Guys snowmobile trip

Couldn’t have had a better location. Powell’s bar and restaurant near by. Only a short ride to Hayward Powersports. This was our first time staying here but our second trip up. I will definitely look to book here next year.

Lovely stay at Grand Oins

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My son and I spent two nights in cabin one at grand Pines. Mike was the best. He came out the first morning and placed six holes and tip ups in front of our cabin along the lake. We had a great time going and checking on them although fishing was slow. In the afternoon, we went out to a lake north of town and limited on Crappies. Terrific fishing Mike was an excellent guide host and companion. Cabin one was a comfortable, warm and cozy place to return to on a cold winter afternoon. Highly recommend.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice rustic cabin. Clean until I looked in the shower and black mold was on the clauking and floor by shower door. I looked around the kitchen and on the floor of one cabinet were mice droppings. The fan did not work in one bedroom. We cant control the weather (we had snow 2 mornings) but cleanliness we all have control over. Would recommend to others if the previous things were taken care of first.

Grand Pines Get Away

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is our 11th visit to Grand Pines since 2004, mainly cabins 28 & 29. This time, cabin l. Love the location. Cabin 1 has been stripped of it's wall decor with nail holes everywhere. The grill had cob webs in it and we chose not to use it. The pontoon is a great feature of Grand Pines but this one was filthy. Opening up the seats to access the life jackets was disgusting. These boats need to be replaced. Also disappointing that Prop's Landing was only open Thursday to Sunday. The resort has lost a good deal of charm since Famous Dave's burned. We will still return someday, but not cabin 1.

2019 Summer at the Cabin

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third time renting at Grand Pines. We rented seven months ahead of our vacation. We spend more than $10,000 to rent three cabins for a week. For what we got, it was VERY expensive. Cabin amenities were old and worn. No cabin cleaning at all during the week other than garbage was picked up daily (which was great). Although we had a two-bedroom and 2 three-bedroom cabins, they were very small - limited eating space and kitchens were TINY. Each cabin was adorned with Christmas lights around the outside, which remained on all night (we couldn’t shut off). This made every bedroom glow. The cabins we rented were VERY close together in fact two of our cabins were actually connected to one another - not something we expected given a +$3000 a week charge. Thankfully we knew the people in the cabin - otherwise this would have been a really terrible experience. There was no yard space for yard games and the bonfire pit was on a hill making half the chairs feel like you were going to roll forward and the other half feel like you were going to roll backwards. The pontoons ran well and were clean. Each of our three cabins came with a Pontoon - although we only needed two Pontoons and yet we had to pay $360 extra for one paddle board and kayak for the week. Perhaps give renters the options of the Pontoon or the paddle board/kayak? Unfortunately due to cost and experience we will look at alternative to Grand Pines for Summer 2020 gathering.

30 Year Anniversary Fishing Trip

The pier and pontoon boat bring right outside the cabin and ready to go was a great added amenity. The walleye fish fry and walleye fingers are to died for at Props Landing, yummy yum. Many and Dean were the best, always available and helpful. Overall a fantastic experience, we hope to be back again.

Great weekend in cabin no. 1

It was spacious, clean, well decorated, comfortable and relaxing. The ice fishing guide did a great job and the restaurant on site had excellent staff and food. I'm still craving more of the walleye fingers with dipping sauces. The resort staff were friendly and we would definitely return in the future.

Needs Repair

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed 2 years ago and it was blissful... this time however I was very dissatisfied. The master bedroom fireplace makes a loud buzzing sound that you have to wait 5 minutes for it to stop. We contacted the office the 2nd day and the voicemail indicated we would get a return call in 24 hours. 6 days later we still hadn't. Meanwhile, we discovered the oven had a temp sensor issue and wouldn't stay running. Expecting a call back from our previously left voice mail message, we didn't call again. We had a 7 day reservation but left a day early when we ran out of food that could be microwaved. When check out early we asked to discuss a reduction or response of some sort and was told the gal at the counter didn't have authority to resolve it. What we had wanted was to have someone call us back in the 24 hours promised so we could request the items get fixed. Refunds requested were only a result of never getting a call back.

Although the cabin was as described, what was very below standard was the mattress in the master bed room . The fold out couch in the living room was dirty and so broken down, guest could not sit on it. These items need to be replaced.

An early fall getaway in the Wisconsin northwoods

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our 2-bedroom cabin was spacious, had a nice layout and was generally in good condition. The gas fireplaces added to the northwoods feel. Loved the concept of a pontoon for each cabin and our pontoon worked well on the beautiful Round Lake. Easy access to Hayward's restaurants and shopping. A two minute walk to the Prop's Landing patio, a great place to take in a sunset over drinks. The only complaints were that (i) the mattresses were lumpy and uncomfortable, and (ii) the hide-a-bed that doubles as the main couch was extremely uncomfortable for sitting. Would recommend that the office's hours be extended a bit, as 9-5 means guests are using prime lake time to tend to anything involving the office/store.

Nice cabin and pontoon. Bad beach and very close to neighbors.

My husband found a four inch nail in the sand although it's a stretch to call it sand. It was more like a dirty, rocky surface not to mention tiny. Our kids had to wear shoes all the time. We stayed in cabin 1. It was spacious and nice. It has a lovely screen porch. We moved some furniture out there to be able to eat and sit out there. The furniture that was there was tiny and flimsy. Management was great when the hidabed was in terrible shape. The couch was replaced almost right away.

Great, but..

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great stay. As always for decades. Great cabins. Great location. Only downside is the check-in time. Why is check-in time at 4pm? Check-in time was never at 4pm before! If my family could rate the check-in time 1 star, we would. Paying for a full day and to check-in so late is very, VERY dissatisfying. We come to Grand Pines mainly for the fishing. If we check-in at 4pm, which means 15-20 mins of paying our final balances and completing paper work & going over rules at the office...half hour later is when we show up to our cabin. THEN it generally takes about 30-40 mins to unpack food/home supplies/fishing gear. We finally get onto our pontoon an hour later at 5pm.. With maybe 4 hours of fishing light left. No one was happy about that. Why pay for that full day?? I don't think so. Sorry. THEN, CHECK-OUT is at 9am??! Especially if someone was staying for only 3 days? I've had family & friends stop coming to Grand Pines for that reason. With that said, one star for that reason, too.
