment is actually a finished shed with a small bathroom and kitchen attached. However, it was clean and had a nice sitting area outside.
We found that the water was turned off and there was no 'Guest' wi-fi network as expected from the instructions. We notified the host and he responded promptly. He turned on the water and gave us the password for the host's home network.
Other minor issues we found were only half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom (we booked a two-night stay), empty shower gel, no smoke alarm or fire extinguisher, very limited receptacles, and waking at 7:45 am to hear small planes flying directly over the house every few minutes. Turns out the house is in the departure flight path of North Perry airport, about a half mile away. Not the host fault, but worth noting.
On Saturday afternoon we found an ant infestation next to our bed. At that point we notified the owner and lowered our rating considerably.
We had a disagreement about a pet fee where we were in the wrong and apologized. However, the owner was very rude and bullying, hence the terrible communication rating.
