Sal de tu mundo y entra en el de ella ...

Una rica experiencia de patrimonio, alojada en una casita que una vez fue también fruteros y tenderos, en una encantadora ciudad de campos de oro. Originalmente construido en 1877, Shopkeeper es ahora otro mundo. Es un lugar que me encanta, un espacio creativo y reflexivo, escondido aquí, a la vista. Ella tiene todas las cosas que amo tener a mi alrededor, porque esas son las cosas que quiero que tú también tengas. Libros y revistas interesantes, música ecléctica y cosas hermosas. En Shopkeeper, el tiempo se ralentiza lo suficiente.

El comerciante ha sido cuidadosamente reconstruido y decorado con las cosas que amo. Hay textiles especiales, hechos a mano y antiguos, un sistema de sonido de calidad (¡con un tocadiscos!)Cerámica especial y todo tipo de pedacitos. La mayoría de las cosas han tenido una vida anterior, porque tienen la mayoría de los personajes y tienen sus propias historias, al igual que las del comerciante. Tengo un compromiso con la reutilización y el reciclaje, que ha sido constante en todo momento, y de todos modos, el pre-amado es simplemente mejor.

Es súper acogedora en invierno con calefacción a gas y a gas, y el sistema dividido mantiene las cosas frescas en verano. Shopkeeper es el espacio perfecto para 2 personas y encantador para 4. Muchos juegos, un gran jardín que siempre está cambiando, y senderos para caminar por cada esquina. Este es el lugar para equilibrar su ajetreada vida; estar en el pais estar en un lugar diferente.

Sweet little cozy cabin

It was very warm and cozy house and short nature walk to town. Had everything you need. Comfy beds with electric blankets and beautiful wood fire kept the place warm. My only complaint would be the seating. The couch and chairs are not the best for lazing around and reading books on a rainy day. New couches would give this place a 5 out of 5 perfect score.

Loved our 3 night stay at this restored/renovated cottage. Kate has done a terrific job of restoring this building. Very comfortable cottage with a large rear yard. Jamie was exceptionally welcoming.

Lovely weekend

Shopkeepers Cottage was a lovely little oasis close to town. Welcome pack was fab. Great few days away after several failed attempts due to COVID lockdowns. Very clean and tidy and our pupper loved roaming around the lovely garden.

Maldon Get away

The property is very quaint with so much care given to the decor. The bed comfortable and beautifully made with linen sheeting. The host very thoughtful and helpful.The star rating is given due to the position of the cottage. It is right on the loose stone footpath and road with quite loud traffic noise. Other than that it is a perfect getaway.

Fantastic Weekend Away

We booked this property for a weekend visit to Maldon to surprise my Dad, whose grandparents lived in the town, for his 70th birthday. The property was fantastic - like stepping back in time. The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the little touches put in place by the owners like local produce and notes of what to do in/around town. The owners also went the extra mile organising champagne from Avoca and an amazing cake from the local bakery to be placed in the fridge upon arrival - and being dog friendly we were able to ensure our 4 year old golden retriever Charlie (very much part of the family) was able to come with us! I couldn't recommend the property highly enough - and Jamie and Kate make checking in and communicating in the lead up to and throughout the stay a breeze. A gem of a property run by really charming, friendly people!

Great Getaway, Beautiful Garden

A very cute cottage, filled with bric a brac of bygone eras. Everything you need for your stay is catered for and a welcome pack of goodies was left for us on arrival. The beds and bedding are very comfortable, and despite being on the main road into Maldon we had no trouble with noise. Only a 5 minute leisurely stroll into town and right next door to the steam railway. However the jewel of this property is the garden. A fully fenced oasis under the canopy of a beautiful tree where you can sit in all weather and relax. Our dogs loved the space as did we, enjoying a good book and a glass of wine in the fresh highlands air.

Beaut stay in Maldon

This is the most gorgeous quaint cottage with a lovely garden on the side, perfect for us and our dogs! We loved the little extra touches like quality local cheese, olives, and sparkling rose, and being able to go down the nostalgia road with the record player! The beds were comfortable with linen and blankets. I did get a shock when I found out there was no wifi as I needed to download a document, but managed to do that on my phone. It would have been nice to use it to get Netflix when the TV was full of Carols and replays. Another little issue was that the dining table was extremely wobbly, so much so we could not eat on it, so pretty as it is, it either needs replacing or fixing. No biggie though! We really loved the cottage and would heartily recommend it to anyone needing a romantic break in the countryside!

