We had a great time at this property. It features a very unique design with plenty of space indoors and outdoors to enjoy, along with many sleeping options.The property manager provided a detailed listed of items to bring up to ensure we could fully enjoy the many amenities including the Nespresso machine, Traeger grill, wood-burning sauna, and much more.It was the ideal location for 12 men to enjoy a golf weekend.

What an amazing weekend.

I flew down from Alberta to celebrate Father’s Day with my family who mostly live in Ontario. This place was absolutely incredible. The adults enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and the kids love the lake. We enjoyed this place so much, we are considering making this an annual tradition. 10/10.

Overall It was great and we all have enjoyed a lot. Lake view was beautiful. Special thanks to care taker who helped us in jump starting our car on the say of checking out. There were some minor things like Kitchen sink was bit of leaking, dishwasher was not working as expected, and one of the washroom was not cleaned properly, there were lot of hair around the drain. Having said that I would recommend this place.

The hot tub was fine and we did not use the fireplace; also i put 3 stars for communication with the property manager but i am not sure i dealt with the property manager; if Hans is the property manager it should be a 5 star/ 10 star but if Hans is not the property manager then i never dealt with the property manager and so there should be no rating for this.

Amazing Winter Getaway

Loved the unique architecture and design of this beautiful home. The bedrooms and accomodation were incredible! It is ideal for a large group, and the common spaces are large enough to accomodate any group. Great experience!

Every thing was great except fire wood was advertised in picture but there wasn’t any so we had to go buy some and they didn’t have garbage bins we had to drop it somewhere else after driving 30 minutes otherwise it’s beautiful place to stay lots room and entertainment

thank you for staying with us! Glad you had a fantastic time! That's why we rent out our family Chalet because we don't get to use it as much as we would like and we really enjoy hearing other people having a perfect vacation. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which Firewood picture you're referring to we didn't have one up 6 months ago but it was taken down as we were no longer able to supply fire as some guests unfortunately were burning through $1000 worth of firewood in one stay. But our neighbour provides Firewood at a really, really good price. And delivers it to you.. Also, yes, like many other Chalet you have to drop off the garbage to the dump, which is open seven days a week during the summer season. It's right beside the Walmart plaza and Home Depot plaza so when you're heading into town, it's just a quick drop. Unfortunately, the town doesn't have the bins that they used to have just down the road. They removed them last year. And it's impossible for the cleaning crew to take the garbage with them. We are really happy you had a fantastic day and we hope to see you again soon :)

Property was as expected. Lighting was not good on dull days. Kayak was available but no paddles. Inconvenient to have to buy wood but that was stated before we got there. The one thing that was very disappointing linens were included but very few towels and they were clean but wet when we got there and sitting on the beds. No dish cloths even. So could be better but we had a wonderful family weekend.

Fabulous quiet spot with lots to keep everyone happy and occupied. Water was pleasantly warm. We had a great time!Only two things to mention is that the water pressure in the kitchen was ridiculously low and since that tap was used the most, it was bothersome. The other was the place was nice and tidy, but the floors were dirty. Both were mentioned to the owner and were on his priority list. Speaking of the owner, he was quick to act when we told him the blender was non-functional; a new one was ordered and delivered in less than 2 days!

The house is spectacular

This property is very beautiful. The house is spectacular – it’s huge! Overall, the place was comfortable for all of us and we loved our stay in it. It was good owners’ idea to have covered fire pit. We had rainy evenings, but we still could enjoy gathering together around fire.

I booked this property through Vrbo while planning a reunion for a friend, working with his sister to organize it, expecting a smooth experience based on how it was presented.Before arrival, I was asked to provide ID for every guest, which felt excessive, but I cooperated. However, once we arrived, there was no property manager present, and communication was limited despite reaching out.A few days before check-in, I was informed that nothing would be stocked. We had to bring everything ourselves, including toilet paper, soap, paper towels, garbage bags, and basic kitchen items. For a place described as “luxury,” this was unexpected.The property was not properly maintained. Snow was not shoveled, and no equipment was provided, so we had to clear access ourselves using recycling bins. The washrooms were not clean, there were bugs, and many dishes were dirty.There was also a power outage, which we understand, but the property seemed unprepared. The hot tub was unusable, leaking and half full, and access to the hot tub and sauna wasn’t cleared.It felt like we had to do a lot of work just to get settled.There were additional issues as well, including the owner choosing to communicate through WhatsApp rather than the Vrbo platform.The property is managed by the Hans team in Richmond rather than a family, which may explain the level of care.Overall, the place has potential, but it does not match how it’s advertised.

