Well, this is my first time to write a review ever. My fiancee and I were getting married in St. Thomas, so we planned our 6 night trip 5 months in advance. Before we came to the island, I contacted the owner to make sure that everything is in the good shape before we moved in. On the day of arrival, on Friday, we found out that AC wasn't working. I contacted property manager to let her know about the problem. She told me that she was aware of this issue and she brought it to owner's attention. Then, I contacted the owner and she offered a temporary solution of portable A/C for FOUR nights. They could not send anyone to repair AC unill Tuesday. We decided to give a chance to a portable A/C. The portable AC was a joke, the room temperature never went below 80 F. I told the owner this was not acceptable and that we cannot leave in these conditions. The owner offered to move for a couple days to a different unit which was no even close to what we paid and we did not want to wait 4 days before the A/C be fixed, so we moved out and rented a different unit.
It should be mentioned, that the owner promised us to refund for the nights without A/C but until this moment, we haven't heard from her again. I sent her few messages through VRBO website and direct text messages. I filed a claim with VRBO and they have issues of contacting the owner as well.
Be aware, that if something goes wrong with this unit, you will have no support at all and you will never see you money back. Moreover, the unit is old and needs updating. We rented it for the view, it is beautiful, but everything else was a disappointment. Do not recommend to have any business with the owner, unless you want to have an unpleasant vacation.