One of the most quality places we’ve stayed in.

We had a lovely time at the Shopkeeper's Quarters. The house is charming, cosy and filled with interesting antiques and trinkets. We had everything we needed - plenty of firewood, towels, luxurious bathroom products, a great selection of tea and a wonderfully generous welcome hamper. The beds were very comfortable with beautiful linen sheets in fact all the soft furnishings made the house feel welcoming and cosy. It's clear that a lot of thought and care has gone into decorating and outfitting the house to make it a very pleasant and comfortable stay. The yard is spacious and attractive too, especially on a sunny afternoon. We were able to bring our cat Roy with us, and he quickly settled into life at the Shopkeeper's Quarters, and we found it a very pet-friendly place to stay. The cottage is also only a short walk from Maldon's main street. Overall, we would thoroughly recommend the Quarters to anyone looking to stay in Maldon.

Incredible!

We spent nearly a week at the Shopkeepers and we could not have imagined a more wonderful place to spend our Christmas holiday. The shade of the big beautiful Elm Tree in the garden was just magically, offering such cool shade even on those 30'C+ days when you'd usually hide inside. If felt incredible to be able to spend time just reading on a blanket and enjoy the summer without fear of overheating or burning. The house itself was equally as wonderful, we loved preparing meals in the airy and bright kitchen, and spent our evenings relaxing by listening to records and feasting on the visual delights the interior offered. We would recommend this little lovely little oasis to anyone, and we will most definitely be back! Thank you!

What a getaway!

This property is amazingly well crafted. The attention to detail for each room impeccable. A modern clean bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, the lounge focused around the log fire and comfortable bedrooms. The house is full of curiosities and wonderfully restored furniture as well as all mod cons (discreetly placed so they don't ruin the feel). The back yard is picture postcard beautiful and with the steam train rail line just over the back fence (don't worry, only goes during the day and is very quiet), it has something for everyone. We WILL BE BACK!

A place of wonder

Shopkeeper's is a place of wonder from the moment you walk in the door. So many delights for all the senses - it is beautifully restored and faithful to its era. Modernity is there but kept tucked away. A record player and vinyl in the cupboard meant for a fun night reminiscing. Do stay longer than 2 days if you can. we did and loved every minute. Thanks to Kate and Jamie for such great treats, support and being on hand when needed.

Wonderful weekend

My parents owned a cottage in Maldon when we were kids so I love this quaint timeless country town. It was my partners first visit. He also loved. Shopkeepers Cottage was delightful. A thoughtful and amazing restoration of our history with beautiful attention to detail. We loved the record player and the fire and made it a cosy and super fun getaway. We will definitely be back.

Perfection.....

This property ticked all the boxes for a fussy Melbourne family! No detail was overlooked and the decor throughout was superb. A short drive to a heavenly, relaxing hideaway to recharge the batteries. We will be spreading the word and will most definitely return again soon, loved it xxx

Delightful, Cosy & comfortable

Shopkeepers was fabulous, clean, warm & cosy with comfortable beds, great shower & creatively & tastefully presented. Great to be near the steam train & handy to town centre.I was able to sit at the desk under the front window & do my art with the fire going in the background, quietly introverting till my family arrived for a lovely get together over a meal & shopping in Maldon & nearby Castlemaine. Why this home? Because it's such a distinctive feature of the town, one that everyone knows and loves. We love that it has a former life as a shop with its distinctive shop window. It's comfy and modern in all the right place, and has lots of vintage and antique bits and pieces that reflect our interests. It has lots to keep you occupied here - but it's also so close to town, and right at the start of the Maldon-Castlemaine trail if you're feeling active. And we love that it's right by the station, with the choof of the steam as it comes and goes, and that horn tooting in the distance - we're sure you will too!

The Shopkeeper's Quarters you see is the outcome of extensive restoration and rebuilding. The funny little old cottage that was about to collapse has become a lovely place to be, with heaps of care and attention to detail that has made it the special experience it is. It's where the best of old Maldon, meets modern needs... A quirky old cottage with a wet room and modernised kitchen; a turntable to spin a disc of jazz or bluegrass; those beautiful linens and antique quilts and fabrics. And of course the location, with walking trails into the reserve, or into town, right at your doorstep.
