Beautiful property with a welcoming committee......a herd of about 10 deer just hanging out in the back yard. We picked this part of Maine for the dark skies, as we planned to bring our telescope. Thankfully we got 3 clear nights to view the stars. During the day my husband and son did some hiking, while I sat on the deck with my cross stitch projects and the deer. (You can feed them...they really like apples!) This group of cabins is a little remote, about 40 minutes back to Greenville and much of the road is packed dirt and gravel. Some other things to consider.....heat is by gas fireplace in kitchen and wood burning stove in living room. There is a wood shed on the property. The main bedroom with the king sized bed is in a loft open to the living area below. The loft with the twin beds pictured in the listing is open to the kitchen area and definately better suited to kids....it's a tight space. Appliances were all clean and in working order and cabin was clean as well. Hosts were lovely and answered my questions promptly. Only glitch in our stay....power went out around 9:30 or so on the last night of our stay. Thankfully we travel with flashlights, as this cabin has no generator...some others do. Overall, enjoyable experience, and would definately stay here again.
