When we arrived, part of my family was already at the house. As we walked through the home together, it quickly became clear the home had not been cleaned prior to our arrival.There was trash in the kitchen & in the bathrooms. Dirty towels were hanging in the master closet, & a used washcloth was still in the master shower. A glass vase full of water was sitting in the middle of the front bathroom floor (weird), & there was trash under the beds & under the living room couch. The floors throughout the home were dirty, the living room rug appeared to have pet urine on it, & the washer contained sheets & a comforter that had mildewed. I contacted the owner, who responded promptly & said they were looking into it. After some time passed with no update, I called the host directly & was told a cleaning crew would be sent immediately. We left for the ballgame & made sure our dogs were kenneled so the cleaners could work. I didn’t receive confirmation that the cleaning had been completed, so I emailed again before the game ended & was told it had been taken care of. When we returned the house has been cleaned, but not thoroughly. Parts of the floor were sticky, & there was still a blue solo cup under the living room couch, which made it clear the cleaning was rushed.Later that evening the smoke detector began beeping. I contacted the owner again to ask if we could disarm it, he said that was fine. I have more to say but not enough space here but had to do with not being pet friendly
