Este encantador y apropiadamente llamado "Little Cottage" fue recientemente renovado en 2017. Disfrute de una corta caminata (300 pies) por un camino de tierra hasta una pequeña playa y un muelle privado en el lago Buel, bellamente situado en el corazón de Berkshires.

Experimente muebles nuevos y contemporáneos en un entorno campestre. Antigüedades, restaurantes rústicos, esquí, senderismo, teatro y artes escénicas están a solo unos minutos. Canchas de tenis de arcilla en el lugar. Ideal para familias y entusiastas del aire libre o aquellos que solo quieren desconectarse de todo.

La cabaña está a solo unos pasos del agua, donde podrá disfrutar de la pesca, la natación y la navegación en el lago Buel. Hay una comunidad privada de playa y muelle. También hay una rampa pública para botes y estacionamiento a solo una calle.

Esta propiedad está a pocos pasos del Campamento Half Moon, un campamento de verano mixto para dormir para niños de 6 a 16 años que también ofrece campamentos de medio día.

We spent 16 wonderful days at the well stocked Little Cottage which seemed quite spacious, very comfortable and overall definitely homey. We would definitely sign up for another vacation there if our schedules work.

Beautiful house in the woods. Roomy and welcoming. Easy walk to lake for swimming and close to Great Barrington, grocery stores etc - also close to many attractions and hikes.Only problem is guest bedrooms are downstairs and bathrooms upstairs; also there may be squirrels in the walls downstairs. Some of my guests were put off by this, so they slept upstairs on a very comfy and private futon. The owner is very responsive and helpful.

Wonderful!

My husband and I stayed for a week and enjoyed all of it. The house is well equipped and comfortable. We particularly liked using the canoe on the beautiful lake. While the lake bottom is a bit mushy and reedy, the water was still warm enough in September to float on a raft and it gets less reedy if you swim out a bit. The beach area is wonderful and so nice to be that close to the lake. Our host was communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

While the property was very comfortable for the 2 of us, there were amenities available for larger groups in terms of space and lakefront "toys" Larger families/groups would be comfortably accommodated in the multiple bedrooms, sitting and dining areas, i.e. indoor seating for 14

Little Cottage

The home was spacious, beautiful and had anything you needed. The lake was right there, and it was quiet and peaceful. Close to shopping, restaurants hiking and sights. Incredible and gracious host.

Want to really get away from it all?

Little Cottage is perfect for that escape. It’s clean, cozy and the surroundings are beautiful. A short walk to a lovely pond with a beach, dock and access to canoes and kayaks. However be prepared for the lack of wifi/internet or central air. It made for a few warm nights. A spiral staircase is the access to the basement, where 2 bedrooms are found. You can also access it from outside, though not easily. But for a true getaway, it’s perfect.

Great family space

Well laid out three bedroom home with outstanding common areas for games, dining, etc. Lots of wood, stone and glass. Short downhill trek to beach and new dock/float. Shared clay tennis court and b-ball hoop. Five minute drive to local Appalachian Trail and ten minutes to Great Barrington and it’s great offerings.

Even better than expected!

This property is extremely nicely renovated, clean, and well stocked. Expect your pick of a variety of comfy chairs! The ceiling fan in the center of the house does a great job of cooling the whole area. The kitchen is well stocked with working gadgets and tools for people who enjoy cooking. We enjoyed the fireplace on a couple of cool June evenings, and also took advantage of the dock for sunning and a few quick dips. The owner was friendly, took time to talk with us and answer questions before our stay, and responded in a timely and helpful way to communication thereafter. We hope to return soon!

Very enjoyable and relaxing

The access to the lake was a little confusing at first, but it was a lovely spot. Property was clean and everything was as described. There is no internet and Verizon has ZERO service in the lake valley, but for$60 you can get a T-Mobile SIM card that gives you some minimal service with a phone hot-spot. That was the only drawback. Not really enough for streaming video. ATT may be better, not sure. House was very comfortable.