Thank you for taking the time to write such a, let's say, creative piece of fiction. You were incredibly stressed about hosting your "important" guests. However, leaving out every positive aspect of the chalet is a choice. Since your review is highly misleading, let’s review for future guests: Yes, we ask for IDs to ensure we aren't renting to teenagers looking to throw a party. This is a self-catering chalet. providing unlimited toiletries resulted in guests wiping out our stock. Supplying these would require a $400 surcharge. You forgot to mention the unexpected, massive spring break snowstorm. Our Property Manager, Joe handles the snow removal for the entire area and at 10:00 AM shovelled the property. You told me he didn't show up. Joe responded "Seriously? I was there Saturday doing a bunch of stuff including shovelling. If she thinks it’s supposed to be grass like the city, she should go back." The chalet is professionally cleaned by a team of 4 with full video and photos after every clean. Finding a few flies on a windowsill in March after the chalet sat empty for two weeks happens. A regional power outage during a massive snowstorm is out of our control. power was back on within 2.5 hours of check-in. The water level was down by a foot for the hottub. Joe topped it up the very next morning. The guests currently there just sent us a photo in the hot tub overlooking the lake having a fantastic time! I am Hans and yes it is my family Chalet!

Great place to vacation

We had an amazing week at this Bracebridge house. The location offers breathtaking backyard views, and the spacious interior, with plenty of bedrooms, is perfect for large families. The family room has table tennis and a pool table, and the cozy fireplace was perfect for chilly nights. We loved gathering around the big dining table for meals.The host was supportive when temperatures dropped unexpectedly and refunded us for the extra blankets we bought . Bracebridge, just a 30-minute drive away, has charming gift stores and convenient grocery shopping. Despite the snow, the roads were well-maintained, making the house easily accessible.

Nice place but not worth the price

The place was nice but needed a lot of upgrades or repairs. The hot tub needs a few items repaired/replaced and the pool table/ping pong table looked like a kids set. For a cottage in this price range the amenities need to be top notch.

Great cottage

Everything was provided. Only two items we would have liked were small fishing boat and a regular gas barbecue. Smoker was okay. We left behind our chargers and cables. Sent message to owner/property manager but have not heard back ! Overall we had a great vacation.

Beautiful private location. Great beach for children. Fun video game room for rainy days. However, the cottage looked neglected. Dirty cupboards, stained interior of refrigerator , broken windows with no cranks and broken door ledge. Spent 90 minutes of our time cleaning kitchen. Water in master bathroom cupboard. Had to clean interior of cupboards for dry goods . Dusty bedrooms and lack of advertised in house bath towels. Dock had protruding rusty nails and broken wood . Not suitable for children. Interior of hot tub falling apart . Outside of cottage needs some paint and repair. Need to supply barbecue not a Traeger.Do not like to give a bad review but felt it necessary for future guests. The location is great but this cottage/ chalet really needs some repair. Disappointing.

Unfortunately, this is a type of Guest that as soon as they check in, you wished they 'Never' booked. :( It's funny how he's only saying 90 minutes now when he messaged me saying he's been cleaning for four hours and it was only 5:30 PM and check-in is at 4 PM. Then the next words out that he texted was how he wanted a refund for the cleaning. I would like to make it clear we have four professional cleaners at the property cleaning for 4 to 5 hours. The water is from the pots being cleaned and then the water may be leaked out and left a water mark. I would've happily sent the cleaning crew back to handle the three items that he mentioned. Mean while the guest who booked for directly with us rebooked already for next year, and this was the second time back this year. He's telling me how he has three or four other Chalet's in the area so it's possible he's feeling that I'm competition. Please note we are almost fully booked for next summer mainly from repeat guests. Personally, I'm going to ask VRBO to remove this review as he wrote it because he didn't get the refund that he was asking for. Also, the Traeger barbeque is a approx $2000 barbeque. There is a cupboard full of extra bath towels in the laundry room. Yes, the paint on the metal roof that is 40 feet high needs to be repainted but it doesn't affect anyones stay Even after this rant he gave a 4 star review but I would never rent to this Guest again.

