Esta casa tiene tres dormitorios, dos baños completos de azulejos, una cocina grande, una sala / comedor, una sala de estar y un lavadero separado. Tiene una cubierta frontal grande con vistas a la montaña y plantas en macetas en flor por todas partes. La cubierta es la sombra de un árbol de albaricoque grande, una delicia en una tarde calurosa. También hay un portal / patio trasero cubierto con mesa y sillas, barbacoa y por supuesto más plantas. Hay un amplio aparcamiento y espacios de jardín circundante. Una adición divertida es 'The Bunkhouse', un lugar perfecto para los jóvenes de corazón. ($ 25 por persona por noche. Puede ser dejado a la salida.) Si todo esto no es suficiente, mi casa se encuentra a cinco minutos a pie a través de un agradable vecindario histórico hasta el centro de la zona de Plaza, con tiendas, galerías y restaurantes.
Como con todas mis propiedades, soy un perro amigable. Sábanas para perros para sofás y camas y mitones para la limpieza de perros. Hay un patio lateral cercado de la cubierta delantera para perros. Cobro $ 10 por noche por perro. Esto se puede dejar en la casa a la salida.

Cleanliness was sporadic; some surfaces clean and shiny, but the tub in one of the bathrooms was disturbingly mouldy and dirty, we didn't use it. Supplies were haphazard - there were no hand towels anywhere; no small spoons (flatware was mismatched garage sale cast-offs). Beds were VERY firm and uncomfortable, one of them we could not use and put that guest on a futon which was barely better. Some lightbulbs burnt out and the house was dim. Ceiling fans did not work and badly needed dusting. Floors, tables, and kitchen were clean. No dishwasher or disposal, kitchen faucet very old - no sprayer. Mineral buildup on shower was pretty bad and shower curtain was too short so floor got all wet when using. Good location, a bit of a walk to the Plaza we ended up driving and parking. Very charming old adobe style construction, I think a little TLC and attention to supplies and function would make this property really pop!

Since this property got very high ratings, I had high expectations. I don't know how guests rated it so high; it was not at all like they described. This eclectic house is filled with fun artwork, but it is all dirty and seems never to have been dusted. Same with other surfaces in the house. The kitchen was nice but the stove was cheap and old, no dishwasher, only one small pot, the non stick frying pan was too scratched to use.The living room had a OK couch, but the other chair is antique with the innards fallen out on the floor - you can't sit on it. The room with the TV again had an OK couch, but the chair with ottoman is sagging with age and use.The patios are nice settings but the furniture is weathered and rickety; the cushion fabric is faded and dirty, some with rust. The window from the patio into the living room is not only dirty but covered with a huge cobweb, complete with insect carcasses. Our friends were in the front bedroom and said it was comfy, but none of the bedrooms had a place to put a suitcase - only the floor. We were in the back bedroom, whose quilt was pretty but needs a good cleaning. The bathtub/shower in back has pretty tile whose grout is black with mildew - I was afraid to touch any walls. Perhaps the owner can use the Cleaning Fee to have it cleaned by actual professionals, then invest in a bit of new, not-worn-out furniture.This house is in a good location; we enjoyed exploring Taos; I hope this house gets some care and upgrades.

We loved the big house! Lots of room both inside and out. Good location and a comfortable walk to the Taos Plaza. For 4 years we have booked various properties owned by Melissa and will continue to book them when in Taos.

Our dates were actually July 31–Mon Aug, not as listed.The house was charming from the outside, seemed to have a nice newRefrigerator, the kitchen great & well appointed!Good books, fun decorations…However there was both a broken down upholstered chair in main living room, which could not be used for sitting (Why not REMOVEFrom rental house!) and a small bench, rotten &nothing to hold the botton to the top!we could also hear smoke alarm going off in hall, before we unlocked the house…So all in all, the first 20 minutes not at all welcoming!!We quickly moved broken furniture & called owner to replace smoke alarm battery! The handy man came quickly, FOUR stars is generous, due to old wobbly lamps & even older wiring, coupled with a burnt paper Lampshade beside dining room table.Nice touches abounded, but this pleasant house NEEDS an electrician to inspect all plugs cords & lamps, soon.. Perhaps remove lamps or lights that do NOT work. Thank you!