Family Camp at Lake House

With summer camp cancelled for our grandchildren we decided to make our own. This rental gave us all the break and activities that we where looking for. Our daughters and grand children loved the lake and the paddle boards that we used. I loved the well equipped kitchen and Weber grill that made feeding our group easy and fun. Small drawbacks are that both bathrooms are on the main floor, those staying in the two bedrooms down below need to walk upstairs for access. Verizon has no service here and there is no internet. The comfort and pluses of this location, the beautiful knotty pine interior far out weigh the minuses. I will most definitely be contacting the owner for repeated rentals in the years to come.

Great recreation

Little Cottage was clean and ready for guests upon arrival. It is very well equipped for recreation - paddle boards, a kayak and canoes on the beach, which is just 100 yards down a lane to Lake Buel. Steve was friendly and informative host as well. We hope to return.

Thank You Steve For A Memorable Summer Vacation Our Family Will Cherish Forever!

First let me say this review was long overdue. As many of you especially those with kids can attest life just gets in the way sometimes. That being said last summer my wife and I along with my brother and his wife decided that we would try and find a lake house for our family summer vacation. This was our first time with the whole lake house vacation idea, and well let me put it simply. IT WAS AWESOME! Steve's lake cottage was everything we could have wanted and more. It is beautifully renovated while still holding on to its rustic cottage charm. The cottage slept everyone comfortably and the kitchen was quaint with all the cooking staples in case you forgot the SUGAR! for your coffee haha! There is a tennis court just outside the front door and a basketball hoop for those family sports rivalries. There is a summer camp nearby that is a blast from the past with its cheerful councilors and marching chants. The cottage is only a short walk down a pebbled dirt road to a private sandy be it small beach area which our young kids aged 2,3,4,and 6 loved! The dock was great for fishing with the kids and the lake refreshing and clean for those summertime dips. Most days we had the beach all to ourselves but on the few days that we did see some of the locals we found that they were incredibly friendly. My brother and I also brought our 22 ft boat which was the inspiration for the lake house idea. It was a bit of a challenge getting the boat in and out of the driveway but with a larger boat that is to be expected. It would have been nice to be able to keep the boat docked in the water but the ramp was literally just one road over from the cottage. Lake Buel is just big enough to enjoy tubing and exploring in search of those good fishing spots while occasionally stopping to jump in with the kids. I guess I would be remised if I didn't mention our one hiccup. Aside from not being able to dock the boat during our stay the local well that services the homes in the area filled with silt causing the water in the cottage to run dirty. It unfortunately meant we were unable to use the washing machine and had to use jugs of store bought water for everyday water use. However let me say that even the locals said it hasn't happed in 30 years! just bad luck. In fact Steve was incredibly accommodating. He always answered or returned my calls and worked tirelessly to resolve any issues. This event while inconvenient showed how caring and professional he is. Thank You Steve

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! My brothers and I are very happy you had a wonderful time, especially with the really bad luck with the well. Thankfully all repairs were completed by last Fall and everything is back to normal. We hope you and your family will come back again.

Wonderful Family Vacation!! Would definitely book again!

This charming lake house is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. Absolutely perfect and functional for a family vacation! We really enjoyed having the master bedroom upstairs and the kids rooms downstairs. There are many different sitting areas including a comfortable TV room and outdoor porch. The lake and dock were beautiful and a great setting for quality family time. We can't say enough...5 stars and definitely a place we would consider staying at again!

My parents purchased the Little Cottage almost 40 years ago. My parents would bring myself, and my two brothers up for weekends and for longer in the Summer and Winter. It is now owned and shared by my family and my two brothers' families. We have had years of special memories here and want to share it with you. In 2017 we completed a major renovation and updated the furnishings to better support our growing family. It still maintains a rustic, yet comfortable environment that fits with the woods and the Lake.