Way overpriced!

Place needs major upgrades and repairs. Hot tub was unusable. Ad says water is changed every visitor but the water was disgusting. One shower head was broken and unusable. Jacuzzi drain was broken so it was unusable. Bbq lid hinge was broken. Trampoline was upside down and in the lake. Floor in master bedroom had a major sag and cracks.

Decent place, good basic accommodations for the cost

The location has a good set up in terms of number of rooms for an extended family gathering. The description was somewhat unclear in terms of the configuration, particularly with one double/queen being on the upper loft area of one room necessitating a climb up a steep ladder. The loft areas are fine for children, not ideal for adults. The missing door from one of the bathrooms was not ideal and renders it less useful. The lack of locks on any of the bathroom doors is also not ideal. The outdoor covered patio was not a place we would be comfortable spending time. The structure actually looks unsafe. The access to the water is awesome. I wish the grounds were maintained better. The maintenance of the house, both indoors and outdoors left a lot to be desired. The boats were great for kids. Unfortunately one inflatable boat had a hole and was not usable. The stand up paddleboards were not good quality and not really suitable for adult use (even those of us experienced with SUP found this to be the case). Contact was ok, but one pertinent question about safety of the water for drinking took around 24 hours to answer. Overall the space was clean. The layout was a bit odd, but enough space overall. The access to the water and number of rooms are the biggest strengths. The sauna is a nice added touch. It would have been nice to have a regular bbq in addition to the smoker. Overall a decent place and a nice stay, but would probably not return to the same spot.

Happy to hear you enjoyed the private beach! The Crystal Clearwater at the lake! The outdoor fire pit! And The incredible space 3800 sqft space and interior design of the Chalet With all its amenities! it's unfortunate you feel it necessary to be so harsh on your review But to each their own, so let allow me to respond: 1 - Read the chalet checkin manual next time: You could clearly read that we have stated that the drinking water comes from a 300 foot deep well which is artisan water and is fantastic for drinking! There is no safety issue. 2 - The covered area, which is fantastic in the winter and if it's raining as it has a fire pit there and the Traeger BBQ but it is the exact same since we got the property in 2016 it hasn't moved a bit. It is 100% safe. Unless you had engineer come in and tell you otherwise doesn't make sense to put a false statement on a public review. 3 - Yes, the loft is a steep ladder, but it's not considered the bedroom. It's just an add-on for the bedroom Mainly for the kids or teenagers so they have their own space while the parents sleep below. The "5" bathrooms are 100% usable and renovated. 1 private ensuite never had a door. 4 - Blows my mind that you're making a negative comment over the stand-up boards 1st in 4 years since buying them. 5 - Its $2000 Traeger BBQ it's not a smoker. Wow! Some people just like to complain?:( We've have guests coming back here year in year out for over five years And still keep coming back!

To start we did not receive check in info until the morning of and at the end of the message I was then told the cooktop does not work! Completely unacceptable. It doesn’t work because it’s from 1950. This should be in the add. They had three hotplates however only one worked and only one kitchen outlet works. The kitchen blender is broken in pieces. The Magic bullet does not even work as it’s missing pieces. The new BBQ is a good 20 ft from the house and remember you can only use the front door(this comes later) so add another 20ft. The house is full of cobwebs, ladybugs and flies. The firewood shown in the pics is no where near the fire pit and was buried under a snow pile. The fire pit has a roof over it that is charred and leaning. It looks extremely unsafe. The hot tub is in the back of the cottage but you again we were told your not allowed to use or open any door except the front door. So accessing this in the snow is not user friendly at all! Plus I should add nothing is shovelled so be prepared to clear snow on your own! The lofts in the bedrooms have very steep ladders. I would not call them stairs. The one bedroom/loft combo has space to sleep 7 however the bathroom has no door on it so be ready for all to see and hear your business. Overall the people we stayed with made the weekend amazing. Definitely the alcohol made the stay manageable.

Tranquil and Private getaway

The property itself is gorgeous and very spacious. There is plenty of room for entertaining a large group of guests indoors and out. No shortage of beds either! There were a few minor quirks that impacted an otherwise perfect location for a getaway in Muskoka. But overall it's a great place to stay! Thank you Hans for your assistance during our stay!