Charming home with a soul

Traveling for the weekend to see two concerts with dogs.Peaceful space with a great outdoor spaces for coffee and a side yard for the dogs. Numerous pieces of charm and art throughout with all of the essentials you will need. Easy checkin and great communication.

Lots of Taos Atmosphere

My friends and I gathered here for a writers retreat and it was the perfect spot. Decorated with an eclectic collection of folk art, its very atmospheric and quirky. The only recommendation I have is to update the kitchen supplies and coffee maker. Other than that, it was great.

Great in-town location, beautiful outdoor spaces

Immediately felt like “home.” Great location, within walking distance to the plaza if you don’t mind a stroll. Beautiful outdoor spaces; we spent much of our time on the front deck and back patio. Great division of space for our group - two couples and a single - and everybody had plenty of room. Kitchen is nice and spacious, and was well stocked for our needs. Communication from the host was prompt when we had questions. Great stay.

Beautiful house

We had a wonderful stay and particularly loved the location which was a quiet neighborhood with an easy walk to downtown. The house is gorgeous and very spacious. The furniture is beautiful but not particularly sturdy or comfortable. Another thing to note is that the curtains are very thin, so if you or your kids tend to wake at first light that may be an issue. Regardless, would stay again. e.

Beautiful home

This rustic, vintage home was captivating from the moment we walked in. So charming, neat and clean. The porch and deck are absolutely beautiful and inviting. We enjoyed our coffee outside in the morning and dinner outside in the evenings. Great location tucked away on a side street. It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we needed to rest and recharge. Hope to stay here again sometime.

This was the most relaxing property. We loved the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed having our coffee under the gorgeous apricot tree listening to the birds singing their good morning songs. It was so close to so many places. We are actually thinking of going back very soon.

I have 11 vacation Rentals in Taos. Everything from one bedroom apartments and casitas to two and three bedroom homes.

I so enjoy buying old adobes, remodeling and reviving and then furnishing them and renting them to visitors. My houses are always booked and I get great reviews.

I moved to Taos 14 years ago from the San Francisco Bay area after raising my three children as a successful landscaper. I wanted a small town with lots to do, real mountains and four seasons. I got all this and more. I can't imagine living anywhere else and love sharing my town with my guests.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

I've known this home for years. A friend of mine owned it and I often went to garage sales at the house. It had a nice feel to it and I liked the location. It went into foreclosure and I honestly forgot about it. I had enough else going on. A real estate friend of mine mentioned it to me and we went to see it. I immediately saw the incredible potential as a wonderful vacation rental, but no longer had my 'California money or California mentality'

My mom was 96 and talked about wanting to do something for me while she was still alive to enjoy it. She wrote a check and I had another house.

I bought it in March and it was quite the challenge, but 4 months later I have an amazing showcase vacation rental!

Thanks mom! I've named it 'Casa Madre' for you!!!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This home has a wonderful feeling to it. Ok, part of it is my style and taste I know, but it is inviting and friendly with a spacious, yet cozy feeling.

Floors are wood or mexican tile, there are lots of windows, screened doors and it has a welcoming feel.

The house is constructed of 'cross ties' which are railroad ties, but not treated with creosote so the walls are thick and it is cool on the warmest days. I splurged on two gas log stoves for that fireplace feel without the firewood chore. All rooms now have heat. It must have been quite chilly in the past, but will now be warm in the winter. Please ONLY operate gas log stoves from wall thermostats and NEVER turn off main gas lines.

The house has a nice layout and will be comfortable for one to three couples in the three bedrooms.

The neighborhood is great. Nice homes, peaceful and quiet. Birdsong in the day, crickets at night and occasionally the intriguing sound of someone's peacock! (A peacock in Taos? I swear it is...)

There are two homes on the property, but each have their own parking area, are separated by gardens and a fence so everyone maintains a sense of privacy.


This is a very special home and I am proud to offer it as a vacation rental.
